Story
AVAILABLE SOON! I haven’t arrived at the adoption center just yet - I’m getting ready for adoption! Please fill out an adoption application if you’d like to meet me once I’m available. Born: July 23, 2025 I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $500 Konner is a super sweet, playful, and spunky puppy who absolutely loves other dogs. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but give him a little time and you’ll see him blossom into an incredibly loving and affectionate boy. Konner has been diagnosed with suspected inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and is currently doing well with treatment. He will likely need to remain on a low dose of prednisone long-term to help manage his condition and keep him feeling his best. With proper care and consistency, dogs with IBD can live happy, comfortable lives—and Konner is no exception. He would do best in a home that can provide a stable routine, monitor his condition, and work closely with his veterinarian. In return, Konner will reward his family with endless love, companionship, and his fun, playful personality. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also cannot guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown. We look forward to seeing you soon! Story
Pal's Place has three of the sweetest, most adorable, and lovable little nuggets in town, all looking for loving forever families. These precious little guys were rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky and are now in a loving foster home in Chicago, waiting to meet their forever families. Their mother is a purebred Boston Terrier; their father is unknown, but the family that surrendered the puppies mentioned a neighbor's Beagle/Hound mix or their Cattledog mix was the suspected father. The puppies were born the first week in January, and at 4 months old (5/7), they weigh between 15-18 pounds. Given their current age and size, we expect a mature size of roughly 35 pounds- a fantastic medium size! All three puppies are curious, energetic, social, and happy, making great companions for active families who have the time and patience to raise, train, socialize, and exercise them. Puppies are undoubtedly adorable and fun, but require a great deal of time and attention during their first several months. Please remember that puppies this age need frequent potty breaks (every 3-4 hours or so) and lots of playtime, engagement, and mental stimulation throughout the day, so please consider if you truly have the time for a puppy before applying. The adoption fee to the rescue is $475 per puppy. They are neutered, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and are started on flea and heartworm preventatives. • The cheese litter is fostered in Chicago, and meetings can be scheduled by appointment only after an adoption application has been completed and approved. The adoption fee per puppy to the rescue is $475. This fee helps to cover their neuterings, initial vaccines, microchips, and other care needs. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. We respond to inquiries, questions, and applications by email. We are a volunteer-run organization and strive to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours, though we may occasionally take longer. Correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are awaiting a reply, please check those folders regularly. For more information or to receive an application, email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org

Story
Bugs is a 3-year-old Boston Terrier weighing in at a compact 17 pounds, and he’s equal parts charm, energy, and goofy determination. He’s a happy, friendly little guy who loves being near his people, whether that means following you from room to room, curling up in your lap, or hopping in the car for your next adventure. He’s crate trained, rides well in the car, and settles in nicely at home, often choosing his own cozy spot to relax. Bugs is an active boy who would love a home that can keep up with him. He enjoys long walks, playtime, and any opportunity to stretch his legs. He’ll need a securely fenced yard where he can safely run and burn off energy, plus he won't potty on leash.  Bugs has a strong instinct to chase anything that scampers by. Squirrels and rabbits beware, Bugs is on the case. He can live with calm, confident dogs that are willing to ignore him while he adjusts. However, Bugs comes in a little strong when meeting new animal friends, but he settles in quickly once he realizes everything is okay. He enjoys playing, though he may need some gentle guidance on his manners as he gets excited. He is currently living with dog-savvy cats and, after some initial curiosity and enthusiasm, has learned to coexist. On leash, Bugs is still polishing his skills. He can pull when something catches his attention, but when things are calm, he’s capable of walking nicely. Bugs already knows "sit." He’s a smart boy who will benefit from continued structure and guidance. He hasn’t been around children yet, but based on his personality, he may do well with respectful kids. Because he’s an energetic and sometimes enthusiastic greeter, supervision and continued training will help set him up for success. Bugs would thrive in a home with experienced dog owners who understand how to provide structure, exercise, and positive guidance. In return, you’ll get a loyal, entertaining, and affectionate companion who will keep you smiling every single day. His minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
With his tongue out constantly, adorable Fenway is quickly winning over the hearts of his foster family! He immediately warmed up to the 4.5 year little girl- the first night, he fell asleep laying in her arms! That said, he is very kid friendly! We are so happy to see him get more and more comfortable everyday. He absolutely loves affection. He loves being snuggled, especially when lying in bed. Even when outside sunbathing on the deck, he wants to be right up against the foster family’s 10 year old pitbull. Everyday he is gaining confidence learning all the new things - stairs, car rides, commands, walking on a leash, his name! He does great in a kennel, sleeps well in it and has had no messes in it. He’s eating great, and we haven’t seen any signs of food aggression. His demeanor is so calm and sweet! He’s definitely a shadow dog, wants to follow everyone everywhere, wants to be everyone's friend! He’s just an absolute sweetheart- and would be the perfect addition to a loving home. All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
