Beans is 8 or so years old. She’s a sweet dog who loves attention. I was given her after a friends father passed but she messed up my allergies so much I would rather her go to a home with someone who can play and interact with her as much as she wants. I have a kennel and some toys for her that can go with whoever adopts her.

Hank “Williams” #25121; male; mix breed; estimated age 2 years; approximate weight 55lbs. Hank and several others found themselves on their own when the owners abandoned them without food, water, or shelter. He is currently undergoing slow-kill heartworm treatment. He is neutered and fully vetted. Hank has lots of energy and needs a safe fenced yard where he can run it off! The shelter is a STRESSFUL place and causes a lot of over stimulation in dogs. Hank can be selective with his playmates. Applicants will be required to have a meet and greet with family members and other dogs.

Sam #24205 aka “Smiling Sam” is a male boxer mix that is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs approximately 60 lbs. He is neutered, up-to-date on shots and heartworm negative. This handsome boy has a ‘history’. He took himself to visit the local nursing home in July 2024. Although he meant well and they loved him, he had to vacate the premises. A very very sweet elderly lady that was there volunteering (yes, volunteering) decided to take him home and find his owner or a home. This sweet lady (89 years of age) had no fenced yard and had not had a dog in decades. She took him to the vet and had him neutered, vaccinated, and all the good stuff. She walked this big boy multiple times a day on a leash. He was housebroken and fantastic on a leash when he came in. In an overcrowded shelter we do not have the ability to provide the needed consistency to reinforce these good habits, and he has slipped a little. He is very food motivated and with a little time, I’m sure he will get right back in line. He plays with others but does have an energetic play style. He will be great with proper introductions. We do not have cats in our shelter and can’t advise on his reaction to them.

Mickey #24160; male; mixed breed estimated to be about 3 years old and weighing approximately 50 lbs. Neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, flea/tick, and is on slow-kill for heartworms. This sweet, sweet boy was abandoned by his humans and left to starve. Thankfully a neighbor reported it and we were able to get him into our rescue. Just take a look at that “grin”. It’s not uncommon to find him upside down in his dog bed snoozing away after a good play session. With proper introduction, he should be fine with other dogs. We do not have cats in the shelter and cannot evaluate the dog’s behavior with one.

Nicky is a 6 year old, chow chow/boxer mix who is energetic, playful, and silly. She is a reactive and anxious dog, and takes her time warming up to people, but she is a very loyal dog. She is a fast runner who enjoys to play fetch and play tug of war. She is 1 of 2 surviving dogs from her litter and as a puppy she had a small tumor that left her a unique scar above her left eye (no lingering health concerns). After she gets comfortable, Nicky is great with kids and other dogs and very protective over them. She is a very loving dog and I want to give her a new home where she can receive that same love and more.

River is a mixed breed dog that has favorable markings and body style of the Dane and Boxer however is small for those breeds. River weighs around 40 pounds however is under weight and should be around 55-60. She was found as a stray and taken to a vet for a brief evaluation and to check for a chip. She was found to be very under weight and not chipped. River is a courtesy listing and what follows is the information from the person who has her. River is soooo sweet, I never hear her bark. She hasn't jumped up on me. When in the car she sits down and stays there til it's time to get out. In the house hasn't tore up anything and could care less it's a house full of cats Just walks right pass the cats.. Stopped to eat the cats food. I said no. And she instantly stopped. Very good dog. Not an old dog. But not a puppy. Major tail wagger.. Likes being inside the house. But is staying outside here.
