Story
Meet Willow! Willow came to us as a stray and sadly nobody came for her so she is now searching for a new forever home! Willow is a boxer mix that is about 2 years and weighs about 50 pounds. Willow is a very happy girl that loves attention! Willow loves to run around and play! Willow is mostly housebroken as long as she’s on a good routine. She is good with kids, doesn’t seem to mind the cats and is good with the other dogs. We do require a dog intro with any future k-9 siblings to make sure everyone gets along! Willow is up to date on her vaccinations, dewormed, flea treated, heartworm tested negative, microchipped & spayed! If you are interested in making Willow a part of your family please contact the shelter directly at 989-831-7302! *All adoptions are done by appointment only*

Story
Available to Adopt - Travis Current location – Cleveland Have you ever had that one friend that never seems to age? Always seems to have the energy to do whatever, whenever, wherever? Well, our boy Travis is the canine version of that friend. While he may be considered middle aged on the dog scale, don’t tell him that as he certainly will not believe you. Travis LOVES to be active; he acts much younger than his chronological age. You want to go for a walk? Travis would love to go! You want to take numerous walks a day? Oh, he’ll love that even more.  Travis loves to run and explore and learn new things. Among his favorites are the interactive ‘dog puzzles’ that help keep his mind working and sharp. He is always up for the challenge. But at the end of the day, Travis also knows how to relax and chill while snuggling on the couch.  Travis’ only requirement is that he needs a slow introduction to new people. It’s really not a huge deal and is easily dealt with. He has a protocol that works for him, and it’s easy enough to follow. Once he’s sure visitors are ok, he will do his best to make friends by asking for pets and attention.  Since Travis is such a bouncy, happy guy, he will require a fence (privacy fence is preferred). We love to watch Travis bounce as it’s super cute, but we need to keep him safe. Travis is hoping for an adult only home, as younger children make him a bit nervous. We do not have any history of Travis with cats. He has lived with another dog successfully in the past, but a meet with any potential housemates to ensure compatibility is a must. A submissive dog of similar size might be ok. This boy absolutely deserves a great home. Could it possibly be with you?   ##729425##

Story
Current location - south of Kalamazoo MI Age: 2 years 6 months (Estimated) This boy's past is a mystery. He was found as a stray, where he'd been wandering the same wooded area for quite a while. A kindhearted man started feeding him, but he wasn't able to contain him. Once he contacted us for help, we reached out to our friends at Still Missing Animal Welfare Group, and they were able to trap him. We did a stray hold and searched for owners through the proper authorities, but no owner was found. At that point, we took care of his vetting needs, gave him a regal name, and brought him into foster care. At first, he was pretty scared and reactive, understandably. But, fast forward a few weeks, and this boy sure has blossomed once he felt safe. Duke is a young and active boxer. He loves his people and children, but due to his energy level, it’s best to have kids over 7 to avoid being accidentally knocked over. He would love kids who will play with him. Duke will need a fenced yard due to his high prey drive. Since he was found wandering and living in the woods, we suspect he may have had to hunt for his food at times. Surprisingly, Duke has some healthy training under his belt, as evidenced by his ability to understand commands like “sit” “lay down” “shake” and “speak”. We have been working on “leave it” and “heel”. He is potty trained and currently working on crate training with his foster family.  Duke needs a family that will engage him, take him for rides in the car, and keep up on his skills. He needs some leash training, but does well with a harness. Duke loves to snuggle and give hugs to his people. He uses his nose to nudge you when he wants you to pet him.  Duke was initially not too fond of other canines. We have recently tested him with 2 other dogs his size and he was relaxed and wanting to play. Any resident dogs would require a slow introduction to be certain they're compatible. Cats and small critters are likely a no-go. This handsome boy is the full package. Could he be the one to steal your heart? ##2154326##

Story
Available to Adopt - Gully Current location - Toledo, OH Meet Gully, the boy with the most adorable underbite ever!  And he also comes armed with a full tail, no nub for this boy!  Gully is a typical high energy boxer, but he also knows when to calm down. Gully has a little "cloudy" of a background and there are some things we will never know for sure. Gully came to us as a stray that was in shelter care. He was very skinny, had some compression sores and a nasty infection. These issues have been dealt with, and he has no known medical issues. As for other unknowns, first is an exact age. He was originally estimated at 5 years at the shelter, but our vets and foster have guessed him to be much younger, possibly as young as 2. Gully does take a little time to feel comfortable with new people. This undoubtedly is due to his previous "life".  Once he knows you, he is very friendly and loving and adapts to new routines quickly. He does get startled with new noises outside the home, and will be vocal about it. His foster is working to help build his confidence with new noises and people, and his adoptive home will need to continue with this.  Gully is a highly trainable boy and learns new commands quickly. He is a very smart boy and very receptive to training. We hope to find him a home committed to further training, as he has the ability to go far and excel at it. He has been crate trained, and does well. He is potty trained, though as usual, will likely need a refresher course in his new home as he learns his new environment.  He tends to be more on the submissive side with other dogs. He is not a food snatcher, and if he has his preference, he will remain a grazer, not a gulper, LOL. He would love to have a playful dog friend in his new home. He is very good at adjusting his play style to the needs of other dogs. Gully does not seem to have much interest in cats, so we are not certain how he would do with them. His foster mom does believe he would chase chickens if given the chance, but respects their boundary when they are in their pen.  Mr. Gully would love to find a loving home that will help him continue to build his confidence and become the best dog he can be.  ##2005207##

Story
Much like Anakin Skywalker, the force is strong with me. For real....I am a beefcake! Don't worry, I have not gone to the dark side, a lot of my beefcakiness is put to use holding my bed down. But anyone who is foolish enough to underestimate my strength and challenge me to a tug game will get a taste of the true chosen one! I am a fun-loving good boy; but it is fair to say there is a bit of puppy escapade inside me at times. Practicing the righteous ways of the Jedi has been an amazing pastime for me to keep me on the light side. I love going for walks through the galaxy (really, it's been the scenic grounds at MAS, but a guy can dream right?). With continued Padawan training from an Obi-Wan Kenobi of my own, we can harness the force to positive outlets for me! Which honestly, I am so treat and reward motivated that with consistency, I am sure I could be a Jedi in no time! I am a fairly sociable guy, I have made some canine friends here at MAS, and when I met a cat I was more interested in playing with my rope toy than befriending it. "The biggest problem in the universe is no one helps each other." - Anakin (Star Wars: The Phantom Menace) If you would like to help Anakin by giving him a forever home, submit your adoption application to the website below! DOB: 3/2/2022 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/
