Story
Welcome Pumpkin to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2-year old Boston Terrier/Lab or Cattle Dog is our best estimate. She has a rounded head with an upturned nose which has helped us come to this breed mix. She knows sit and will sit nicely for a treat. She likes treats and takes them nicely out of your hand. She likes toys and will give up her toy easily. She is good on leash even though she does pull some. She is very happy and really likes attention. She is good with the dogs that she has met at the shelter. She is also good in her kennel. She is an adorable dog and will make some lucky family a wonderful companion. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is vaccinated, spayed, healthy and ready for her forever home. She would be a great family companion and would be great with a moderately active family. She is active but will calm down and be relaxed after a small amount of activity. She in our opinion a perfect dog. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She moderately sheds and weighs about 40 pounds. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to Broken Clock Brewing & Celebrate the "Dog Days of Summer" (1712 Marshall St NE Suite 100, Minneapolis, MN 55413) for an Adoption Event on Saturday July 27th 2:00-4:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   Hey there, I'm Chloe! I may be small in size, but my ears … ahhhm, I mean my personality is larger than life! I'm a Boston Terrier with heaps of energy and a love for all things fun. At home, I'm a social butterfly who adores people, especially my foster mom. You'll often find me tagging along wherever she goes, eager for some quality time together. When it comes to playtime, I'm all about it! Whether it's zooming around the backyard with my canine pals or playing tug-of-war with my foster mom, I'm always up for a good time. I have a mischievous side too—I can't resist grabbing clothes from the laundry pile for a playful game of chase! Catch me if you can – I might pretend I can’t hear you with my big ears! Hee hee! While I'm still learning the ropes when it comes to leash training, I'm a quick study and eager to please. And although I may be a bit wary of loud noises and commotion, I'm a brave girl at heart. Overall, I'm just a lovable pup looking for my forever home. If you're searching for a furry friend who's equal parts playful and affectionate, look no further—I'm Chloe, and I can't wait to be your loyal companion! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) for an Adoption Event on Sunday July 28th 10:30-11:30 am. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   Hi, I'm Patti, a 7-year-old Boston Terrier with a big heart and a lot of love to give! I weigh about 20 pounds and am looking for my forever home. Let me tell you a bit about myself! I'm a sweet and mostly quiet girl who loves to cuddle. I'm happiest when I'm snuggled up with my humans, giving kisses, or napping in my cozy bed. I do have a medical issue – reflux – so I take medication daily and need to sit in a Bailey chair for my feedings. But don't worry, it's all manageable, and I'm quite used to my routine. At home, I'm a calm companion who loves to be outside for a bit before heading back inside for more cuddles. My snores are loud but oh-so-cute, adding a bit of charm to my nap time. Toys aren't really my thing, but I'm always open to trying new ones. I adore kids and like spending time with them. I get along great with the other dogs in my foster home, but I do have a high prey drive, so I tend to chase the cats. I'm working on it, but I'd probably do best in a home without cats. I'm not picky about whether I live with other dogs as long as my humans are home most of the time. I sleep all night in my kennel and wake up ready to start the day as soon as I hear you're up. If something alarms me or if someone is at the door, I'll bark to let you know. I flinch a bit when you first go to pet me, but once I realize I'm safe, I love getting all the pets and love. I know a couple of commands like "Come" and "Go Potty," and I'm 95% potty trained. I'm also crate trained, though I do bark a bit when you leave before settling down. I'm a bit fearful of new things and freeze on a leash, so a fenced yard is a must for me to feel safe and secure. I'm all about cuddles, kisses, and being fed – that's my idea of a perfect day! If you're looking for a chill, loving pup to add to your family, I might just be the perfect match for you. I can't wait to meet my forever family and give them all the love I have! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Baxter is what they call me, but you can call me big ol’ buddy ol’ pal because I’ll be honest, I don’t discriminate when it comes to finding friends. I have a heart of gold for people of all ages. Dog walks by? I’ll say hi. Kids playing in the yard? I want to join in. Company filling the house? You guessed it, I’ll be the center of attention if you let me. I’m hoping to find a best friend that will train and play with me. I don’t mean to brag, but my energy level is at an all time peak for my age. Granted, there are times when all I want to do is lounge like a potato, I'd say that’s a healthy balance for a dude like me. While I enjoy playing around the yard, I would love to travel the world, even if that means going on a hike around the area. New scenery brings new life out of me, and so I might start to act a little silly and playful on the way there. Maybe if I’m a good boy you’ll snag one of those big bones or yak chews on the way home. Actually, who am I kidding, I’ll eat anything you put in front of me. With that said, I’m in the chewing phase of life, so stuffed animals or something to keep my chompers occupied would be great.  I don’t tend to raise my voice, so if I’m barking it’s probably a good idea to check out the situation. The only place I really tend to bark is my crate. I'm not a huge fan of that place, I’m meant to be free. However, I’ll go to bed when you say so, I’ll eat when you tell me it’s time to eat and I’ll only use the bathroom outside. I love having a fenced yard, so I’d love one in my future home. I don’t go on walks everyday, but when I do I’m great on my leash and I know commands like sit, come, outside, and go potty. If you don’t have a fence, we’d  just need to go on some walks each day together and be leashed while I potty in the yard.  I enjoy being around other dogs, but I don’t require a companion and if I do end up having one, it could be a learning experience as we get to know each other. If you’re looking for a friendly good boy with high energy, I’ll be 38 lbs of just that! I can your best friend, wherever I end up, all I ask for in return is love! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi there! I’m Boston Cream Pie, a 4-year-old female Boston Terrier weighing in at a petite 20 lbs. I’m still learning about life as a family pet and enjoy a peaceful, quiet atmosphere. When there’s a lot of noise, I prefer to quietly sit in my crate and come out to explore once things calm down. Because of this, I’d do best in a home with no kids or only older kids who understand my need for tranquility. I’m a bit nervous around new people but I’m very tolerant. I do better when I have another dog to follow around, though I don’t interact with them much. I’m just starting to learn about toys and treats—I love picking up toys and shaking them as hard as I can! I don’t really play with them beyond that, but I REALLY like bones and bully sticks. I prefer eating my meals in peace, without anyone watching me, but I do sneak a bite from the other dogs’ bowls when everyone’s around. I’m working on my potty training and doing well on a schedule. I’m also crate trained and feel safe in my crate. I do need a fenced yard because I’m not leash trained yet and can be a flight risk due to my fear of new things. Having another dog around helps me learn the ropes, get into a routine and learn to trust people. One of my best qualities is that I rarely bark. I’m a calm and sweet girl, very gentle when taking treats, and would be a great addition to a quiet home. If you’re looking for a gentle, watchful companion who enjoys a peaceful environment, I might be the perfect match for you! Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. Story
Hi! I'm Neo. I'm from Missouri! From his foster: Neo is incredibly sweet and shy. He is potty trained on a schedule, and he has alerted us that he needed to go out with a quirky little howl a couple of times. He is already very attached to our resident dog and follows him around the house or cuddles with him on a shared dog bed. He doesn't seem to mind our kids but steers clear of them. Neo has limited vision. He gets around just fine, but it seems to contribute to significant anxiety. He would do well in a low key household with another dog to help him feel comfortable. His adopters will need a lot of time and patience to bring him out of his shell. Cats are unknown.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My name is Live Wire, otherwise known as Libby by my foster family.  I am super social and want to say HI to every person or animal I meet. My foster Mom says I’m really smart because I’m a fast learner.  I have quickly learned how to sit and be patient, especially for a treat. I enjoy going for walks with my 2 foster dog siblings and do great on a leash.  I love to play and cuddle with them too and if you let me, I love to cuddle and nap with my people too.  At first, I didn’t like to be left alone when my foster mom first got me but now I’m doing much better but sometimes cry for a little bit when I first go in the kennel.  Otherwise I calm down and sleep all night. I’m a puppy so sometimes I have accidents but if you keep me on a schedule, I will do all of my business outside. If you are looking for a furever, loyal companion, I am your girl.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination. Story
Meet Gia! This 2-year-old, 16.5-pound Pug/Chihuahua mix was adopted from us about a year and a half ago but was returned due to her owner’s health issues. Gia is a lively and playful girl who loves to interact with other small dogs, though she can be a bit bossy at times. She also enjoys spending time outside, playing or sunbathing.Gia is both potty trained and kennel trained, making her an easy addition to any home. Shes great with calm kids who are gentle and patient. She’s looking for a loving family who can appreciate her spirited personality and provide her with the care and attention she deserves.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.July 26, 2024, 4:53 am

Story
Meet Whimsy! She’s an adorable little pug mix about 3 years old and 10 pounds. Whimsy is a feisty little lady with so much love to give. She’s energetic and loves to play fetch with toys and run. She’s a dream on a leash, always looking for your clues about what to do next. She’s very eager to please and obedient. l do not think she’d had any exposure to potty training, but she’s learning quickly that when we go outside, we go potty. When she does go potty inside, it’s usually on a pee pad. She doesn’t love getting into her crate, but once there settles down quickly and sleeps a solid 8 hours in the crate with no issues. She hardly ever barks. She does need work on resource guarding from other dogs: food, people, favorite lounging spots and - to a lesser extent - toys. But with the right home, she’s sure to thrive!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      Hello, my name is Cornelia. I am a very affectionate and smart young adult female French Bulldog/Beagle mix who loves to follow my family everywhere and be as close to them as I can. Since I’d rather spend time with my people, toys have yet to pique my interest, but I enjoy going on leashed walks, exploring my surroundings, watching the squirrels, and I really loves me some treats! In fact, I’m very food motivated and get so excited when I know treats are involved that I start jumping for joy! My family is trying to help me learn that remaining calm while awaiting treats is not only good etiquette but quite frankly, more lady-like. All I have to say about that is…I will try! Hee, hee!! I have not met any cats, but I love to play with other dogs. I don’t have a lot of experience with kids, but I have been good with the few I’ve met thus far. I do not like being left alone and will bark if I am, so hopefully my family will be home with me most of the time.  I am still working on potty training and I’m pretty vocal when first put in that cave you humans call a “kennel/crate”, but I do know what “sit” means. A forever home without shared walls would be ideal - bark bark! I am a super sweet girl with a friendly disposition who is simply looking for my fur-ever home with a patient, unconditionally loving family that will NEVER give up on me! If you’ll be my new family, I promise to love you with every ounce of my being, and we will have the most amazing life together. Love Cornelia *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs.
