Raisin is the sweetest and most playful puppy. She was saved from the Riverside animal shelter where she was neglected in her previous life. She barely had any fur and now look at her smooth coat. She is so cute and very energetic . She likes to travel in the car and be by your side. She gets along with dogs and smaller dogs would be a perfect match since she is very small. Meet Esme, the pug terrier mix! Esme came to the Shelter after her previous guardians were unable to continue caring for her. Typical to puppies her age, Esme is still needing to learn life skills and manners to help her grow up into a good canine citizen. This can include leash walking, potty training, etc. Esme may do well in a home with other animals and/or children with a slow, thoughtful introduction. Esme is available for preadoption at this time – come in, fall in love and you can take her, home after her spay surgery!Now through February 15th, all adoption fees are reduced to $33 - come to the Shelter today to adopt your very own Valentine!The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw!Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
