Story
Mavis is a 3 and a half year old 65 pound mix of snuggles and spunk. She has never met a human she didn't love and does AMAZING with kids. Mavis loves to go for walks, lay in the sun, and keep watch out her window but her FAVORITE thing is snuggling on the couch or in bed with her humans. This little pumpkin is so smart and would thrive as the center of your universe and as the only large dog in the home, she loves her small dog friends. She would prefer a family where someone is home more often than not and would love to take some classes with her forever family too! Mavis is spayed, microchipped, and current on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $250 and you can apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adopt/ ##806015##

Story
Ollie is a 2 yr old snuggle bug. He finds himself looking for a new home as his current dog sibling has decided he doesn't want to share his humans attention. Ollie is just a lover looking for a family who wants to shower him with affection. He would be happy to have all the love to himself but would consider sharing with the right dog or cat sibling. Sharing attention with some kids tho= that would be amazing. As much as Ollie loves to snuggle, he also loves to play and would be over the moon if he found a family who would help him find the perfect play/sleep balance. Please reach out if you are interested in learning more about Ollie!

Story
Meet George Theo Lincoln (he's had many names in his lifetime-we think it makes him sound distinguished ). Sadly, George was returned to us. His family that adopted him a few years ago said that they couldn't take his destructive behavior in the home anymore. They said he struggled with separation anxiety and would be sometimes destructive to furniture in the home, but then he started angry peeing in the home. And heartbreakingly, this is the second time George was returned to us. The first time he was returned because they said he didn't like the farm animals at the first home. George is a happy boy here and loves people and to snuggle. In the past, Kenzie use to take George to her GVSU pre-vet meetings and he LOVED the car travel and visiting with all the students on campus. He ran around the room greeting everyone! His previous owners said they didn't have any issues with him with people or kids. When George was with us, he was very friendly with other dogs. But his previous family said he is not friendly with dogs anymore. We are working on this with him, but at the time, we think he would do best in a home without other pets. A little bit more about George as we know him: He is so kind and sweet, and seems to be great for everyone. We believe he is about 8.5 years old. At his vet check, he was so friendly with Dr. Andrea and was giving kisses and wanted belly rubs! We updated his overdue vaccines and drew some blood to do a senior bloodwork check, which he was a great patient for. His bloodwork was all normal! His previous owners said he has a history of seizures, but only had one in the past year and was not on any medication for seizures. For now, since his bloodwork returned normal, we are going to continue to monitor. But since we've had George, we have not seen any seizures. He does seem to have a sensitive stomach, but we have now found a food he does well on, called Wellness Complete Health Adult Whitefish and Sweet Potato dry dog food . If we find him a foster home, we will continue to provide that specific food for him. We feel for George as he is probably so confused jumping from home to home and we hope we can find him a foster home or a fur-ever home. He's been in a home for so long and would love to get back in one and out of the kennel. If you would be interested in helping George, you can find the foster form and adoption form in the links below. If you cannot help by fostering or adopting, but you still would like to help George, the link to our Chewy list is below. https://www.headinhomerescue.org/adoptionapplication.html https://www.headinhomerescue.org/fosterapplication.html https://www.chewy.com/g/headin-home-pet-rescue_b71197585 An approved adoption application is required. The $200 adoption fee (payable by cash or check only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; fecal testing, and heartworm and tick disease testing. Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Dogs for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Proof of completion of an obedience class is required for all dogs following adoption. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.April 29, 2024, 7:38 pm

HAULT! If you are looking for a hug-a-bull, kiss-a-bull, irrisist-a-bull, and totally adopt-a-bull guy, I am the guy for you! You might be wondering where I get a name such as Clovis (meaning renowned fighter); well when I was found I had some pretty bad injuries and was severely emaciated (for real I was basically a skeleton with skin and fur). Thank goodness MAS was able to take me in and nurse me back to health. It was pretty touch-and-go for a while, and I almost didn't make it...but with the help of MAS, we fought for my life and overcame the odds. Though I am "out of the woods" as they say, some TLC is still needed (and wanted,...I want all your cuddles!). Despite having such a traumatic past, I am such a baby dog. I LOVE people of all ages, I am such a happy boy, which just goes to show how resilient and positive I really am (except with cats...I am positive I am not a fan of those things). I have done well meeting some of the other dogs at MAS as well. I am just so ready to find a place that I am welcomed as part of a family, and feel safe that I will never have to go through anything like my past again. I have all the love in the world to give, if only I am given a chance. If you would like to give Clovis a chance, submit your adoption application to start the process! DOB: 6/13/2018 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
"Already know you that which you need" - Yoda (the wise little green master from Star Wars) The one that you need is definitely me. I am more of a young padawon Yoda, in training to be your best friend! Even though I don’t hear much of anything, love and play are universal languages that we can figure out together! You could say I am a very social guy, I have met some other dogs and cats at MAS and have done awesome. I can get a little rambunctious though, so I would probably be best in a home without kids. Not every dog appreciates my hardcore play style either, but I have made several doggy friends hanging out at MAS. I am ready, willing, and able to use the force to take on adventures and overcome the evils of your stressful day! I can be an absolute goofball when I am outside playing (I love to be outdoors romping around in the yard). But I also love to get attention and curl up afterwards, maybe we can movie marathon with the best movies of all time…you guessed it, Star Wars! If Star Wars isn’t your thing though (we will agree to disagree), I am happy to hang out with you anyways and soak up your affection while you watch whatever else. "No greater gift there is, than a generous heart" - Yoda An adoption application you must fill out today! DOB: 5/1/2021 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Story
Resilient, loyal, and gorgeous - it's triple threat Trinity here! And I am ready to impress you with my heart-of-gold spunk! Let's start with my ideal digs – none of that noisy, rambunctious stuff for me. I'm all about that laid-back adult-only vibe, free from the hustle and bustle. Let's just bask in some peace and tranquility; I relish in some cozy cuddles but feel free to do your own thing. I'm perfectly content entertaining myself with my toys or a quick snooze. When it comes to strangers, I don't exactly roll out the welcome mat. It takes time for me to warm up and trust new friends, but once I do, it's a friendship for life! To join my pack is the real deal. Just know that we will stick together through thick and thin, creating all the best memories and sharing snuggles like there's no tomorrow! As happy as I am to indulge in an afternoon laze, there's nothing quite like getting my heart pumping and feeling the wind in my fur! Ever seen a powerhouse like me tear through a room, giddy with the zoomies? It's a sight to behold, let me tell you! And adventures? Count me in! Whether it's a rugged hike or a road trip for a pup cup, I'm game for it! Wait, did someone say treats? I've got a bit of a weakness when it comes to food. Show me a tasty snack, and I'll show you what a pup with determination and a hunger that just won't quit! And hey, who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? I'm living proof that you can teach this ol' girl a thing or two! Well, what do you say? Ready to join the pack of a tough, yet totally silly, and downright lovable pup like me? Check out the MAS website below to fill out your adoption application and let's get this VIP party started! DOB 2/26/17 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Story
Meet Lincoln Are you looking for a smart, devoted, and active playmate? How about a tall, dark, and handsome companion? Well, that's me to a T! I have the biggest smile and I love to show it off! It is almost as big as the love in my heart. I love to play and run, and I think you would be impressed with how agile and fast I am. I love long walks, preferably on a more remote scenic trail. I would be a top notch hiking buddy! I desire all your cuddles and attention to myself, so I need a home without other dogs or cats. Older kids are better equipped to handle my excitement and zest for life. I have been great with kids, but I don’t want to knock over very small ones by accident. Don’t go thinking that I am all go-go-go though. I like to settle in and hangout with my people too. I am a big time lover, spending quality time with my people is the best part of any day! I’ve gotten quite a few compliments on my good boy behavior from everyone I meet. Like I said before, I am a smart guy, learning new tricks and maybe even doing some work with agility equipment is right up my alley! If I sound like the dog for you, please fill out an application today!
