Story
Ladies and gents, meet Sarge! Laying on the couch and taking a dip in the pool are some of his favorite activities, but he won't turn down a walk or a run or a toy he can play with! Sarge is around a year old and a Boxer mix.  He weighs about 45 lbs. he is fully housebroken and does great if he needs to be left alone. He can be shy so if you can be patient, he WILL be your best cuddle buddy friend.  Starfish will include training classes with A Sound Beginning in his adoption fee so that he and his family are sure to get off on the right foot!   The adoption fee of $200 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! If you are interested in adopting/meeting , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet!  *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2024, 4:59 pm

Story
Meet Muffin! She is a deliciously sweet boxer mix girl who is looking for her FURever home. Muffin is around a year old and about 40 lbs. The first thing about Muffin that makes you fall for her is the way she looks at you and the color of her eyes. Muffin would be a great addition to any family that has someone that can be home with her most of the day or works from home.  She can get anxious when not by her humans, but Starfish is committed to helping her new family with training support so that Muffin knows she is always safe. She is a wonderful dog. She has never had any accidents in the house. She is great on walks. She listens and learned how to sit almost immediately. She is very playful and aims to please. Muffin learned to play fetch and loves it. She enjoys activity, but will also lay with you and relax. This sweet girl deserves the best - please complete the application to meet her.  The adoption fee of $200 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. Story
We're thrilled to announce our awesome "Go Big and Go Home" adoption special! We have a bunch of incredible dogs who weigh over 50 pounds that are eagerly waiting to find their forever homes. And guess what? Starting now until the end of February, you can take one of these amazing companions home for just $99! How amazing is that? Don't let this fantastic opportunity pass you by to bring home a furry friend with a big heart. Bellatrix is a cuddly young pup who cannot wait to climb into your lap and show you all the love in the world. He is the perfect balance of sleep and play, and can be found snoring away on the couch shortly after a game of fetch. Bellatrix is also potty and crate trained and cannot wait to show you how good of a boy he can be! Because of his gentle nature, he is good with everyone he meets and will happily accept pets from whoever happens to walk by. If you're looking for a smart and loyal companion, Trix is your boy! All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart: Park in the PetSmart Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. PCH supports a 21-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we are not able to provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
