Story
Meet Ian – Your Slightly Wonky, Totally Wonderful Adventure Buddy If you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain… Ian might just be your perfect match. This little Boston Terrier mix lives life full throttle—zooming through the yard like he’s racing in the Indy 500, making pit stops in imaginary swamps with Shrek, and embracing every muddy, joy-filled moment along the way (bonus points if you don’t mind getting a little dirty with him). Ian is a young, playful pup with a heart as big as his personality. He came into rescue with a shattered hip that has since healed, leaving him with an adorable “wonky” gait. When he runs, his back leg sometimes flails out to the side—but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. If anything, it just makes him even more unforgettable. Personality & Play Style: Ian is a social, toy-loving goofball who thrives on fun. He always has a toy in his mouth—seriously, always. He’ll take them outside, bring them back in, and politely “check” them at the door until you hand them back. He loves playing with other dogs, especially games of chase and keep-away. After playtime, Ian enjoys winding down with his favorite toy and appreciates a little personal space during his chill time. Because of this, he’d do best with a laid-back, respectful dog companion—especially one around his size or slightly smaller who won’t bother him when he’s relaxing. Snuggles Included: Once the zoomies are out, Ian is all about couch time. He’ll curl up beside you, toy in tow, and drift off while you watch TV. The perfect mix of playful and snuggly. Communication Style (aka his signature move): Ian has the best voice—a raspy, screechy, baby pterodactyl sound that he proudly uses to let you know when he’s ready to come out of his crate or needs a potty break. It’s hilarious, endearing, and very effective. He’ll also quietly go sit by the door, so keep an eye out—he’s a good boy who just needs you to notice his polite signals. Mealtime & Care: Ian is an enthusiastic foodie, so he uses a slow feeder bowl to keep mealtime safe and comfortable. Medical Transparency: Due to his past injury, Ian has diabetes insipidus. The good news: • No injections required • Managed with oral medication twice daily • Just needs a few extra potty breaks His condition is well-managed, and he’s living a happy, active, zoomie-filled life. The Perfect Home for Ian: • An active home that enjoys play, laughter, and a little chaos • A consistent adopter who can manage his simple medical routine • A respectful dog companion—or he’d love being your one and only • Someone who appreciates a quirky, lovable personality Ian isn’t just a dog—he’s an experience. He’ll make you laugh daily, keep life interesting, and then curl up next to you like he’s always belonged there. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Ginger! An adorable senior with the soul of a puppy. Ginger must be an only pet. She does not like to share her humans or her possessions. She divides her time equally between playing and cuddling. She gets a little grumbly if you decide to end either before she's ready but she does correct easily. I wouldn't recommend a home with kids because of her desire not to share. This sweet girl has a history of struvite crystals and does require observations for flareups. She also has dry eye and will need prescription eye ointment lifelong. Otherwise, she is in good health. If you are a strong, patient pack leader and are looking for a cuddly ball of energy, Ginger may be your girl.March 7, 2026, 3:29 pm

Story
Meet Jimmy! This 5-year-old black and white Boston Terrier mix is a sweet, gentle boy who is slowly learning to trust and feel safe. When he first arrived, he was very shy and scared, but he is beginning to come out of his shell and gain confidence. He does well with kids and other dogs, though his behavior around cats is unknown. He is up to date on vaccinations, fixed, microchipped, and has tested negative for heartworm. Despite his timid start, he has a soft, loving side. He does well during baths and enjoys being held, where he feels secure and comforted. With patience and kindness, he is sure to continue blossoming into a wonderful companion.   If you would like to meet any of our pets, they are available for viewing, every single day from noon until 3:30pm. If you have other dogs a meet and greet is required. Calling before a long drive is recommended to confirm availability. Story
PETAL is big fun in a small package. She's sassy and silly and always ready for a good time. She loves people and treats and will sit politely for a snack. Petal is about 2 years old and fully grown at just 21 pounds. Our best guess on breed is a beagle/pug/Boston terrier mix. She has an adorable underbite. Petal is a lively girl who would love an active home where she gets plenty of playtime. If you'd like to meet little Petal, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Petal at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
