🖤🐾 Meet Tux — Our Little Fighter with a Big Heart 🐾🖤 Tux is an approximately 8-year-old mixed breed (our best guess is a Boston Terrier mix) who is searching for a very special, loving home — the kind of home that sees ability instead of disability and love instead of limitations. 💕 Tux has an old injury to his back that left him paralyzed in his back legs, but this sweet boy has learned how to navigate the world in his own way. Tux will come with a wheelchair, and while it can be used when needed outside, he truly prefers not to use it and really doesn’t like it. When placed in the wheelchair, Tux usually just lays down and lets you know it’s not his thing. Inside the house, he actually gets around well on his own without it and is very comfortable doing so. 💙 Because of his injury, Tux wears a diaper and is not potty trained, so his future family will need to be comfortable with that extra care. In return, you’ll get a dog who is incredibly loving, gentle, and appreciative of every bit of kindness shown to him. 🥹🐾 Tux is around 21 pounds, does great with other dogs, and is good with kids, making him a wonderful companion for the right household. One thing you’ll learn quickly about Tux — he is OBSESSED with squeaky toys! 🧸😂 He is always on a determined mission to find and remove the squeaker, and it’s impossible not to smile watching him work. Tux was dumped at a shelter in Kentucky, but despite everything he’s been through, his spirit is still full of love. He’s resilient, affectionate, and just wants a safe, understanding home where he can be loved exactly as he is. 🖤🐶 If you’ve ever thought about opening your heart to a special-needs dog, Tux may be the one who steals it. Tragedy has struck one of our adopter families, leaving this deeply bonded mother-daughter pair urgently in need of a new home.In January 2022, sweet Daisy came to us and delivered a litter of puppies in our care. She and one of her babies, Izzy, were adopted togetherand theyve been inseparable ever since. Izzy has always been a mamas girl.This week, their world was turned upside down. The woman who gave them a loving home was tragically killed in a car accident. Her family cant keep the dogs and has asked us to take them back.Now Daisy and Izzy need someone to give them a second chancetogether, if at all possible. Izzy is the perfect girl: Great with kids Good with cats and dogs Loving and easygoing Daisy (the mama) is more sensitive:Shes fearful of strangers and takes time to warm up.She is not aggressive, but has occasionally nipped when scared.She needs a calm, patient home that will let her adjust at her own pace.We know its a hard time for dogs needing homes. But we also know theres someone out there who can offer these girls the stability and love theyve lost. Zeus is a10 year-old Brindle Boston mix, 33 pounds of muscle, with a gentle mouth; he's a very loving guy who loves to play with dogs his size.  He's a bit energetic for smaller dogs, but played with our 10# puppy every day. Zeus would love to have a 6 foot fenced yard with room to run and play; he used to jump our 4 foot fence.  He doesn't like cats and doesn't like having his nails cut. Up to date on shots, heartworm negative, crate and house trained.  He's a great dog. Please send your phone number to learn more about Zeus.
