Story
Ollie's a 2.5 year old border collie with a strong personality. He is playful, curious, energetic, excitable, and very affectionate with people he trusts.We're looking for a new home for Ollie because of our living situation and not being able to give him what he needs to thrive. We live in a small apartment in a busy part of town, and most of Ollie's outdoor experiences are on-leash. He’s always been cautious and fearful and struggles when on-leash in close quarters with dogs he doesn't know or people who he doesn't know that try to pet him. With time, training, and avoidance this has improved slightly, but he would thrive in environment where he had space to roam off-leash and lived with someone with experience with herding breeds or sensitive dogs. He's had experience staying multiple nights with other dogs without issue. He hasn't had positive encounters with cats. He hasn't had many encounters with kids but would be a bitter fit for a family with older kids.

****Basil has been with us longer than we would like. He has been added to our Lonely Hearts Club*****Well hello there my name is Basil and I am an energetic adult dog who loves to chew on things and play chase with my toys and humans. I would prefer a more active household where I can truly be myself, and not have to dampen my energy level to fit in. I will also need help learning to be calm and relax, since too much stimulation and stress can possibly provoke another seizure. I know I may seem like a lot, but I know with some patience, time and support I can do well in any home that can provide me a safe space to live. If I sound like a good fit for your home, then come on down to the shelter and let`s meet! Medical History: Basil is experiencing seizures and has been put on antiepileptic medication to help counter. While complete resolution of this disease isn`t possible, Basil is showing improvement with the medication. He will need this medication for the rest of his life. Your adoption counselor can review his medical history in detail. It`s still always a good idea to set up an appointment with your vet soon after adoption so that they can meet and make plans to keep Basil happy and healthy!Weight: ~74.1 lbsRestrictions: No cats/crittersAdoption Fee: $100 + Tax

While I may be a bit fearful of strangers at first, once I am outside in my yard, I do exceptionally well to bond with people. Small spaces just have a way of freaking me out at times. I have also met other dogs here in the shelter, but it purely depends on the manners of that other dog. I`ll need someone who can give me space and respect my boundaries I set so that we can have a healthy and productive friendship. If I sound like a dog who you could give both patience and love to, then come on down to the shelter and let`s meet soon!
