Story
**Special Needs** ~Deaf/Cerebellum lesion~ Miss Rose is quite the looker and very sweet. When we got Rose a year ago, the vet said they thought she had a possible cerebellum (attached to the brain stem) lesion. Due to this Rose has a head tilt and used to be really off balance and circle all the time. In the year that she’s been with us, her balance and circling have greatly improved. She does still bob her head when she walks and at times will spin circles when she gets excited. Rose does great with other dogs, she’s house broke And kennel trained and good with kids. She would do best in a home without cats! This amazing girl would love nothing more then to found a home of her own. Adoption Fee: $150.00

Story
Veggie Spring Roll is a happy and excited guy! He wants to be involved in everything you do. His favorite things are to play fetch, play fetch and then play fetch. He also likes to give slobbery kisses. He may not always recognize his own size so he may be too much for tiny humans at first. He is very excited to meet new people and thinks everyone new deserves a hug. Once he gets over the initial excitement of meeting a new friend, he calms down. He does great with cats, is house trained, and has done well with dogs most of the time. If a canine friend tells him no, he takes that as a challenge to try even harder to be best friends. He does well being home alone or in the crate. His short term foster says " He's a happy dog with a lot of personality. He loves cuddling and playing. He can be energetic, but also knows when to calm down and just chill. He loves being involved in everything I do. He also definitely loves attention, and he is such a good boy. He loved every person he met and just wanted pets from everyone. He's a very sweet and smart boy who listens pretty well. Oh and also he really believes he's a small lap dog but everyone that met him loved him because he's got such a personality. Volunteers say "Today a guest and I took Veggie for a long drive, first we went to grab a pup cup at the grind then we went to my house. We ran around and played fetch and found out that he's a VERY smart boy who knows how to sit, shake and lie down. He's amazing. After being so good at the house, we had to go to Lizzie and Rocco's for a bacon treat and Veggie made quick besties with the three employees. He was very good on his leash and he was nice and quiet in the car." "Veggie spring roll is a very sweet and happy dog! We went on a walk together and spent some time driving around. He was pretty good on the leash, but he does need a little work with pulling and jumping. I think he'd be a great dog for someone willing to work with him and give him enough exercise every day to get some energy out."

Spike is a happy guy ready to find a great home! His 2 previous owners unfortunately never came for him so he's hoping the 3rd time is the charm when it comes to finding a new family. He likes toys, especially ones he can chew, and has a good amount of playful energy!

Story
King is an active, playful, and intelligent boy! He is the biggest cuddle bug and loves car rides with the window cracked. Tug of war is his game- he will play all day! He has lived with young children in the past and loved playing with them. His previous owner said that he does well with other dogs and cats, but is very playful and and doesn't always realize how big and strong he is! He's also very smart and know how to sit and shake, for a treat of course! Volunteers say "King wanted to play for the entire time. He would have played fetch forever if you let him. He was very much into tug of war as well. He seems like a fast learner. King just needs something to do as an outlet for all that energy." "It was great spending time with him and seeing King's personality. He loves playing tug and showing his energetic side but can also be calm and sweet and just want belly rubs." "King and I took a car ride over to Grindstone Nature Area and went on a hike. On the car ride at first he was very excited and tried to sit up front but after a little driving he laid down in the back and relaxed. He loved going on the walk and is super strong so a very active person would be best for him. He is friendly to everyone and is an excellent hiking partner." "King and I decided to go on a hike at Capen park and relaxed at my apartment the rest of the day where he took a nap. King was very polite, never barked, and was very curious at every person or dog that walked past! He just wanted to sniff them and say hello! He's a very good boy and knows how to sit. And he's so gentle taking treats. King also loves belly scratches! I think he would be perfect with any type of dog owner." "We went to Stephens Lake Park and walked around, then ended our time with a pup cup. King was excited to get in the car, and enjoyed the fresh air on his face as we drove. He was curious in the car but sat well. We went on a fairly long walk around Stephens, and King was overall a good leash walker - he has a lot of energy but the only time he pulled on the leash was when we weren't walking fast enough to get to the next thing to smell. He did not lunge or jump at anything, and never barked. We then stopped for a pup cup on our way back and he seemed to really enjoy the treat. King is so gentle with people, especially for a dog with as much energy as he has." "We went to Stephens Lake Park and walked around, then ended our time with a pup cup. We also went on a walk on the Grindstone trail and went on a long drive together. King is very social with people and is very sweet and loving! He's somewhat energetic and needs to go outside but also loves his relaxation time as well. He can be outgoing for a little bit but after 10 minutes or so he needs to rest. I believe King would do very well with a family that will play with him and give him lots of attention, but also likes to relax and have down time."

If you're looking for a high energy pup, look no further! Janice is ready to run, run, run! She likes toys and treats. She's a friendly gal ready for lots of adventures! Here's what volunteers had to say after spending time with Janice: If you're looking for a dog that will make you laugh, Janice is your gal. Just give her a squeaky toy and let the fun begin. She absolutely loves toys! She's happy to play by herself but is more than willing to include you in the fun. She would love to have a yard where she can play and explore. She also really likes treats, which will make teaching her new tricks much easier.

Story
Evanescence is a happy girl! She has a lot of playful energy and would do well in a home that can match her energy level. She's very loving and oh so pretty! Volunteers say "Evanescence and I got a pup up and the walked the trails at Capen park. She is a very high energy and playful dog but can definitely lay down and relax when it's time. She is very excited to meet new people but once the excitement cools down she is very relaxed and was a good walker!" "When I first picked up Evanescence she was very happy to be getting a day out. She sat great in the car, face and tongue out the window enjoying the fresh air. We first went to enjoy some coffee and a pup cup and she was a big fan. She did great in the drive through and was a big fan of her special treat. We then went for a nice long walk around the lake. She has great leash skills and didn't pull at all. She didn't react to small dogs or kids on the trail and was more interested in just smelling the surroundings. After our walk we went to B and B bagels to enjoy an outdoor lunch. Evanescence got a little jumpy as the food was out so we decided to eat in the car and she sat great in the back. I think the best home for Evanescence could include another well match pet friend along with older kids." "We went to Starbucks and got her a pup cup, which she was very excited about! She was okay in the car - she didn't want to stay in the back seat but I think she was just a little overexcited because on the way back she was perfect! She seemed to have an instinct to chase after squirrels, but was redirectable. She LOVES people and was very happy about every person she saw. When people pet her she would fall right down on her back for belly rubs. She was a perfect walker and was excited by other dogs but again was redirectable." "I took her to Devil's icebox which she thoroughly enjoyed! We walked along many of the paths there and she got very happy anytime we would run into humans. She wanted to say hi to everyone she could but wouldn't pull very hard if I did not let her. She was really good at sitting or laying down during breaks on our walk and loved being pet and getting her belly rubbed. I think she would be perfect with any family!" "We hung out at Stephens Lake Park for most of our time together, and sat outside of Culvers briefly while I got food. I ended up eventually calling her Evie for short and she was just the sweetest girl ever! She was very polite when taking treats from me, very athletic and I could tell she wanted to run, so she would probably do well with an active family. Since she is so gentle, I could see her doing well in a household with kids. She also loves belly rubs and loves to just be snuggled when she's relaxing. She didn't bark a single time but was tugging on her leash from excitement a bit at the beginning, but calmed down. She was just so sweet and I hated having to let her go!" "For our DDO, we went to a bakery downtown called Uprise Bakery and sat outside (don't worry she got a pup cup!). Then we went to MKT trail and walked 3 ish miles. Then we went back to our room and chilled and she played with a stuffed toy. She was super loving and energetic! She loved the hike and being able to sniff around. She was a very good girl and didn't react badly to other dogs."

Story
Roland is a happy guy! He loves to explore his surroundings and keep that nose to the ground. He seems to be more into toys than treats, but the concept of bringing the toy back doesn't always click. He's ready for adventure! Volunteers say "Roland is a fun loving, bold, and cuddly guy. He warmed up immediately and hopped in my car without hesitation. We walked around my block, hung out at home, got a pup cup, and watched my daughter's lacrosse game at Cosmo park together. He really enjoyed playing tug and being a lap dog. He was uninterested in his pup cup but liked dog treats. I could see him being a great companion for any active person who wants a friend. He is an affectionate, silly, and opinionated dog who was a pleasure to be around." "I took Roland to go get a pup cup, he was GREAT in the car, very calm, didn't even want to stick his head out the window. Then we went to the campus of Mizzou and walked around. He was pretty strong on the leash, I would maybe recommend a harness instead of a collar. He was very friendly and wanted to greet everyone on the walk. When he would great people he wanted to jump and lick, very kind but he would get very excited very quickly and would need a few minutes to chill out." "Roland and I went to play fetch and hang out at a park, and then went back to my house to hang out with my roommates and play some more in the yard. Roland was very excited and had a lot of energy, he loved to run around and play fetch, he would definitely be well suited for someone with an active lifestyle and a good size yard. He is also very sweet and loved to be meet new people, so a social person would also be a good fit."
