Story
I was a stray brought in from Laurie.I have completed my training at Jeff City Correctional Center and ready to go! Here are a few things they learned about me. I seem to have some vision problems with my right eye. It comes from my difficult past before I came to the shelter. It is best to feed me treats from the left so I can see you clearly and get the treat and not your fingers. I LOVE a good game of fetch, but hate giving up the ball when I get back. If you show me another ball, though, I will release the first one. I am ok with people and dogs, but need to learn to trust and take some time to warm up to strangers and new dogs. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 56 Age: 5yrs 10mths 3wks

Story
* Reach this dog's foster contact at SaveMeAdoptMe@gmail.com or text / leave a message at 573-512-2102 .*Chico is a boxer & australian shepherd or cattle dog mix, 55 lbs, who loves to be a lap dog, spoken to, played with, and most of all loves playing with other dogs. Don't know about cats. He takes a bit to build trust and has a hard time with inconsistent schedules. He is crate and potty trained and very familiar with commands. Chico is a very smart, loving dog who loves to be loyal to the people he trusts and is looking for an adult-only home. He's good with children that he is familiar with, but now that his kids are growing up and having more friends over, Chico seems to be having a harder time feeling comfortable around the kids' friends. He shows fear of them by his barking, which intimidates people and kids. He went to a trainer for 6 weeks that had helped the family guide him with his sensitivity towards unfamiliar people. He seemed responsive until recently when he snipped at a nephew's ankle when the boy was putting his foot out toward Chico. His family is sick about the thought of giving him up, but they know it is necessary to find a less active, loving home that has at least one other dog as he loves being around dogs.Contact this animals foster home at SaveMeAdoptMe@gmail.com or text or leave a message at 573-512-2102. The adoption donation of $175.00 covers spay / neuter, vaccinations, microchip with lifetime registration, deworming, negative heartworm test, and current monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention. Story
* Contact this dog's foster home at SaveMeAdoptMe@gmail.com or text / leave a message at 573-512-2102 .*Sweet Lucy and her sister were found with serious injuries. Xrays showed both were shot, Lucy through an eye. They were extremely skinny but so excited for attention and grateful for being able sleep inside at night. The vet removed the bullets from both and closed Lucy's eye. She is all healed and ready for love.Wearing a collar was new and she had never walked on a leash. She immediately taught herself to use the doggie door. She is super friendly with everybody, gets along with all dogs, gets excited about the cats and would probably chase if loose. She is ready for a loving, forever home to show her real love and how to be a wonderful member of the family. She was born about July 2022 and is 40-45 lb. Pretty certain there is boxer in their mix, not sure what mixed but seems to have a beagle look about her face. Story
**Special Needs** ~Deaf/Cerebellum lesion~ Miss Rose is quite the looker and very sweet. When we got Rose a year ago, the vet said they thought she had a possible cerebellum (attached to the brain stem) lesion. Due to this Rose has a head tilt and used to be really off balance and circle all the time. In the year that she’s been with us, her balance and circling have greatly improved. She does still bob her head when she walks and at times will spin circles when she gets excited. Rose does great with other dogs, she’s house broke And kennel trained and good with kids. She would do best in a home without cats! This amazing girl would love nothing more then to found a home of her own. Adoption Fee: $150.00
