Story
Archie is a 4 year old Boxer/ American bulldog mix that has a story to tell! He was recently found, malnourished with an ear and skin infections. His infections are being treated and he is getting good nutrition! He was found to have a microchip but the phone number attached is disconnected and no one has replied to the emails. With further digging, we found out that that he was originally from Louisiana and has been adopted out from the SPCA there twice. The second time he was relinquished was due to his ongoing skin issues. This is due to allergies and will require lifelong management by whoever wants this sweet boy in their life. Getting to know your local vet well or going to a animal dermatologist would be a great idea for him. His finder is unable to keep this love bug due to number of pets allowed where she is. He is housebroken and well mannered. He does well with kids, cats and other dogs and knows a long list of tricks! He loves car rides and is very gentle. He is neutered, heartworm negative, current on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. He just got a proheart injection so he is protected from heart worms for 6 months. We are asking a $100 adoption fee. Please contact Lisa is interested at (908) 230-0411 or lisa.g.brody@gmail.com.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This handsome, good boy is Truman and he came to us as a dumped stray.  We believe Truman was born around 1/18/22 and is a stunning black with white Boxer/Bully mix.  Truman is very sweet, friendly and loving and will make a wonderful addition to almost any home.  Truman is a young boy and likes to play with other dogs but we have not had him around cats (if you submit your application, we can cat test).  We took Truman to our Amazing Vets because we noticed his tail looks 'wonky'.  Well after x-rays, it looks like he has a congenital issue with some of the vertebrae in a couple spots on his tail. This deformity in his tail is not bothering him at all now, but we want to mention that he may need amputation of his tail later in life, if it causes arthritic related problems. Truman is a medium sized dog, so we like to recommend a home with a fenced in backyard and/or plans for daily exercise and socialization. If you're not in a position to adopt, Truman would love to be in a Foster home while waiting for his forever home! Amazing Grace Bully Rescue is a foster based rescue in the Pensacola, Florida area.  We do not have a physical building. If you would like to meet any of our pups, the first step is to fill out our online application so we can contact you. Truman is neutered, current on shots, rabies vaccine, and a registered microchip. If you would like to adopt this Amazing dog, please fill out our online adoption application at www.amazinggracebullyrescue.org If you have any questions, please text your question to 850-723-2037.  You may also send a message to our Amazing Grace Bully Rescue Page on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or send an email directly to amazinggracebullyrescue@gmail.com Disclaimer:  We are located in the Pensacola, Florida area and will consider local applicants first, especially with puppies since we use a vet in the local area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 20, 2024, 3:08 am

Story
Meet Bernard! This adorable boy is about 2-3 years old and was dropped off at a high kill shelter. He was definitely not treated well before and someone actually tried to shot him. He deserves a second chance! He is a bit shy but it doesn’t take him very long to come out of his shell. He is the biggest baby that wouldn’t hurt a fly. He loves to cuddle! Bernie also loves to play other dogs and is great with cats.

Story
UPDATE!! &#226&#156&#168 Meet Pua,  our resilient one and a half year old boxer/bully mix, a survivor of a challenging past. Despite facing adversity when attacked by another dog, she has shown incredible strength. This 40 lb girl wears her scars as a testament to her courage. She is getting ready to undergo training to help her build confidence and understanding that not all dogs pose a threat. She should be ready to go sometime in March. We will be looking for a  patient and loving forever home, to embrace the opportunity to offer her the understanding and support she needs.  With her gentle spirit and a heart full of love, she'll be ready to embark on a new chapter. Could you be the compassionate soul to provide her with the safe and loving forever home she deserves? Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you! Story
UPDATE!! This pretty girl is Princess! We have had her since she was a small puppy who came basically feral. Her foster has put in a lot of TLC and this girl has just blossomed. That once terrified girl is now confident and oh so sweet. She handled all the commotion at the large adoption event like a champ. Not scared, walked on a leash perfectly and greeted every person with a tail wag. She’s young still around 8-9 months old. She weighs 45 lbs. We believe she is a Boxer mix with maybe terrier or bulldog. She is very loving and binds with her people hard. Still puppy so bores easy if left alone so we recommend crating when not home and she does perfect in a crate. She’s great with all size dogs and does well with her fosters grandchildren. Princess is fully up to date, altered and ready for a home to call her own. All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact any of the vet clinics we work with, as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue. Thank you for your understanding. Story
August is a 3 year old girl who came to the City of Mobile Animal Services late last year. Cyclists reported seeing a dog in the woods in a rural location over the course of a week. Someone had left food and water for her, and she was emaciated and scared. Animal Control Officers investigated and found her peering at them from behind a tree. I'm scared, she barked at them! They laid in the leaves with her, tossing her treats until she moved closer and closer. Soon, she was tentatively eating food from their hands and they were able to slip a leash on her. Today, she has learned that humans are alright again, through working with our staff. August absolutely loves other dogs! She will play and play with any new canine friend, large or small. She loves toys and treats. She would enjoy a home with other confident playmates who can continue to show her the way. August can be fostered or adopted. This is just one of many animals at the City of Mobile Animal Services. For information on any of our animals, call our office at 251-208-2800 or email us at AnimalShelter@cityofmobile.org. Applications to foster or adopt can be found on the City of Mobile Animal Services website: https://www.cityofmobile.org/departments/city-of-mobile-animal-services/. Thanks for opting to adopt!
