Hi… I’m Duke. I’m about 3 years old, and I’m still figuring this whole “being a dog” thing out. I didn’t always have someone to show me how, so some stuff is new to me—like meeting people, trusting right away, and knowing I’m safe and feel free to eat the food i need to stay healthy Because of that, I can be a little shy and nervous when I first meet you. I might hang back at first… just watching, making sure everything’s okay. The people here say I’m learning more every day. and on the road to a good weight recovery I’m learning that gentle voices are good, that hands can mean pets, and that I don’t have to be so worried all the time. What I really need is a home that will keep teaching me—someone who understands that I’m not “perfect” yet, but I’m trying really hard. I think I’d do best with someone who can spend lots of time with me, helping me build confidence and showing me how to be the best boy I know I can be. I'm a super smart boy who loves to learn and is always eager to please. I can be a little shy and nervous when meeting new people, so slow introductions are a must for me. Once I know you're a friend, though, you'll discover that I'm one of the sweetest, most affectionate dogs around. Sometimes I'll play with it all by myself, and other times I'd love for you to join in on the fun! I also have a funny habit of forgetting how big I am—I often think I'm lap-dog sized and would be more than happy to squeeze in next to you for cuddles. My dream home is a place where I can relax and enjoy the simple things in life: a few tasty treats, daily adventures, and plenty of snuggles sprinkled throughout the day. I'm still learning that I don't always have to be the big tough guy. Ellie is a very sweet girl. She is turning 1 one June 25th and has an appointment to be spayed on the 24th. If she is adopted before then, I will still pay for the spay if needed! Ellie loves to cuddle and is a blanket hog. Her favorite games are tug and tag. She is not yet potty trained, though if she has free access to a yard it won't be an issue. Ellie is not a reactive dog, though she can get overwhelmed when meeting new dogs because she is just awkward. She can get possessive over toys, but can be redirected. She is not food motivated or food possessive. Her motivation is largely toys, pets, and positive phrases. She has not met a person she does not like! She has gotten much better and has not jumped on a new person when meeting them. Ellie has not been around children other than seeing them when we are on walks. She is a very good dog. She needs a home that can support her high energy.

This is Nacho! He is 3 years old about to be 4 in July/August. He is full grown at 40lbs. We do not know his real birthday. We got nacho from the Hayden companions shelter 3 years ago and he has been just an amazing dog. Sadly he no longer fits into our home with 5 month old baby that’s about to be on the move and it absolutely breaks our hearts to do this. He absolutely loves people but he needs to be in a home with NO other animals due to being reactive. Also he is best with older kids not toddlers. He is an absolute ball of energy and loves to run laps around the yard. He lives a very active life style but doesn’t mind winding down and loves to cuddle. He is potty trained and has a kennel that we put him into when we leave the house but he does not enjoy being put into it. He has had training at method k9 in post falls and knows basic commands. We would love to see him go to a good caring home that will work with him!
