Story
Meet Zuma. This sweet girl has already proven what an incredible heart she has. Zuma came to us after being surrendered with her three precious puppies, and from day one, she's shown nothing but love, patience, and devotion. She's been the very best mom. Now that her puppies are growing and becoming more independent, it's finally her turn to be cared for and spoiled the way she deserves. She will be spayed prior to adoption

Story
Meet Bodie (aka Brownie)! Estimated Date of Birth: May 3, 2024 Bodie is a handsome Boxer/Pittie mix with a big personality, endless enthusiasm, and a heart full of love. Weighing approximately 40 pounds, this young pup is always ready for his next adventure and brings joy wherever he goes. Bodie loves to run, play, and explore. Whether he's chasing toys in the yard, wrestling with dog friends, or zooming around with excitement, he approaches life with contagious energy and a happy-go-lucky attitude. He thrives in the company of other dogs and has become quite the social butterfly at Hounds Town, where he never misses an opportunity to make new friends and get the party started. As an active young dog, Bodie is looking for a family that can provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and opportunities for play. He would do best in a home with children ages 10 and older who can match his playful spirit and enthusiasm. A home without cats is preferred. When the fun is over, Bodie is more than happy to soak up affection from his favorite people. He's a sweet, loving boy who is eager to bond with a family of his own and continue learning about the world around him. If you're looking for a fun-loving, active companion who will keep you smiling, laughing, and moving, Bodie may be the perfect addition to your family. Apply today to meet this lovable goofball! Story
Hi everyone! So my friends at Joliet Township Animal Control said I needed to introduce myself to the internet world to see if I can boost my visibility here. I keep hearing over and over that I am the longest resident of 125 plus days. Let me tell you my story.Back in December, I was looking about in a neighborhood for some shelter from the cold and found someone`s back porch. They luckily called animal control and I was scooped up by a female officer that put me in her warm van with a blanket. We took a quick ride to this big facility, where I was greeted by a team of smiles faces and treats. They were examining me and said I was skinny, dirty (how rude!), and needed a bath. After a few pokes of some vaccines, they gave me a warm bath and a soft blanket in my kennel and I felt RELIEVED. It`s been a minute since I have had a bowl of food and warm and somewhere soft to lay down. Days past and adoption day finally came and I was thrilled! I could not wait to start meeting new families! As time went on, people came and went and I was puzzled as to why I was never chosen... I met several families with kids and I showered them with kisses and affection. I met couples and I showed them how fun I could be with toys. I sat patiently for treats and gently took them from their hands. But it wasn`t enough and days and days passed and my kennel walls became my new home...I was originally fine with dogs and loved to play but my stress became unbearable. Hearing 25+ dogs in a room constantly would drive you nuts too. I`m okay with other male dogs that are my size but no small dogs or cats. Thank goodness for the staff and volunteers here. They love to keep me busy with long walks, treats, and peanut butter frisbees (my favorite). You can always know where I am because the staff always greet me with a loud `SIDDDDDDDDDYYYY` and I repay them with my shimmy of my butt and tail wags. I just can`t get enough of it and loves to wet them with a kiss. I hope you all share my story and help me find my forever home. I was in roughhhh shape when I came in and I just need a chance. Feel free to check out my full adoption memo at https://www.joliettownshipanimalcontrol.net/adopt/Call my friends at JTAC for details or stop by to see me! I`ll be waiting!

Story
Meet Rudy 💙 Rudy is 5-6 years old and is a deeply affectionate, people-loving boy who thrives on closeness with his humans. He loves cuddling, being petted, and will happily sleep next to you at night. Wherever you go, Rudy is likely to follow — often carrying his favorite soothing toy in his mouth for comfort. He is good with other dogs, big and small. He is also good with little kids. Rudy knows basic commands and is fully housebroken, which makes settling into a new home much easier. He enjoys playtime, especially tug-of-war, and he takes his toy destruction job very seriously (squeaker toys beware!). He walks well on leash and does best wearing a harness, ideally a front-clip harness. He may pull a little and can bark when he sees people out on walks, but he recovers quickly and continues on. This behavior appears to be excitement or uncertainty rather than aggression, and with consistency, patience, and positive training, it continues to improve. Rudy is not a fan of being confined away from his people. He will voluntarily rest in his crate when it’s open and his human is nearby, but being crated while left alone is stressful for him. He would do best in a home that understands this and is willing to help him gradually build confidence with alone time. With stability, routine, and love, Rudy truly shines. He is a cuddly, loyal companion who bonds deeply and brings a lot of joy to those around him. He’s looking for a patient, loving home that will help him continue to grow into the amazing dog he already is. If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $275. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story
Hello, My name is Bonnie and I am a 2 years young boxer mix and I weigh about 50#. If you’re looking for a beautiful, brindle best buddy, I could be your girl! Size: medium. Just under 50 pounds Energy level: medium. I like to get silly and play but I know when to settle and I love a power nap Good with kids: Yes! I love humans of all ages and sizes! My chonky tail wags so hard it shakes my whole body when I see people. I am a total love bug and have discovered the joy of cuddles and belly scratches. Good with dogs: Yes please! I would love a dog sibling. My foster home has dogs of all sizes and I love everyone, even my grumpy old foster brother who is not much fun. I can read the room like a boss and I know who is ready to play and when to back off. Good with cats: Unknown Crates: Yep, I sleep like an unbothered queen in my crate all night and will wait quietly in one while you’re gone. House-training: Still working on this as my foster family learns my cues and I learn their schedule but I understand the concept. Tricks: I know the sit command and am working on shake. I am smart and eager to learn Leash: I am good on a leash and love walks. I pull a little when starting out. I get excited when I see other people and dogs but I am not reactive.
