Story
Available to Adopt - Travis Current location - Cleveland Tall, Dark and Handsome Travis seeks his happily ever after. Travis is a confident boy, but you will need to be more confident as he needs a strong leader. No passive owner for this boy! Travis is very smart, and very treat motivated. In fact, he spent some time at a board and train facility. He knows his commands and mostly listens to them (a typical boxer). He will need someone who will stimulate his mind with toys, games and walks. Travis is a shadow dog and will follow you everywhere. He loves the car, but if you leave him behind, be prepared for a happy greeting when you return. He's good to free roam and hasn't shown any separation anxiety. Travis does seek an adult only home. Kids appear to make him a bit uneasy. Adults and seniors seem to be more his speed. He will be quite happy to lounge on the couch and chill with you – after a good walk or play session, of course. He will make someone a very loyal and loving companion. We do not have any history of Travis with cats. He has lived with another dog in the past, but a meet with any potential housemates would be required as he seems a bit selective. A submissive dog of similar size might be ok. Travis is 7 years old, but don't let that number fool you. He can still be plenty playful, and loves toys and a good game of fetch. He is a typical boxer clown ##729425##

Story
Available to Adopt - Gully Current location - Toledo, OH Meet Gully, the boy with the most adorable underbite ever!  And he also comes armed with a full tail, no nub for this boy!  Gully is a typical high energy boxer, but he also knows when to calm down. Gully has a little "cloudy" of a background and there are some things we will never know for sure. Gully came to us as a stray that was in shelter care. He was very skinny, had some compression sores and a nasty infection. These issues have been dealt with, and he has no known medical issues. As for other unknowns, first is an exact age. He was originally estimated at 5 years at the shelter, but our vets and foster have guessed him to be much younger, possibly as young as 2. Gully does take a little time to feel comfortable with new people. This undoubtedly is due to his previous "life".  Once he knows you, he is very friendly and loving and adapts to new routines quickly. He does get startled with new noises outside the home, and will be vocal about it. His foster is working to help build his confidence with new noises and people, and his adoptive home will need to continue with this.  Gully is a highly trainable boy and learns new commands quickly. He is a very smart boy and very receptive to training. We hope to find him a home committed to further training, as he has the ability to go far and excel at it. He has been crate trained, and does well. He is potty trained, though as usual, will likely need a refresher course in his new home as he learns his new environment.  He tends to be more on the submissive side with other dogs. He is not a food snatcher, and if he has his preference, he will remain a grazer, not a gulper, LOL. He would love to have a playful dog friend in his new home. He is very good at adjusting his play style to the needs of other dogs. Gully does not seem to have much interest in cats, so we are not certain how he would do with them. His foster mom does believe he would chase chickens if given the chance, but respects their boundary when they are in their pen.  Mr. Gully would love to find a loving home that will help him continue to build his confidence and become the best dog he can be.  ##2005207##

Story
Available to adopt – Achilles Current Location – South of Detroit MI (Downriver) ** NOTE-Achilles requires a fence ** Meet handsome boy Achilles. He is a handsome middle aged boy of 6 who wants to be a lap dog and cuddler, once he settles in. Achilles is more of an alpha male and if given the choice, seems to prefer the company of men over women (though he is friendly to all). He loves being the center of attention.  Achilles seems to love attention and pets from humans and does get jealous if not getting all the love. He has all his basic skills down pat, but still needs a little work on not jumping and with leash walking. He is strong, excitable and will pull. He will do best with a strong human leader, and a strong dose of patience as he learns what is expected of him in his new home. For his safety, it is highly recommended that Achilles have a fenced yard. While in our care, he has not shown an interest in jumping the fence, but any potential adopter will need to watch carefully to keep him safe while he adjusts to his new home. Does Achilles sound like a good fit for you? Pre-approved adopters, please reach out. Not pre-approved? Apply here. ##2076936##

Story
Available to Adopt - Samson Current Location - Near Chicago Samson has tried the swinging single/loner game. That didn’t work well as he encountered some pretty scary wildlife out there. He’s also tried the group mingle game with other dogs. Again, didn’t much care for that. Our good boy knows what he wants – just a human family to call his own, forever, and to forget all these silly games he’s tried out in the past. This affectionate, loving middle aged man seeks forever love. He’s ready to settle into a normal life, once and for all.  His likes include going for leisurely walks, lots of toys to carry around, treats and above all, loving companionship. Samson (Sammy) promises to be an easy companion who will accompany you everywhere and be a wonderful housemate in return. Sammy loves when visitors come over. He views them as more humans to play with him. If your visitors will play fetch with him, even better! He is a gracious party host and is an overall good boy.  Sammy prefers having his person/s and his home free of other animals. He is not reactive to other dogs he sees while walking, but in his domain, he wants to be your one and only. This includes cats and other small critters.  Sammy is steadily working on his crate training skills. He canstay in the house by himself as long as he is not trapped in a room and cannot determine how to escape. Have you ever had mild claustrophobia? If yes, you’ll understand. Some calm background music when he's alone to keep him company is always a good idea. He does really hope that his family can be with him often. Occasional alone time is ok, but he craves human companionship as much as possible. ##794406##
