Story
Mika was surrendered to us when her previous family thought she was pregnant. Mika was severely underweight and had a huge abdomen. On exam, we knew right away something wasn't right. She was taken to the vet for x-rays and it turned out she had a tumor the size of a basketball. She required surgery right away and recovered amazingly. Most recently, another tumor started to grow, and after further testing it ended up being Soft Tissue Sarcoma. The kindest thing would be to not pursue another surgery but to find her a palliative home where she can spend the rest of her days. Mika has always been extremely protective of her people and space. With people she knows, she is the most loving and cuddly girl. She is fiercely loyal. To those she doesn't trust she can be extremely aggressive and bite. Mika is in need of a home that can manage this behavior and limit her interactions with strangers. Mika does well with dogs after a slow introduction and would do well living with another dog. Mika does amazing with cats. Mika will need a home without any visiting kids. Mika loves to play in the yard with her dog friends, cuddle on the couch and lounge around. She has amazing house manners, loves car rides and even knows how to give hugs to her people.

Story
Meet Dagger - Part-Time Comedian, Full-Time Good Boy🐾Say hello to Dagger, a 3-year-old Bulldog mix with a big heart, a bigger personality, and springs for legs. This bright, affectionate goofball lives life in the fast lane and believes every day should start with enthusiastic greetings and end with well-earned belly rubs.Dagger is energetic, playful, and always ready for his next adventure. Beneath all that zoom-worthy enthusiasm is a sweet, loyal pup who truly loves his people and is eager to please. He's currently polishing up his manners-working on loose-leash walking and mastering the art of keeping four paws on the floor (because sometimes excitement gets the best of him).Dagger would do best in a home without feline friends. While he absolutely adores kids, his size and strength mean he's better suited to a home with older children, as little humans can sometimes get unintentionally bowled over by his enthusiasm. If you're looking for a fun-loving, devoted companion who will keep you laughing, moving, and feeling loved every single day, Dagger might just be your perfect match. Bonus points if you enjoy training sessions, active time, and a dog who brings main-character energy wherever he goes.💙If you would like to meet Dagger, he is staying at 91 Patterson Rd in Barrie. Dagger will need multiple meet-and-greets with his new family to find his forever home! Our adoption hours are 11 am - 5 pm, or you can give us a call at (705) 728-7311 ex.6 or email us at barrie@ontariospca.ca for more information!
