Story
At Christmas time, holiday tinsel is one of the best ways to spruce up your home with some cheer and festivity; but wouldn't it be great to have some of that same tinsel cheer for the whole year? I'm pretty sure that's where I got the name, because that's exactly what I do! I think it's pretty safe to say we all love the gifting aspect of the holiday season, and I am no exception. As you can see from the video, I love toys! Personally, my favorite aspect of every day, is quality time spent together. I am full of that "in front of the fireplace" warmth that is the highlight of the season...or really any season. Snuggling in the laps of all my friends, giving kisses, joy, and laughs every day of the year would be a dream come true! While I can appreciate some kitty-time snuggles, I am much more apt to be in my person's lap cuddling, but I am happy to share a home with a feline friend. I would be happiest in a home with older children that can handle my occasional puppy-like playstyle (that...and I can be a little vocal and pushy about my need for attention sometimes). I would love to have a doggy playmate, but I do need proper introductions with dogs, as I am dog selective. Being dog selective means that I have made several canine friends, but much like humans, I don't care to be friends with every dog I meet. Any potential fur siblings will get the chance to meet me for a play date before I go home, to make sure we get along as well as ribbons and bows! If you would like a little bit of every-day Christmas magic in your home, submit an adoption application to the website below, and I promise to decorate your heart and home with all my love! DOB: 2/6/2020 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
Meet Jesse! Jesse is a happy, affectionate 4-year-old girl whose enthusiasm for life is contagious. Whether she's heading out for a walk, rolling in the grass, or soaking up attention from her favorite people, Jesse is always ready to make the most of her day. She has a goofy, playful side and loves being close to her humans, happily leaning in for pets and enjoying every bit of affection she can get. Jesse is an energetic girl who gets excited when it's time for a walk and can be strong on leash, so she'll do best with someone who can help her continue practicing her leash manners. Once she's had a chance to settle in, she loves relaxing while being brushed, soaking up one-on-one attention, and spending quality time with her favorite people. Volunteers describe her as incredibly sweet, eager for affection, and always ready to say hello. She's even known to sit nicely for treats! Like many enthusiastic dogs, Jesse can get a little bouncy when she's greets people, but her happy personality shines through in every interaction. She'll thrive with a family that can continue helping her practice polite greetings while giving her plenty of love and attention. Jesse is currently heartworm positive, so she'll need a family who can help keep her activity calm while she completes treatment. This means no running, hiking, or rough play for now, but she's more than happy to spend that time soaking up affection and enjoying leisurely walks. Jesse at a Glance Age: 4 years old Favorite Activities: Walks, rolling in the grass, relaxing while being brushed and loved on, spending time with her people, and earning treats. Training: Knows how to sit for treats, is treat-motivated, and would benefit from continued work on loose-leash walking and polite greetings. Personality: Affectionate, energetic, friendly, goofy, attention-loving, and always excited to make new friends. ##2741484##

Story
Meet Junie! Junie is a 3-year-old sweetheart with a playful side and plenty of affection to share. She loves spending time with people and has earned lots of praise for being gentle, friendly, and cuddly. One of the quickest ways to win her over is with some good scratches or a belly rub—she absolutely loves attention! When it’s time to play, Junie is all in. She enjoys chasing toys and balls, playing fetch, splashing around in the pool, and exploring the play yard. She can be vocal when she gets excited during play, especially when she’s having a great time! After she has had her fun, she is happy to soak up some pets and affection. Junie enjoys getting out for walks and exploring. She can sometimes be strong on leash at the beginning of a walk, but tends to settle in and walk more easily as she goes. Whether she’s strolling the trails, rolling in the grass, or hanging out in the gazebo, she seems happiest when she has time to enjoy the outdoors. Junie has a high prey drive and needs a cat-free home. She is looking for a family who will enjoy her fun, affectionate personality and give her plenty of opportunities to play, explore, and soak up all the belly rubs she can get. Junie at a Glance: Age: 3 years old Favorite Activities: Playing fetch, chasing toys and balls, swimming, exploring the play yard, and getting belly rubs Training: Can be strong on leash at first, but tends to settle in and walk more easily as the walk goes on Personality: Sweet, affectionate, playful, gentle, and cuddly See more of Junie's personality, charm, and everyday moments here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZDF9aY__ths ##2764184##

Story
Hi, I'm Fairy, a 1-year-old girl, and I'm ready to find my forever home! I'm spayed, and microchipped, and still getting to know the world around me. I start off very shy and cautious, so I'd do best in a very calm, routine environment where I can build confidence at my own pace. I've warmed up over my few months at the shelter and can be a playful, affectionate girl once I'm comfortable. I also need to go to a home with an established, confident dog who will help me build my confidence. I am super playful with a dog friend - I try to match my friends play style but do best with chase and respectful play where it's good give and take. I also love to take a dip into a kiddie pool! No doubt you will be laughing at my shenanigans as I learn to dog with you. Caution - I am a kissy kissy girl once I like you! If you're patient, understanding and ready to help me blossom, I'd love to meet you. Come visit me at the shelter!

Story
Meet Maizey: A Loyal Dog Looking for Her Forever Co-Pilot! (Female-German Shepard/Pit Mix 2 Years) If you’re looking for a dog who loves "hard," look no further. Maizey is an 18-month-old bundle of pure, unadulterated joy. She doesn’t just like her humans—she adores them. Maizey is a "hugger" in the literal sense; if you’re sitting down, don’t be surprised if she comes right up to lean in and ask for a full-body embrace and a few kisses. Maizey is what we call a "strong lover," which is a polite way of saying she hasn't quite realized how big she’s grown! She’s a goofy, clumsy sweetheart who just wants to be where you are. Whether it’s a quick trip to the gas station or a hike at the park, Maizey is ready to hop in the car and be your dedicated sidekick. Maizey’s Favorites: * Anything Wet or Frozen: Maizey is obsessed with water—if it’s wet or frozen, she’s all in! She loves playing in the hose sprayer, frolicking in the snow, and even enjoys ice cubes as her favorite "low-calorie snack" to keep her occupied. * Playtime & Bonding: She has a lot of "puppy plus" energy and thrives when she’s bonding with her people through play. She can get a little frustrated if that energy isn't released, so she loves a home that makes her part of the action. * Canine Companions: She would thrive best with another dog in the home—ideally one with a similar energy level who can keep up with her love for a good game of tag. The Ideal Home: Maizey would love a fenced-in backyard where she can run to her heart's content. However, a yard is not a requirement as long as you are an active person! If you’re committed to exercising her through long walks, hikes, or other adventures, she will be perfectly happy bonding with you on the move. Because she is a bit of a "bull in a china shop" when she gets excited, she needs a home without small children simply to ensure she doesn’t accidentally knock anyone over during a "zoomie" session. The Bottom Line: Maizey isn't a "background" dog; she wants to be your best friend, your shadow, and your partner in adventure. If you have room in your heart (and on your lap) for a big sweetheart, Maizey is waiting for you! Location: currently in a foster home. Medical: All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccines (rabies, distemper, Leptospirosis, and Bordetella), microchipped, negative heartworm tested, given flea/tick/heartworm prevention and dewormer, and any other veterinary care that is needed prior to adoption. Fill out an application at www.figandfriendspetrescue.org/adopt if you are interested in adopting.
