Audra was found stray with an abscess on her back, but it’s been flushed, treated, and she’s now on antibiotics — and through it all, she’s remained the sweetest little girl. Audra has a fantastic personality and temperament. She’s gentle, loving, and so grateful for every bit of care and attention she receives. Her cute pug charm and warm demeanor make her easy to fall in love with. Audra is ready for a safe, cozy forever home where she’ll finally get the love she deserves. 💛🐾

Welcome Nutz to CCPAL Rescue. Nutz is a 3-year-old Chug (Chihuahua/Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He is a quieter dog and likes to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that is more quiet and wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Meet Ringo: The Goofy Gentleman from Tijuana with a Heart of Gold Born around December 21, 2022, Ringo made the journey from Tijuana, Mexico to find his forever home—and he’s brought a whole lot of love (and zoomies) with him. This active, affectionate pup treats every walk like an adventure and every treat like buried treasure. He hasn’t quite mastered toys yet but throw a ball and he’ll chase it like it’s on his personal most-wanted list. Ringo is food motivated—he’d probably learn to do your taxes if you paid him in cheese. His leash manners and housetraining are still works in progress, especially when adjusting to a new space, but with consistency and patience, he quickly learns the ropes and settles in like a true gentleman. He’s working on crate training and does well when he thinks he’s flying solo—he’s still learning that crates can be cozy, not lonely. Ringo adores kids, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and greets every human like a long-lost friend. He’s a dream in the car, a snuggle pro on the couch, and would thrive as a social butterfly at the dog park. Curious about cats, Ringo sometimes gets a little too interested in their mysterious ways, but he’s easily redirected and learns quickly what’s off-limits. He successfully lives with 3 cats in his foster home. He also takes his role as neighborhood watch very seriously and may bark at unfamiliar sights or sounds, so he’d do best in a home without shared walls. This boy was surrendered and needs a home! He is very friendly, happy and loves people. He gets along with other dogs and loves to play! He is just a super boy. He may be housetrained and may get along with cats. We aren't sure of everything he knows. Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders

This handsome Frenchton has had a rough start and is still learning that the world can be a kind, gentle place—but with patience, love, and consistency, he blossoms into the most loyal little companion. Muslin needs a calm, predictable home where he can decompress and take things at his own pace. He’s nervous with new people, loud noises, and sudden movements, so he’ll do best with someone who understands that trust is something to be earned, not rushed. Once he feels safe, though, his true personality shines—he becomes playful, goofy, and affectionate, showing off his silly side and even getting the zoomies around the yard. He’s fully potty trained and very smart—he’ll bark to let you know when it’s time to go outside, when he’s hungry, or if his water bowl needs refilling. Muslin loves bones, toys, and cheese (his favorite treat!), and he enjoys roaming a fenced yard where he can explore freely.  He also really loves belly rubs.  And, be forewarned that he is a sock thief!  He just loves them.   He’s crate trained but may bark a bit before settling down, and he’s still working on feeling comfortable on a leash. Because he can be fearful, a secure fenced yard is a must, and he’d prefer a quieter home without small children. Muslin may take a few days to warm up, but once he chooses you, he’ll love you with his whole heart. If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in helping a shy dog discover safety, comfort, and trust, Muslin will repay your kindness a hundred times over. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  Bulldogs, pugs, and Boston terriers, Brussels Griffons, Pekingese and others are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure this breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average brachycephalic breed owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs. In addition to other surgeries, this dog may have had surgery on their nares and soft palate to improve the quality of their breathing.  This will be partially reflected within her adoption fee. These breeds are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for these breeds usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires a separate application and an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.
