Story
At Christmas time, holiday tinsel is one of the best ways to spruce up your home with some cheer and festivity; but wouldn't it be great to have some of that same tinsel cheer for the whole year? I'm pretty sure that's where I got the name, because that's exactly what I do! I think it's pretty safe to say we all love the gifting aspect of the holiday season, and I am no exception. As you can see from the video, I love toys! Personally, my favorite aspect of every day, is quality time spent together. I am full of that "in front of the fireplace" warmth that is the highlight of the season...or really any season. Snuggling in the laps of all my friends, giving kisses, joy, and laughs every day of the year would be a dream come true! While I can appreciate some kitty-time snuggles, I am much more apt to be in my person's lap cuddling, but I am happy to share a home with a feline friend. I would be happiest in a home with older children that can handle my occasional puppy-like playstyle (that...and I can be a little vocal and pushy about my need for attention sometimes). I would love to have a doggy playmate, but I do need proper introductions with dogs, as I am dog selective. Being dog selective means that I have made several canine friends, but much like humans, I don't care to be friends with every dog I meet. Any potential fur siblings will get the chance to meet me for a play date before I go home, to make sure we get along as well as ribbons and bows! If you would like a little bit of every-day Christmas magic in your home, submit an adoption application to the website below, and I promise to decorate your heart and home with all my love! DOB: 2/6/2020 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
Much like Anakin Skywalker, the force is strong with me. For real....I am a beefcake! Don't worry, I have not gone to the dark side, a lot of my beefcakiness is put to use holding my bed down. But anyone who is foolish enough to underestimate my strength and challenge me to a tug game will get a taste of the true chosen one! I am a fun-loving good boy; but it is fair to say there is a bit of puppy escapade inside me at times. Practicing the righteous ways of the Jedi has been an amazing pastime for me to keep me on the light side. I love going for walks through the galaxy (really, it's been the scenic grounds at MAS, but a guy can dream right?). With continued Padawan training from an Obi-Wan Kenobi of my own, we can harness the force to positive outlets for me! Which honestly, I am so treat and reward motivated that with consistency, I am sure I could be a Jedi in no time! I am a fairly sociable guy, I have made some canine friends here at MAS, and when I met a cat I was more interested in playing with my rope toy than befriending it. Story
Have you ever found yourself saying “Boxers are like potato chips. You can’t have just one.”? Well, here are your chips, and your chance to make a big difference. Merlin and Sugar Pie are bonded. They’ve been together their entire 7 years, and are looking for that special home to stay together in. Their story is not quite our usual one – they have journeyed from Florida all the way to Michigan. Previously, they lived on a farm with many other animals, including 2 smaller dogs. Unfortunately, their owner had to have surgery and did not survive. Family could not take them in, and a boarding kennel kept them for as long as they reasonably could. They were getting close to being turned over to a high kill shelter, when a visiting Good Samaritan learned their plight. She brought them all the way home to Michigan with her. Unfortunately, it has not worked out with her resident dogs and some ongoing health issues. We are seeking to help place these two into a new home together. Merlin and Sugar Pie have solid vet records, from puppies until current day. They are fixed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. They were very well behaved in the car for the long trip north and are fully house trained. Both walk well on a leash. While they do get the occasional zoomies, they are also known to be snugglers and have done well with the children they’ve encountered. In their previous home, they lived with horses, chickens and even tortoises!  What this pair needs now is a safe place to permanently land, and a home that is committed to keeping them together. Can you be that home? Lets talk. LOVE car rides Low maintenance Super people friendly Can be left unattended Merlin is super chill Sweetie needs a human that will continue to provide her guidance VERY well behaved  listen well  Great on leash  ##2661446##

Story
Meet Buckley, our specially abled boy who sees the world with his nose. Buckley had severe visual impairment prior to his owner passing away, and it required surgical removal of both eyes late last year. Since that time, he has learned to lean on his senses of smell and sound to navigate his world. And he’s doing it like a pro! Here are some key items to know about Buckley –   6 years old  House and crate trained  Does well with companion dogs, and would likely learn from them  Does not mind cats  Great appetite  Loves soft toys and blankets  Responds well to verbal commands  No separation anxiety  Affectionate, playful and goofy! Having a blind dog is really not that difficult. They quickly learn their surroundings and how to navigate in a non-seeing world. Buckley has been fostered in a home with another blind dog, and his foster would assist you in setting him up for success.  In Buckley’s forever home, a physical fence would be very helpful for his safety, as would limited stairs (or a way to close them off). He has learned what “up” and “down” mean, butshould be supervised when doing stairs. A safe indoor space to play would be wonderful. He would thrive with a regular schedule, and either a human or dog companion that is consistently around. ##2646096##
