Story
Welcome Pumpkin to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2-year old Boston Terrier/Lab or Cattle Dog is our best estimate. She has a rounded head with an upturned nose which has helped us come to this breed mix. She knows sit and will sit nicely for a treat. She likes treats and takes them nicely out of your hand. She likes toys and will give up her toy easily. She is good on leash even though she does pull some. She is very happy and really likes attention. She is good with the dogs that she has met at the shelter. She is also good in her kennel. She is an adorable dog and will make some lucky family a wonderful companion. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is vaccinated, spayed, healthy and ready for her forever home. She would be a great family companion and would be great with a moderately active family. She is active but will calm down and be relaxed after a small amount of activity. She in our opinion a perfect dog. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She moderately sheds and weighs about 40 pounds. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Oreo - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Oreo, a delicious treat good any time of the day, hey hey, that's me! Just twist, lick and dunk along with me for a feel good moment anytime of the day! I have a cookie named just for me...well I haven't been around since 1912 so I guess I was named after the cookie. Either way, we're both sweet but get this, you won't have any guilt indulging in this Oreo!!! I'm only around 10months old and came in with a broken leg. We got me all fixed up and I can now run and jump and chase the other foster pups around!! I will hold that leg up every once in awhile but then I'm off on my next adventure using that leg just fine. I come in at the top end of the small category of 25lbs. I shouldn't get much bigger(taller) but may but on a few filling-out pounds. I'm a great size for any and all your action adventures but also a great size for being your BFF. I'm pretty quiet, have a super sweet disposition and get along great with other dogs. I could learn to tolerate a cat but it would probably be best if my home was cat free. I'm house and crate trained and let me tell you, that's a fantastic bonus for my new family. I also do well on the leash and love going for my daily walks! Do you need a BFF? A constant in your life? A lil cohort up for any crime you want to try? Hey, look no further, I'm just the gal you're looking for!!!!!

Story
Momo was born 10/14/2022. I purchased him for $800 and drove an 8 hour round trip to Wisconsin to get him. He was 8 weeks old at the time. We wanted a 2nd dog for ourselves and as a friend to our first dog (also a male). For the first year both dogs got along fine with no fights. A couple months ago we introduce a 3rd dog to the house and since then momo and our original dog have been at each other. It has gotten to the point where they need to be completely and permanently separated. We don’t not have the ability to accommodate keeping 2 dogs separated so with a very heavy heart we are looking to rehome him. Momo is a beautiful and loving dog. He loves to play and cuddle and is very high energy. He has been on an organic grain feee diet since we got him. He’s been worshipped, cared for and loved but we cannot keep him anymore. Thank you for reading and please let me know if you have any questions. Located in Farmington, Minnesota.

Story
Hi! My name is Hank and I am from Kentucky. From the foster: This is Hank he is a 1 year old Boston Terrier weighing in at a compact size of 20lbs. He has a handsome "Tuxedo" black & white coat with big eyes, pointed ears & little swirly tail. He is the most affectionate, friendly, easy-going by nature dog I have ever had the privilege to meet. Hank could literally be happy in any environment, adapting to new situations with little to no hesitations. As long as you say it's ok he will instantly believe you. Once he arrived at our home he needed little to no introductions to our 5 kiddos, 2 resident dogs & 1 foster dog, they were all instantly his friends. Hank loves to play & fetch toys but once tuckered out he turns into the biggest couch potato taking in all the pets & cuddles he can. With this being said he is a "vocal player between a whine with excitement & the cutest growl these are his happy noises. He also is a beautiful singer who can howl along with you but only if prompted too. He snores which in my opinion is just the best sound. Hank loves to go for walks down our gravel roads sniffing away at the ditches. He is a pro with his harness & leash on. Hank is crate trained to sleep in at night, he gives out a few whimpers to see if I will cave to let him out but once he realizes it's bedtime he snuggles into his dog bed & blankets & goes right to sleep. Hank is what I would say is potty trained. He clearly understands let's go potty as he runs to the door. He currently is free ranging our main living space which is all hardwood, but I do make sure I take him out first thing in the am when let out of crate, after hard plays, after naps, before bedtime etc. He is a typical male and does lift his leg. We are working on bell training at the moment. Hank enjoys being with his humans, he loves car rides, you open the door he jumps right in, he is looking for his next car ride to his furever home could this be You?

These pups are in Minneapolis, Minnesota too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Look, I’ll invite you to my monologue in a second, but the first thing I gotta do is destroy this rope. Alright, let me lay some ground rules. Never trust anyone with all your money, you’ll end up in some ponzi scheme and lose it. Second, don’t open up to a therapist, next thing ya know, you’ll be talking about your childhood and the doc will ask you question after question and the floodgates will open. I tried it once as an adult, and I cried like a baby for 10 days straight.   I’m Danny DeVito, some call me the entertainer, some the snuggler, and I’ll tell ya straight from the horse's mouth, I’m a short stack of the best kind of French Bulldog on the market. 20 lbs of straight muscle this guy. I got other nicknames like HouDanny because I’m a sneaky prankster, I disappear and I sniff around where I ought not to, so ya gotta keep an eye on me. You’ll find me if ya just use your own schnozz because I got that earth shattering gas sometimes that smells like I ate a jar of bean dip. I am kinda cute though because my foster mother calls me Wiggle Pig. I accept it because my snores are adorable and I’ll greet you using my whole body.   I’ll tell ya what makes me happy, being around a human that will accept my attention and give me toys. What else? Baths. Sittin’ under hot water,  relaxin’, having a good time, there’s no other dog that could soap-up like me, it’s like an oasis, I’d do it for hours if I could. While I’m doing that, why don’t ya grab me one of those nylon bones and put it on some blankets, or a cozy spot. And ugh, food too. I’ll eat anything. That’s my biggest motivator, treats and grub, that will give me a taste of the good life.   Going down stairs wasn’t meant for my frog body, be ready to watch me tumble after two steps. Do us both a favor and carry me down. If I gotta number two I’ll bark, but number one, we gotta work on routine and schedule. Also I'm still trying to figure out the leash thing, but I don’t go far from my foster ma when I’m outside as it is. Speaking of, when we have snow outside, I think, “what is this nonsense?!”, and I’ll run back complaining in discontent if I’m in a yard. The snow hits my belly, and doggone it's cold!! I’ve learned quickly that people are great to sit on and get warm. I’ll probably conk out there while you watch the tube. Actually, you’ll probably conk out with me because I'll wake you up everyday at 6:00 a.m. barking if I'm in a crate because I gotta use the bathroom. Cocka-doodle-doo to you my friend. Haha, the early bird catches the worm.   I can be around cats and dogs, or a crew of both, but I don’t require one in my new home. Not sure how I am around kids, I haven’t met them. If you say “outside” or “come” I’m gonna pretend I didn’t hear that, maybe I did, maybe I didn’t, just say it louder because my ADHD probably got the best of me. So what do ya say, do you think you want to be my new best friend? *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    Bulldogs are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.   In addition to normal pre adoption surgeries, Danny Devito also had surgery on his nares and soft palate to improve the quality of his breathing. This is reflected within her adoption fee. Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Bulldog Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs.
