Story
Izzie is a beautiful Brindle Boxer/Terrier mix who is approximately 5 years old and weighs 50 pounds. She was found living on the streets in a neighborhood in Weslaco, Texas near the border of Mexico. Everyone knew who she was, but no-one claimed her as their own. She was pregnant and had her babies under an abandoned trailer home. Local children heard the puppies crying and they crawled under the house to pull all of them out! She did a good job of taking care of her babies. She is just such a sweet mama dog. All of that is behind her now! Izzie is such sweet girl with the most wonderful disposition. She is friendly, playful and is always happy to jump in the car and go on an adventure. She loves everyone she meets, and her tail is always wagging. Izzie does get along well with the other dogs in her group here at the rescue and is learning that toys are pretty cool, too. She is crate trained for her meals and for sleeping but if you asked Izzy, curling up next to her people in a warm bed would be a-ok with her as well. We just love this girl and can see her doing well in just about any family environment! NEW VIDEO! https://youtu.be/yd3Un_JT2N0?si=SUUToA0OMHBwvkqg Izzie is located in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to St Augustine, FL on December 20th. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $450. The fee includes the transport cost. Story
Calvin is hoping Christmas comes early for him this year and he finally finds his forever home Cal was found as a stray in an extremely rural part of the state and wound up in a completely outdoor animal control with just seven kennels to work with. He was at risk for euthanasia numerous times before we were finally able to step in and help, when a trusted volunteer picked him up for us in July, after having spent roughly two months fighting for his life. As November comes to a close, we just can’t believe this playful, sweet boy is still looking for his humans. Our hearts break at the thought that Calvin has spent over half his young life homeless Cal is about a year and a half old and such a good size at 45-50 pounds. He spends his days playing with all his doggy friends, but his nights all alone in boarding. Calvin is equal parts snuggle buddy and adventure partner, he is wildly dog friendly, great in the car, loves all people big and small, and is even house trained! He struggles with seperation anxiety but who can blame him for not wanting to be alone when that’s all he’s ever known? Cal is looking for a family that can show him that they will always come back - that can show him patience and grace as he learns that being alone is no longer his normal. Can’t adopt? Consider fostering this holiday season Moving into a foster home would give Calvin the stability and guidence that he needs to tackle his separation anxiety AND make space for the next dog at risk. Fostering really does save lives, y’all December 1, 2025, 7:37 am

Story
Hello! This is Nala. She was born January 23rd, 2019. Due to a recent move, Nala and my other two dogs are no longer allowed to be inside dogs. Nala has always had bad food aggression, but it is something we have been able to manage over the years. Now that they are outside, it is a lot harder and they have all been fighting. I would love to find loving homes for all of my girls as much as it breaks my heart. Thanks!

Story
I am a sweet, happy, and goofy boy who is just patiently waiting to be your new best friend! I enjoy going for walks and playing in the yard. I also love making new friends - both human and canine! I get along great with other dogs, and I have an affectionate side, too - so snuggles are my favorite. I’ve still got that fun, youthful energy, but I also love just hanging out and cuddling. I am also housebroken! I’d thrive in a home where I can get lots of love and attention. I’m sweet, smart, and promise to make you smile every single day. If you are looking for a loyal, easygoing goofball companion who is past all the puppy chaos, but still full of life, I would love to be your new best friend! Weighs around 60 lbs - House-trained! - Great with other dogs! - Affectionate, loving boy!

Story
I am a friendly, handsome boy who sadly ended up in the shelter after being surrendered because my owner could no longer care for me. However, I should mention that I walk nicely on a leash and already know basic commands, such as “sit” and “paw”. I would genuinely love a forever family and home where I can spend my golden years. I play nicely with other dogs and seem to be already housebroken! Don’t let my age fool you! I still have so much love left to give. I‘m the kind of companion who is just happy to be by your side, whether we go on a sniffari or relax on the couch. If you’re looking for a best friend to share life’s simple pleasures with, I am so ready to meet you. Weighs around 60 lbs. - Good with other dogs! - House-trained! - Was here as a puppy ):
