Story
Tyson is a wonderful, 7-year-old Boxer-Pit Mix we welcomed at 9 months, and he has been a wonderful, obedient pet. He is an incredibly affectionate boy whose favorite things are snuggles and being with his people, though he can be overexcited when greeting. He requires little activity, crates very well (often hanging out in his open crate!), and is trustworthy alone in the house. We are rehoming him because new family dynamics, including a grandbaby, means he is receiving less attention and needs a calm environment to truly thrive. We are seeking a quiet, loving family who can provide him with the focus he craves. He is neutered with no medical issues, is good with small dogs, and is comfortable with both unfenced and invisible yards. Please note he is somewhat protective of his home and barks at visitors/cars. We are confident he will be a devoted companion in a peaceful setting. We desire to see Tyson with his new family by mid-December for Christmas 2025 .

Story
At Christmas time, holiday tinsel is one of the best ways to spruce up your home with some cheer and festivity; but wouldn't it be great to have some of that same tinsel cheer for the whole year? I'm pretty sure that's where I got the name, because that's exactly what I do! I think it's pretty safe to say we all love the gifting aspect of the holiday season, and I am no exception. As you can see from the video, I love toys! Personally, my favorite aspect of every day, is quality time spent together. I am full of that "in front of the fireplace" warmth that is the highlight of the season...or really any season. Snuggling in the laps of all my friends, giving kisses, joy, and laughs every day of the year would be a dream come true! While I can appreciate some kitty-time snuggles, I am much more apt to be in my person's lap cuddling, but I am happy to share a home with a feline friend. I would be happiest in a home with older children that can handle my occasional puppy-like playstyle (that...and I can be a little vocal and pushy about my need for attention sometimes). I would love to have a doggy playmate, but I do need proper introductions with dogs, as I am dog selective. Being dog selective means that I have made several canine friends, but much like humans, I don't care to be friends with every dog I meet. Any potential fur siblings will get the chance to meet me for a play date before I go home, to make sure we get along as well as ribbons and bows! If you would like a little bit of every-day Christmas magic in your home, submit an adoption application to the website below, and I promise to decorate your heart and home with all my love! DOB: 2/6/2020 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
Much like Anakin Skywalker, the force is strong with me. For real....I am a beefcake! Don't worry, I have not gone to the dark side, a lot of my beefcakiness is put to use holding my bed down. But anyone who is foolish enough to underestimate my strength and challenge me to a tug game will get a taste of the true chosen one! I am a fun-loving good boy; but it is fair to say there is a bit of puppy escapade inside me at times. Practicing the righteous ways of the Jedi has been an amazing pastime for me to keep me on the light side. I love going for walks through the galaxy (really, it's been the scenic grounds at MAS, but a guy can dream right?). With continued Padawan training from an Obi-Wan Kenobi of my own, we can harness the force to positive outlets for me! Which honestly, I am so treat and reward motivated that with consistency, I am sure I could be a Jedi in no time! I am a fairly sociable guy, I have made some canine friends here at MAS, and when I met a cat I was more interested in playing with my rope toy than befriending it. "The biggest problem in the universe is no one helps each other." - Anakin (Star Wars: The Phantom Menace) If you would like to help Anakin by giving him a forever home, submit your adoption application to the website below! Story
Zeus loves hard! He loves his people, is so much fun, loves to exercise and run around outside. While he was my first baby I have since had twins, and he is not adjusting as well as we would have liked. He would do best in a home with a fenced in backyard with room to run. He gets along with some dogs, but not all. I'm not sure what kind of a life he had before me- but the past five years with him, he's been spoiled and shown so much love and we would love to find him a home where he is the center of attention again!

Story
Meet Goose – Your Loyal Couch Cow Goose is a big-hearted boy with an equally big body—sometimes a little like a bull in a china shop—but don’t be fooled. With regular exercise, this gentle giant settles into a calm, mild-mannered presence at home. He’s fully crate and potty trained, and he already knows several cues including sit, down, and housie. Goose isn’t the kind of dog who craves constant toys or treats. Instead, what makes him shine is the soulful, earnest look in his eyes—one that seems to say he’s just waiting to find his person, the one he can give all his quiet loyalty to. Goose is curious but gentle with feline friends and amicable with canine companions when given proper introductions. He would do best in a home with older kids or teens (16+) who can help maintain his cool-cucumber, chill vibe. Because Goose has some skin sensitivities that flare when he’s stressed, and even engages in a little stress-related skin picking, he will thrive in a low-key, predictable environment where he can truly relax and feel secure. His skin issues have improved significantly in his current foster home, and sweaters for colder months will be warmly appreciated. He’s not a “take everywhere” dog—dog parks, shopping trips, and adventures aren’t really his thing. Goose is happiest as a faithful homebody: a loyal couch cow, a gentle protector (he knows leave it and won’t bark at guests when cued), and a steady friend. Goose comes with a full Embark DNA breed and health profile (available on request). He has moved from shelter to foster to foster to foster for over a year now, and he so deserves to unpack his bags for good and finally know what it feels like to be home. Could your couch and heart be the ones Goose has been patiently waiting for? __________________________________________________________ Goose was on the euthanasia list at Michigan shelter and we were able to pull him after finding a foster at the last minute. This guy is good with everything - dogs, kids, cats (he's afraid of them) and of course humans. He is very high energy and large. His fosters are working with him but he does like to jump up on people so may knock young children down. He will need someone who will be able to exercise him or that has a high energy dog who plays rough like he does. Location: Goose is currently in a foster home. Medical: All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccines (rabies, distemper, Leptospirosis, and Bordetella), microchipped, negative heartworm tested, given flea/tick/heartworm prevention and dewormer, and any other veterinary care that is needed prior to adoption. Fill out an application at www.figandfriendspetrescue.org/adopt if you are interested in adopting him.

Story
Shenanigan has had a rough start to life, but you wouldn't know it when you meet him. He is thriving in foster currently, but still looking for his final forever. He would do best with another dog that wants to play (he would love another pitty type). He likes to snuggle and really lives up to the title of velcro pitty. He has a little separation anxiety but is otherwise a happy boy, crate and potty trained. He is super smart and learning commands well. He's past the "puppy stage" but is young and vibrant and eager to please. There are also cats in his foster home, which sometimes get annoyed at his playful attempts to be buddies, but he thinks they're neat. He might need to be supervised around new cats and dogs for a while while he learns their cues, but he really just likes to have friends. He is up to date on vet care for his age and can now start taking applications for his perfect family. Reach out to learn more and meet this special guy!
