Story
Meet Bella – Waiting Over 5 Years for Her Forever Family Sweet Bella has been with Spring Branch Rescue for over 5 years, hoping for a family to finally see her!  As a puppy, Bella was kept in a crate for long hours. All she wanted was to play with the kids in her home, but instead she spent her days confined. Despite her rough start, she’s still full of love, joy, and personality. Bella is playful, affectionate, and loves being part of the conversation (yes, she’s a little vocal!). She’s crate-trained, loves her playtime, and thrives when she’s included in family life. She’s on a special salmon or beef-based diet for mild skin allergies — no poultry for this girl.  Bella deserves a home where she can be free to love, play, and belong. She’s waited long enough — could you be the one she’s been dreaming of? Not in Texas? No problem! We offer transport to the Pacific NW and East Coast. Bella is ready to be part of your family — forever. ##2149754##

The Best 8-Year-Old “Puppy” Around! Looking for a dog who’s got just the right mix of wisdom and zoomies? Meet Gunner! At 8 years old, he’s got life figured out—except for why squirrels won’t be his friends. Why He’s Awesome: Knows important commands like “sit” and “go lie down” (though he sometimes pretends not to hear after “no more treats”). Crate trained—his “man cave” is his happy place. Leash trained, but if another dog walks by… let’s just say he gets very enthusiastic about making new friends. Neutered and fully vaccinated—basically, a low-maintenance best friend. He’s sweet, playful, and great with people of all ages. If you’re looking for a dog that’s past the puppy chaos but still ready for adventures (or couch naps), Gunner is your guy!  We have fosters all over the Pacific Northwest & East Coast allowing us to post in specific cities. Due to Covid 19 restrictions all Meet & Greets have been cancelled to keep everyone safe. Our adoptable pets are in Houston living with local foster families making the transition into your household a whole lot easier. We will be calling 2 references (Not related to you please). We will be contacting your veterinarian (We work with 1st time owners) to make sure you have vaccinated all your pets yearly, and that all have been spayed/neutered. Story
Meet Maya! Sweet Maya has already endured more loss than most. After her beloved owner tragically passed away in a car accident, no one came forward to care for her. A kind-hearted foster took her in, but due to a battle with cancer, Maya once again found herself needing a safe place—and that’s how she came to us. Despite all she’s been through, Maya is the definition of resilience. She’s calm, easygoing, and deeply loving. She adores human companionship, gets along well with other dogs, and brings a peaceful presence wherever she goes. She’s crate and leash trained, fully vetted, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Maya doesn’t ask for much—just a quiet, loving home where she can finally feel safe and cherished again. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion with a heart full of love, Maya is ready and waiting for you. Our adoption fee includes transport, all age required shots, microchip, & a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. We look forward to receiving your application! We will review it shortly and give you a call to set up a phone interview.  We are thrilled to offer transport services every 3 weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest, and the East Coast, ensuring that these incredible pets can find their way to you no matter where you are. This makes the adoption process smooth and convenient, allowing you to focus on welcoming your new family member with open arms. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. Story
Meet Crunchy Roll Crunchy Roll is a NM blue brindle boxer bulldog blend with an estimated DOB of 5/5/2025. This sweet little guy is a bit shy when first meeting new people, but underneath that nervous exterior is a gentle, loving pup who truly wants to connect. In his foster home, he has already started coming out of his shell more each day, especially when he has another dog around to help him feel safe and confident. His foster parents have noticed he warms up to men fairly quickly.  Crunchy Roll has a smaller stature and is currently around 37 pounds, and he likely will not get much bigger. Basically… fun sized boxer energy.  Crunchy Roll absolutely thrives with other dogs, so his future home must have at least one friendly canine companion. Having a buddy nearby helps him relax, learn, and remember that the world is not such a scary place after all. So far in foster care, Crunchy Roll has shown us that he is: Cat friendly Kid friendly Dog friendly Potty trained Walking nicely on leash Even when he feels unsure, he is incredibly sweet and trying his best to be brave. He is the kind of dog who will deeply bond with his people once trust is built, and watching him slowly gain confidence has already been so rewarding. Crunchy Roll is looking for a patient, loving home that will continue helping him blossom into the best crunchy roll possible. Honestly, once this boy fully settles in, we think his goofy and loving personality is really going to shine. Crunchy Roll comes neutured, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormd. His adoption fee is $200 and includes her leash, collar, ID tag, harness, a sample of the food he has been eating and his medical records. To be considered to adopt, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application. Thank you for checking out our boy!  ##2735813##

Story
Hi… I’m Duke. I’m about 3 years old, and I’m still figuring this whole “being a dog” thing out. I didn’t always have someone to show me how, so some stuff is new to me—like meeting people, trusting right away, and knowing I’m safe and feel free to eat the food i need to stay healthy Because of that, I can be a little shy and nervous when I first meet you. I might hang back at first… just watching, making sure everything’s okay. The people here say I’m learning more every day. and on the road to a good weight recovery I’m learning that gentle voices are good, that hands can mean pets, and that I don’t have to be so worried all the time. What I really need is a home that will keep teaching me—someone who understands that I’m not “perfect” yet, but I’m trying really hard. I think I’d do best with someone who can spend lots of time with me, helping me build confidence and showing me how to be the best boy I know I can be. I promise I’ll give you my whole heart in return. Love, Duke 🐾

Story
Cookie’s been through a lot since arriving in our care, yet she’s always held onto her sweet personality. Recently, she’s had multiple masses removed, undergone dental extractions, and has been working toward a healthier weight. Despite a tough start to this new chapter, Cookie remains gentle, easygoing, and simply a happy, loving dog. We’ve been cheering her on every step of the way, and we’re hopeful her forever family will find her soon and continue the love and support she so deserves. Personality & Traits ~Energy Level: Mixed ~Great with: Adults ~Loves: Couch snuggling, chin scratches, and short walks ~Good to Know: Cookie must go to a home without any other animals—other dogs, cats, and small animals (guinea pigs, chickens, etc.). This pup prefers soaking all the love and attention for herself. Best Home for Cookie Cookie would truly shine in a calm, loving home with a family committed to supporting her wellness journey and embracing the goofy, sweet pup she truly is. She’s dreaming of taking walks by your side as you both cheer each other on, being your binge-watching partner, and sharing smiles with the wonderful people she can finally call her own.

Story
Meet Lovely Lavender! Sweet Lavender is the mama of our Spring Flowers litter. Lavender is associated with healing and often used medicinally or to soothe emotions. It seemed like an apt name for this lovely mama with warm chocolate eyes and stunning merle coloring. Life has dealt this girl a few bumps in the road, but her sweet and loyal personality never faltered. Lavender came to our rescue on March 15, very pregnant. A challenging housing situation made it virtually impossible for her owners to meet the needs of a pregnant mama and her imminent puppies. Her owners surrendered her to us, and our amazing litter foster welcomed this soon to be mama into her home. And just in time, too. Three days later, Lavender welcomed her five puppies of the Spring Flowers litter! A pit bull mix, we estimate Lavender was born in the fall of 2024. She’s full-grown and a medium-sized pup.  Now that her puppies are weaned, Lavender is having a chance to focus on herself and be the fun, playful, young dog she is. And boy does she play! Lavender adores other dogs; she has three pups in her foster home, and she revels in the company. Wrestling, playing chase, a game of tug – you name it, Lavender is up for it. She will do best in a home with other dogs for company; they really encourage her be carefree and relaxed. Lavender’s friendly nature extends to people as well. She loves cuddling with her people, and she recently charmed a crew of fencing contractors at her foster home. With that grin and darling prance, how could she not? She has done well with older kids, and she is currently living with cats. Lavender wants the cats to play with her like her pup friends, so a dog-savvy cat would be best for her. Lavender has adjusted smoothly to living in a home after her earlier unstable life. She’s crate trained and house-trained, and she’s a great sleeper. Lavender is getting used to walking on a leash, and she has never met a plush toy she didn’t love. This sweet, gentle girl is ready for a home of her own with people to love her! Want to meet this gorgeous girl? Fill out an inquiry or visit our website for more information! Ready to adopt? Now what? Please take 3-4 minutes and complete our application form at: www.lilaccitypupproject.org. Our adoption team will spring into action! You will have a phone call conversation with a dedicated adoption counselor, and the adoption team will contact your vet(s), if applicable. Once you have been matched with a dog, a meet and greet will be set up and take place at the foster family's home. After the meet and greet, there will be a home inspection and in-home trial prior to adoption finalization. Lilac City Pup Project is entirely volunteer and foster run, with no kennel facility. Only approved adoption applicants will be able to meet our dogs outside of adoption events. Adoption Donations: $350 for Puppies up to 9 months $300 for Adults 9 months or older *includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, and microchip. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Lilac City Pup Project is a federal 501c3 organization. Not sure you want to adopt, foster first and adopt later! LCPP is always in need of fosters. There is an overwhelming number of dogs who need our help and the more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save. LCPP covers expenses, including food. Fosters provide love and a soft place to crash. Story
Meet Poppy! We are currently taking applications for Poppy, and she will be able to go home with an adopter on May 17, after her spay surgery. Silly and playful, little Poppy is one of five siblings in our Spring Flowers litter. Poppy and her brother and sisters were born in our rescue after her very, very pregnant mother was surrendered to us in March. She has been raised in a home with other dogs, children, and teens, and she is a sweet and curious cuddle buddy who cannot wait to meet her perfect person! Born on March 18, Poppy is a merle pit bull puppy who we estimate will be a large dog. Poppy actively seeks out your affection, and she enjoys chatting with her people (she has a lot to tell you!). This silly, loving, and playful puppy is learning about the world around her and getting lots of attention, cuddling, and playtime. Poppy is growing into a healthy, active, affectionate pup ready for her new home. Want to learn more about Poppy?
