Looks like: Boston Terrier Male, 8 years old (estimated), 25 pounds If you've been craving a little joy, a sprinkle of charm, and a whole lot of snuggles, allow us to introduce Muffin Man! This handsome Boston boy has a heart as warm and soft as his name suggests. Muffin Man is a mellow, easy-going gentleman who believes every day should include naps in sunny spots, gentle strolls, and a comfy lap for dessert. He's the kind of pup who makes life feel sweeter just by being in the room. He's friendly with other dogs, polite in his manners, and has perfected the art of the slow tail wag. Whether you're lounging on the couch, puttering around the house, or enjoying a quiet afternoon, he'll happily trot along and keep you company. Muffin man joined us from San Jose Care and Animal Services after coming in as a stray. Due to his senior status and a small abrasion on his leg that needed attention, they felt he would do best in a rescue setting to heal and find his forever people.

Raisin is the sweetest and most playful puppy. She was saved from the Riverside animal shelter where she was neglected in her previous life. She barely had any fur and now look at her smooth coat. She is so cute and very energetic . She likes to travel in the car and be by your side. She gets along with dogs and smaller dogs would be a perfect match since she is very small. Meet Roscoe – the pug mix puppy! Roscoe came into the Shelter as a little underage puppy. He spent some time in a foster home to prepare for adoption. His foster reports he is spunky, outgoing and explorative. He has been curious about interacting with the resident dogs and cats alike. Roscoe is a fairly mouthy puppy (uses his mouth in play and interaction with the world fairly frequently). Although this behavior is more commonly seen in puppies, Roscoe is a bit more mouthy than typical. We are recommending an adults only home to help set Roscoe up for success. Other animals in the home may be a fit provided there is a slow, thoughtful introduction. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw!Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
