Story
Hi! My name is Gruber, but everyone calls me Griffin (Or Griff or Big G!). I heard that I am the 2nd longest dog in the MAS system, but I don't know why because I'm told I am incredibly handsome! You should know that I am not a big fan of other dogs. They make me anxious, so as you can imagine, being at the shelter was very stressful. Luckily, my now foster mom played with me in the yard and decided to bring me home with her, and that has been great. When I first went to my foster home, they always tried to pet me and love on me, and I didn't understand this "cuddling" when we could be playing instead. Then I figured out how incredible belly rubs are, and now I like to get those all the time! I try to crawl into foster mom's lap, but it's a hard fit but worth the effort. I learned really quickly that I potty outside, and proud to say I never have accidents! I am a homebody. I am happiest in the comfort of my own space. I love having a backyard where I can play, run, and feel safe. I would enjoy a home where I can watch sports and movies with you or watch you play video games. I am also good at entertaining myself with a Benabone or staring at shadows on the wall while my foster mom works on the computer. Some of my likes are belly rubs, peanut butter-filled Kongs, and playing keep away! Im the champ at keep away. As soon as foster dad gets home, I look for the closest toy I can find so we can play, and I always win! You see, I am a VERY happy boy. I prefer to be the only pet in my home since other dogs make me anxious. If you think you would be the home I've been waiting for, just let my foster mom know!" Story
River is a mixed breed dog that has favorable markings and body style of the Dane and Boxer however is small for those breeds. River weighs around 40 pounds however is under weight and should be around 55-60. She was found as a stray and taken to a vet for a brief evaluation and to check for a chip. She was found to be very under weight and not chipped. River is a courtesy listing and what follows is the information from the person who has her. River is soooo sweet, I never hear her bark. She hasn't jumped up on me. When in the car she sits down and stays there til it's time to get out. In the house hasn't tore up anything and could care less  it's a house full of cats Just walks right pass the cats.. Stopped to eat the cats food. I said no. And she instantly stopped. Very good dog. Not an old dog. But not a puppy. Major tail wagger.. Likes being inside the house. But is staying outside here. If you think you could love River and  provide and a great home for her please call. 901.461.7397July 12, 2026, 9:29 am

Story
Rocky is a sweet, lovable goofball. He is 18 months old and has a little boy's exuberant heart. He loves snuggles, but will stay off the furniture if you don't want a lap dog. He loves animals of all sizes and gets excited to meet new friends, but is easily controlled by voice. The baby learns fast! He knows basic commands and is learning to walk on a lease but isn't reactive. He is curious about feline friends but is very submissive. Rocky is house broken and kennel trained, but loves being outside with family. He loves car rides, water, playing ball, snuggling, and chewing appropriately now. He enjoys bullies and bones. He is food motivated but is not aggressive or protective. Rocky enjoys a good spa day with a bath or shower, nail trim, and polishing those pearly whites. Rocky needs an active family to adore that will love him forever. Story
Meet Clark, a 3-1/2-year-old, 65-pound Red Nose, Brindle Pit Bull mix. Clark becomes stressed when crated, causing him to bark excessively. Despite this, he is dog-friendly and enjoys playing with toys. Clark is house trained and crate trained, keeping his crate clean. His foster mom is employing treat-based training to teach him basic commands. He has learned to “sit,” kennel up” and “come.” The command to tell a dog to come towards you during dog training is simply "come"; it's considered one of the most important basic commands for a dog's safety, as it allows you to recall them if they get loose or into a dangerous situation. Clark is a very friendly dog. He never meets a stranger. And he is making great progress in his "how to be a house dog" training. If you would like to be considered for adoption, please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website www.heartsofgoldpitrescue.com.
