Story
Having a previous Boston, I trusted he would be a good fit. His breeder communicated with me with photos and updates. By the time he came home, there was a full blown love affair...until I began to experience unexpected behaviors. He met many of my expectations, but others just got in the way. Maybe because he just has a nervous personality, and is fearful of unfamiliar things. He barks and lunges at people walking by. He has frightened all the children in the complex. He's 2 in July and puberty is guiding him to randomly pee in the house. He is affectionate, on his own terms. With an experienced owner, he could be a dream! I am fearful that a child could be terrorized by his aggression. I nicknamed him a Boston Terrorist. He has not bitten anyone except me-his people, and only once because he mistakenly thought he was defending himself. He is a beautiful pup. Unfortunately I am not his "Person."

📌 Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. • Rescue Story: She was found wandering the streets of Paju, South Korea in 2022. She ended up at a high-kill shelter but was thankfully rescued just in time. Since then, she’s been living in a private shelter with many other dogs, charming everyone with her affectionate personality. Now, she’s ready to find a forever family of her own! • Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Goofy Moana is truly one of a kind. She quickly won the hearts of volunteers with her gentle, loving nature. She follows people around like a little shadow, happily greeting everyone—even strangers—with tail wags and affection. Moana thrives on human interaction and loves tug-of-war, belly rubs, and being the center of attention. Her energy level is moderate, making her a great balance of playful and calm. • Affinity with - Dogs: Moana is incredibly social—not just with people, but with dogs, too. She’s often the first to welcome new arrivals at the shelter, helping them feel safe and at ease. While she would thrive as the only dog in the home, Moana also does best with calm dog companions. - Cats: Not tested with cats - Adults/Kids: Great with adults / She hasn’t been tested with cats or kids, but based on her gentle demeanor, we believe she’d do well with respectful children. • Walking Manners: Moana has also started practicing her leash skills and is doing great! She may pull a little at times, but overall, she walks well and is eager to please. • Housetrained: As she’s lived in a shelter, Moana will need some house-training in a home setting. • Bathing/Brushing: She’s tolerant of baths and grooming. • Car Sickness: She’s curious and alert during car rides, taking in the world around her. • Separation Anxiety: Zero. • Barks/Howls: Very quiet • Appetite/Food Allergies: Eats well. No food allergies found so far. • Shedding level (1~10): 5 • Likes/Dislikes: She loves affection & treats! • Health: Moana finished her heartworm treatment in Oct 2024 and is in great health. She underwent successful surgery for an inguinal hernia in Mar 2025 and has fully recovered. She has a clean bill of health and is ready for her new adventure! (Her two front bottom teeth are missing) 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Story
A VERY SWEET ‘SPECIAL NEEDS’ GUY:  Approx. 13 years old / Approx. 27 lbs. Hi, my name is Tony!  I had a home, but – sadly – my owner passed away.  Fortunately, I made my way to Mostly Mutts and am spending time in a great foster home now.  I am ready to find a new home where I can love and be loved by my new family!  I needed bloodwork done before my eye removal and neuter surgery, and I've had that now thanks to a generous grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve been great with the other dogs in my foster home and even share dog beds with them.  I WILL try to investigate the food bowls of others at mealtime, so monitoring is best during feeding.  I’d likely enjoy a gentle dog in my new home to casually pal around with, so if you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet! / I pretty much ignore the cats in my foster home. But – as with my doggie friends, I will try to help clean the kitty food bowls – lol.  All cats are different, so I’m not sure how I would be with another cat. / I have been just wonderful with the kids (age 10 and 13) who visit my foster home.  Children in my new home may be nice, but best they are old enough to respect my limited sight and deafness, and – of course, let’s meet!  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  When describing my super sweet personality, my foster says I am ‘an absolute lovebug’ to all people I’ve met while with them.  I’m pretty much their shadow throughout the day and – though I do some vocalizing when separated from my people, I’ve never been destructive in my foster home.  I would like a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member like I have in my foster home to be my happiest.  A happy guy that doesn't seem to let anything break my stride, I’ll occasionally show a pep in my step and channel my playful side, but I mostly just want to collect the love.  Since I don’t hear, I’ll need my family to make sure I’m kept safe from danger that I would otherwise hear, and my sight is a bit limited, though I do still see out of my remaining eye pretty well – over time that may or may not diminish. / My energy level is 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am deaf, so my foster family uses hand gestures to get me to come to them. / I’ve not been crated in my foster home and have not needed a crate. / I do great on a schedule with my potty manners, and I'll sometimes go to a door when I need to go outside.  My foster is working with me on correcting some marking indoors. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to hang out with my people and get snuggles whenever possible.  My foster keeps a dog bed near them while they work, and I am super content to hang out there – just to be near them.  I’m also very food motivated – mealtime is a favorite of mine.  Another fun pastime is walking around the garden area sniffing everything.  I may be deaf and be missing an eye, but my nose works just fine, as I enjoy exploring all the smells with my sniffer. / Other than not liking to be away from people, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love and attention in my senior years. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I only have a few teeth left, but that’s ok - I can eat just fine.  Since I’m an older fellow, keeping me on a good over the counter joint supplement called Cosequin is always a good idea.   I am looking for a loving home with a family who will open their hearts to a sweet senior for life!  My adoption fee is $100.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 5, 2025, 7:58 am

Story
Sakoa is such a precious little girl who loves to be held and to snuggle. She is house trained and friendly with dogs and children. She sits nicely for treats. Unfortunately, Sakoa’s owner is moving, and the new place does not allow pets. She is trying her best to make sense of this change, but it’s so hard and she does not like to be caged. Please consider having Sakoa to join your family. Sakoa is 3 years old and weighs 21 pounds. She is UTD on vaccines and has tested negative for heart worms. Sakoa is microchipped and spayed. Please stop by to meet this delightful girl in run 318. Her ID # is 17028. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
Meet Scout This little nugget, Scout, is a wonderful dog. She, like so many dogs, had been running as a stray and wound up at a high-kill shelter. The shelter saw her potential and asked us if we could rescue her before they were forced to euthanize. Having seen this little girl in action we were smitten. We don't know what breeds Scout is, but she could have some Boston in her, maybe a bit of beagle or even Jack Russell or all three - it's so hard to know. We do know she is petite in size at only 17 lbs. at eight months. She may top out at 25 lbs. She has the cutest oversized ears, an alert expression, intelligent eyes and a pretty white coat with patches. She is the happiest, friendliest, most adorable young pup. Scout LOVES people, kids, dogs, and cats! She loves everything and everyone she encounters. She walks great on a leash, she loves strolling with her person and other dogs, especially Honey (her mate that we also rescued). Scout and Honey seem to be bonded, at least they are best friends, and will be adopted together. It would be so sad to separate them at this time. Scout travels well, is up for adventure and playing. She loves to run in the play yards and likes to say 'hello' to the other dogs out there. This little girl is pawfect. She will transition easily into a loving home. She will be your constant companion. She is a confident, calm, quiet, fun-loving girl, looking to be someone's fur baby companion. She will grace your heart and home with joy, snuggles and cuddles, yet be ready for a hiking adventure, a visit to the wineries or caf̩e or simply lounging on a comfy couch. This girl has it all! If interested in Scout and Honey, please submit a dog application online at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to let us know to be on the lookout. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Meet Fiona Fiona is a terrific young dog. We pulled her off the euthanasia list at another shelter and brought her to our no kill rescue. She is such a sweetheart who was dealt a terrible hand. Neglected her whole life, Fiona was then left abandoned on an outside deck and left with another dog to suffer. Fiona is just two years old, but the hard life she’s led makes her look older. Fiona looks to have some Boston terrier in her. She has an earnest and beseeching face, with expressive ears. She weighs just 43 lbs. She is incredibly sweet, if a little shy at first. Once she gets to know you though, she comes to life and is a happy, gentle lovebug. She likes everyone she meets! She likes other dogs and may enjoy another calm dog in the home to pal around with and provide comfort, as well as show her the ropes. We’ll test her with cats for potential adopters. Sadly, Fiona’s neglect led to heartworms. She’s been treated and has to take it easy and remain calm for a while to ensure the treatment work. This means she doesn’t get to play in the yard or with other dogs. We’ve been teaching her to walk on a leash. Right now she pulls a bit but we think it’s because she isn’t able to run and work off her energy, and she’s eager and enthusiastic to explore. On the flip side, Fiona loves nothing better than to snuggle in a comfy blanket. It makes her feel safe and secure. She looks forward to time with our staff and volunteers. Fiona is not yet housetrained, but with consistency and gentle guidance, she’d probably learn quickly. Since coming to our shelter, Fiona has been catching up as to what love and attention feel like. She is going to make for a wonderful companion. Fiona could use some TLC to help her heal and learn what a safe and loving home feels like. If you want to give a wonderful young dog a second chance and most likely the first chance at love, get your application in at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) or call our shelter at 706-865-4135 and leave a message to make sure we received your application.
