Meet Fawn! This little guy was adopted and returned for not getting along with kids. He’s been in a foster home the past few weeks to help us determine the best fit for him. He also needs another dog to play with in his forever home.He would love a home where there’s a person who’s home a lot. He plays a lot with his dog friends. He also LOVES to cuddle after play time. He’s potty trained, and knows to go in his crate when you say the word! He does bark at the cat, but he’s not aggressive with her. Nova is a gem! She is happy all of the time. She’s got pep in her step and dainty so we sometimes call her princess. She adores being pet and will sit next to you for snuggles, especially if you have a warm blanket. She loves to rough and tumble with our family dog and is a force to be reckoned with in a game of tug of war. She loves her squeaky toys and getting her little nose in to everything. She’s curious and nosey! She sleeps through the night in her kennel, is learning how to walk on a leash and potty training. She brings so much joy. Nova is a nearly 6 month old puggle and weighs about 17 pounds.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  I’ve heard it’s good to let humans know all about you, so take a seat because I have lots to share.  I’m looking for a forever home here but require one that will allow me the space and time I need to come out of my shell.  I was a momma before I was even one year old so I’m just starting to explore all the things I missed out on, like running around a fenced yard, playing with other dogs and living in a house.  I was terrified of humans when I first arrived in MN and even human contact.  I’m now beginning to learn that humans can be warm and loving.  I’ve just started following my foster mom around, taking food from her hand and sleeping at her feet (occasionally I will give them kisses even)!  But as for petting, I need more time for that.  I even hope you’ll slowly acclimate me to fun and positive outings/experiences but just know I’ll be very timid until I feel safe and comfortable.  Do you know what my foster mom said?  “I bet once she is socialized to humans and going out, I get the impression she will be a little queen and sassy pants love bug!” Some things I’ll need in my forever home are a fenced yard, another dog (smaller ones are all I’ve been around) and someone who’ll give me the space and time I need to learn to be comfortable enough to come out of my shell. I enjoy running about the fenced yard with other dogs, chew on bully sticks, nap in comfy beds and napping on feet.  I am crate and potty trained too!  We are still working on leash training and that may take a while.  And I may bark a little when left alone but quiet down after a minute or two.  I do have dry eye so I’ll likely need to be on drops for my entire life.  I’ll pass on agility, jumping off sofas and extreme sports so save my knees. I’ve got luxating patellas (knees) so I’ll have to stay at a healthy weight and monitored when you take me to the vet.  Right now, it does not require surgery, but is something we should keep a watch for in the future. Here is a list of things foster mom said you should know: She rides great in the car in her kennel. Loves to play with other dogs & toys. Has great house manners.  Chews only appropriate things (bully sticks, yak cheese chews, etc.)  Loves food, very food motivated. Likes to be near her family.  Takes her cues from the other dogs in the home.  Adorable, playful, & fun to watch her bloom as she experiences the world and grows in her confidence. Hope to see you soon! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a    particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Early October 2023 two pugs in need were surrendered to us. We call them Lil Waifu & Buddy. These two are extremely bonded, and we need them to be re-homed as a pair. We are unsure of Waifu's age, but we are guessing she is 4. When we found Waifu she had fleas, not spayed, not potty trained, nor trained in the many routines of a loving household. We have 2 pugs of our own and 2 cats, and Waifu does a great job with the other pets. She is doing very well with potty training too. Waifu needs experienced dog owners who understand the needs of pugs. Waifu requires a low stress, and cool environment that she can breathe easy in. If she is stressed, or if the temp is too hot, or if the air quality is not well, she will struggle to breath properly. For this reason, we ask to re-home her to a family with no kids, or other dogs so she will be able to breathe easy in her day-to-day environment. Lil Waifu has so much love to give, and we hope to place her w/ a family that can return that love.

Buddy is good w/ kids, but we prefer Buddy to go to a home with no kids or other dogs so he receives the proper amount of love and attention from his new family, with less stress of children or other dogs in his day-to-day. *Adoption Fee is for both Buddy & Lil Waifu*

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hello, my name is Flounder and I’m an incredibly handsome, quiet, & happy-go-lucky young adult English Bulldog who loves attention from anyone willing to give it to me! Hee, hee!! I admit that I can be a bit clingy and will jump up on mom’s legs or lap for attention and according to her, jumping on people is bad etiquette… so although I don’t understand why it’s frowned upon, I am working on staying down. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that I’m one of those ‘foodie’ types too. Not only do I enjoy chewing on Benebones, but I love all treats too! Hint, hint! I’m good with kids, cats, & other dogs and I like to follow my resident doggie pal around so much that I would love to have a companion at my new home but it’s not a requirement. I do fine with baths & will even tolerate foster mom cleaning my ears & the skin folds on my face; I am very good about going poo outside but not so much for potty, so I wear a belly band/diaper inside to avoid any embarrassing accidents. I am also leash & crate trained but I admit that I may grunt a bit when first in the kennel/crate. I can use stairs, but I prefers not to and will usually just stand at the top of them and wait for foster mom to carry me down so hopefully my new home won’t have any stairs! Anyway, I am a wonderfully sweet guy who is simply looking for the fur-ever home I so richly deserve with YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on me. I promise I’m worth it, I will love you bigger than the universe, and I will make your world a MUCH happier place! Love, Flounder *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. If you are interested in a    particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   Bulldogs are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.  Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Bulldog Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. To meet Alesandra, please fill out a bulldog app here https://underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/bulldogs/ ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Good with dogs,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey friends, I'm the cutest Boston Terrier pup you ever did see, and I'm here to tell you all about myself! I'm a tiny 7lb Boston Terrier with a heart full of love and a whole lot of fun packed into this little package. Sweet, happy, loving, and fun – that's me in a nutshell! I'm the kind of pup who brings a smile to everyone's face. At home, I'm your little ball of joy, and everywhere else, well, I'm just as charming! Stuffed animal toys are my absolute favorite! Give me a fluffy friend, and I'm a happy pup. Loud noises might startle me a bit, but with a little reassurance, I'm good to go. I'm great with kids under 12 years old. I love their energy, and they love mine! I'm a pro at potty training! I go outside like a champ, especially when it's on a schedule. And when it comes to crate time, I'm a sleepyhead – no fuss, just peaceful dreams. I occasionally take a stroll on a leash, and I do it like a pro. No issues here – just a pup enjoying a nice walk. Yep, I'm a social butterfly with dogs of all sizes. I don't mind a playdate or two, but I'm perfectly content being the center of attention! I'm doing great with potty training, and I've mastered the art of being adorable. Get ready for some puppy zoomies and lots of tail wags! If you're looking for a charming, loving, and oh-so-cute Boston Terrier pup, look no further – I'm your girl! Apply to adopt me, and let the adventures begin! *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters.  Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter.  Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized.  If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       Hello! I’m Kenji, an incredibly handsome male Boston Terrier puppy. I may be tiny but I’m mighty! Hee, hee!! I’m a happy-go-lucky boy that loves to play catch with my squeaky ball, eat cheese, explore the yard, and snuggle with my people! That said, I have not met any cats or kids, but I do play well with other dogs. I’m a smart & curious guy who knows what “go potty” means but as a puppy, I’m still learning about things like potty & leash training so I will need lots of patience and a fenced yard. Oh yeah, and I am not a fan of that dungeon you humans call a kennel or crate…just sayin’! Anyway, I’m an adorable boy full of personality & cuteness and all I need now is YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on me. I promise that not only will I love you bigger than life, but I’m a goofy little guy that will make you laugh with my silly antics! Love, Kenji *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a   particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.
