Beans is 8 or so years old. She’s a sweet dog who loves attention. I was given her after a friends father passed but she messed up my allergies so much I would rather her go to a home with someone who can play and interact with her as much as she wants. I have a kennel and some toys for her that can go with whoever adopts her.

Hank “Williams” #25121; male; mix breed; estimated age 2 years; approximate weight 55lbs. Hank and several others found themselves on their own when the owners abandoned them without food, water, or shelter. He is currently undergoing slow-kill heartworm treatment. He is neutered and fully vetted. Hank has lots of energy and needs a safe fenced yard where he can run it off! The shelter is a STRESSFUL place and causes a lot of over stimulation in dogs. Hank can be selective with his playmates. Applicants will be required to have a meet and greet with family members and other dogs.

Sam #24205 aka “Smiling Sam” is a male boxer mix that is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs approximately 60 lbs. He is neutered, up-to-date on shots and heartworm negative. This handsome boy has a ‘history’. He took himself to visit the local nursing home in July 2024. Although he meant well and they loved him, he had to vacate the premises. A very very sweet elderly lady that was there volunteering (yes, volunteering) decided to take him home and find his owner or a home. This sweet lady (89 years of age) had no fenced yard and had not had a dog in decades. She took him to the vet and had him neutered, vaccinated, and all the good stuff. She walked this big boy multiple times a day on a leash. He was housebroken and fantastic on a leash when he came in. In an overcrowded shelter we do not have the ability to provide the needed consistency to reinforce these good habits, and he has slipped a little. He is very food motivated and with a little time, I’m sure he will get right back in line. He plays with others but does have an energetic play style. He will be great with proper introductions. We do not have cats in our shelter and can’t advise on his reaction to them.

Mickey #24160; male; mixed breed estimated to be about 3 years old and weighing approximately 50 lbs. Neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, flea/tick, and is on slow-kill for heartworms. This sweet, sweet boy was abandoned by his humans and left to starve. Thankfully a neighbor reported it and we were able to get him into our rescue. Just take a look at that “grin”. It’s not uncommon to find him upside down in his dog bed snoozing away after a good play session. With proper introduction, he should be fine with other dogs. We do not have cats in the shelter and cannot evaluate the dog’s behavior with one.

Nicky is a 6 year old, chow chow/boxer mix who is energetic, playful, and silly. Although reactive and anxious at times, she is a very loyal dog. She is a fast runner who enjoys to play fetch and play tug of war. She is 1 of 2 surviving dogs from her litter and as a puppy she had a small tumor that left her a unique scar above her left eye. Nicky is great with kids and other dogs and very protective over them. She is a very loving dog and I want to give her a new home where she can receive that same love and more.

Hi! My name is Gruber, but everyone calls me Griffin (Or Griff or Big G!). I heard that I am the 2nd longest dog in the MAS system, but I don't know why because I'm told I am incredibly handsome! You should know that I am not a big fan of other dogs. They make me anxious, so as you can imagine, being at the shelter was very stressful. Luckily, my now foster mom played with me in the yard and decided to bring me home with her, and that has been great. When I first went to my foster home, they always tried to pet me and love on me, and I didn't understand this "cuddling" when we could be playing instead. Then I figured out how incredible belly rubs are, and now I like to get those all the time! I try to crawl into foster mom's lap, but it's a hard fit but worth the effort. I learned really quickly that I potty outside, and proud to say I never have accidents! I am a homebody. I am happiest in the comfort of my own space. I love having a backyard where I can play, run, and feel safe. I would enjoy a home where I can watch sports and movies with you or watch you play video games. I am also good at entertaining myself with a Benabone or staring at shadows on the wall while my foster mom works on the computer. Some of my likes are belly rubs, peanut butter-filled Kongs, and playing keep away! Im the champ at keep away. As soon as foster dad gets home, I look for the closest toy I can find so we can play, and I always win! You see, I am a VERY happy boy. I prefer to be the only pet in my home since other dogs make me anxious. If you think you would be the home I've been waiting for, just let my foster mom know!" Medium energy level outside, settles down quickly inside, quiet and well-mannered, low maintenance. Affectionate with her people and loves to cuddle. Crate trained and housebroken. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. When she first came to us, Lola had heartworms but she was treated and cured and is now ready for adoption. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots. Weighs about 55 pounds.
