Story
Layla is a sweet, silly, snuggly 2 year old Boston Terrier. She loves playing fetch, running, and cuddling under blankets with her humans. Just recently Layla has become aggressive towards her furry sister, biting her unprovoked. She unfortunately needs a new home without any other pets so she can continue with her playful life.

Story
Born: July 23, 2025 I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $500 Konner is a super sweet, playful, and spunky puppy who absolutely loves other dogs. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but give him a little time and you’ll see him blossom into an incredibly loving and affectionate boy. Konner has been diagnosed with suspected inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and is currently doing well with treatment. He will likely need to remain on a low dose of prednisone long-term to help manage his condition and keep him feeling his best. With proper care and consistency, dogs with IBD can live happy, comfortable lives—and Konner is no exception. He would do best in a home that can provide a stable routine, monitor his condition, and work closely with his veterinarian. In return, Konner will reward his family with endless love, companionship, and his fun, playful personality. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also cannot guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown. We look forward to seeing you soon! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Apple Pie! I’m 6 months old, and I’m already trying out for best boy ever When my fosters first met me, I was the very first one to crawl over for cuddles and start handing out sweet puppy kisses—like free samples at Costco! With my soft fur, squishy little face, and loving personality, I’m pretty hard to resist. I’m not just cute—I’m smart, too! On walks, I’ve been very well behaved, and I’m practicing commands like sit, stay, and come like a little overachiever. (I might even remind you about homework ) I’m still working on potty training and getting used to foster life, but I’m trying my very best. In my crate, I’m a perfect gentleman—no mess, no destruction, just patiently waiting like a good boy. I LOVE to play and romp around, and I’m a really good house guest. One of my favorite things is snuggling—there’s nothing better than pressing into your lap for cuddles. I also love walking around with a bone in my mouth, just happy as can be I have so much love to give—I just need a foster or forever home where I can keep growing into the amazing dog I’m meant to be. ✨ Apply to foster or adopt me at projecthopearf.org ✨  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 5, 2026, 10:48 pm

Anderson Humane is not responsible for any unsuccessful adoptions. To know Nina is to love Nina! She is the sweetest gal, she loves love! Nina has been with us for 5 years and is a ball of love! Nina has many wonderful qualities, I believe she would thrive better in a home that she will receive all the time and attention that she deserves. She is approximately 5 years old, spayed, house trained. She is loving, affectionate with people, and enjoys walks, cuddles, car rides, etc. Nina has lived with a small dog and cat; however we feel with an experienced adopter she may be open to gain more social skills with other furfriends. She has some anxiety and would love a solo owner but under the right circumstance and being well managed; we think she can flourish! We would prefer a family that is an experienced dog owner. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to continue providing the environment she requires, which is why I am reaching out for assistance. I want to ensure she has the best possible chance at a safe and happy life.

Story
Meet Franny! Franny is an adorable Boston mix puppy who recently came to us through our rescue partners at Austin Pets Alive!. She’s brand new to our care, and we are still getting to know her as she settles in and begins to show us her personality. As a young puppy, Franny is full of potential and is just starting her journey of learning, growing, and discovering the world around her. We will continue to update her bio as we learn more about her temperament, preferences, and ideal home. For now, Franny is looking for a loving, patient home that can provide structure, gentle guidance, and all the care a growing puppy needs to thrive. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://www.sftsrescue.org/adoptable-dogs

Story
Meet Annabelle Annabelle is a darling senior lady (around 9 years young) with a gentle soul and a heart full of love to give. This sweet, quiet girl is currently working on her potty training and crate training. Annabelle gets along well with other dogs and has a calm, easygoing personality. Her favorite things in life are simple—snuggling on the couch, relaxing by your side, leisurely walks, and spending time in a securely fenced yard soaking up the fresh air. Having come to rescue as a stray, Annabelle is still receiving care for some medical issues as we help her feel her very best. Because of this, she will thrive in a calm, quiet home where she can continue to heal and enjoy the comfort and stability she deserves. Loud noises, sudden movements, and busy environments can make her uncomfortable, so she's looking for a family that appreciates a slower pace of life. Annabelle may need a little extra care and patience, but she will repay that kindness with endless love, quiet companionship, and gratitude. If you're looking for a loyal friend to share peaceful days, cozy evenings, and gentle walks, Annabelle just might be your perfect match.   Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 11-3 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person.
