Story
Basie is a sweet, silly, and energetic 2 year old girl looking for a loving new home! We originally adopted her after my sister's husband found her as a stray in early 2025 and no one claimed her. Her initial name was "Goob" because her eyes look like they pop out of her head, but when we realized she was a girl my then-3-year-old named her "Basie" (like Daisy with a B). Basie loves giving kisses, cuddling, jumping, and being around people. She has lots of energy and would thrive with someone who can give her plenty of attention, playtime, and exercise. I can't stress how sweet and loving she is!We’re sadly looking to rehome her because my partner has significant allergies, our schedules have become more and more busy, and we are moving soon. We know finding her the right home is the best thing for everyone.Note that Basie is not spayed. Her breed is only a guess, as we don’t know her exact mix. We love her and hope we can find. the right fit for her!

They are a lovely breed with the perfect mix of fetching skills, lounging skills, listening skills and energy! Both weigh in at around 35-40 lbs. They have grown up in the kennel house and are shy of new things. River is more easy going but it take Rusty longer. Rusty is also on medication for anxiety but I think once he got into a mellow home without the chaos that is the kennel house, he would eventually be able to be weaned off of the medications. Crate trained, housebroken, neutered, microchip, fully vaccinated, and heartworm negative. Good with dogs, prob not cats, kids over 10 bc of nerves and kid noise. FENCES YARD REQUIRED AND PATIENCE to allow them time to adjust. These Bojackchidor (see below) boys are a hard case bc they need a special home but they are so worth it! Right now Rusty is laying in the bed napping and River is laying in his crate chewing on a toy. They just need the right people. * Bojackchidor – Boston terrier, Jack Russell, chihuahuas and Labrador

Meet Lucy Lil Lucy is a ball of energy and full of love. This little darling is a joy to be around. She is one of the happiest young dogs we have. We rescued Lucy from a high kill shelter when her time was up due to space limitations. She is just precious. Lucy loves everyone she meets and other dogs. She doesn’t like cats so much though. She can be a bit chatty. She doesn’t want to be ignored or miss out on fun and affection. She is incredibly smart. She is a pleaser and listens to direction and takes guidance very well. She learns quickly. Lucy is petite at just 30 lbs. She looks to have some terrier in her maybe Boston terrier, mixed with Australian Cattle dog or beagle perhaps? She’s a little beauty with her glossy brownish/black coat, warm brown eyes, athletic build and happy demeanor. Lucy engages with people and warms up quickly. Fun is fun! She walks well on a leash but can be a little pully. She is energetic and wiggly. A fenced yard will be a must to keep her safe. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, gentle and snuggly, when she is ready to settle in. We just love everything about her. Lucy will be a terrific companion for an active family. She will not be happy in a sedentary family. She likes to play and explore, especially at this young stage of her life. If looking for a lifelong companion, full of fun and love, Lucy is a great girl. Meet Fiona Fiona is a terrific young dog. We pulled her off the euthanasia list at another shelter and brought her to our no kill rescue. She is such a sweetheart who was dealt a terrible hand. Neglected her whole life, Fiona was then left abandoned on an outside deck and left with another dog to suffer. Fiona is just two years old, but the hard life she’s led makes her look older. Fiona looks to have some Boston terrier in her. She has an earnest and beseeching face, with expressive ears. She weighs just 43 lbs. She is incredibly sweet, if a little shy at first. Once she gets to know you though, she comes to life and is a happy, gentle lovebug. She likes everyone she meets! She likes other dogs and may enjoy another calm dog in the home to pal around with and provide comfort, as well as show her the ropes. We’ll test her with cats for potential adopters. Sadly, Fiona’s neglect led to heartworms. She’s been treated and has to take it easy and remain calm for a while to ensure the treatment work. This means she doesn’t get to play in the yard or with other dogs. We’ve been teaching her to walk on a leash. Right now she pulls a bit but we think it’s because she isn’t able to run and work off her energy, and she’s eager and enthusiastic to explore. On the flip side, Fiona loves nothing better than to snuggle in a comfy blanket. It makes her feel safe and secure. She looks forward to time with our staff and volunteers. Fiona is not yet housetrained, but with consistency and gentle guidance, she’d probably learn quickly. Since coming to our shelter, Fiona has been catching up as to what love and attention feel like. She is going to make for a wonderful companion. Fiona could use some TLC to help her heal and learn what a safe and loving home feels like.
