Story
Meet Justin, a handsome short-coat Chihuahua mix with a warm brown coat, soulful eyes, and the kind of face that always looks like he’s listening closely to you. At 17 pounds and about 6 years old, Justin is the perfect “small-but-sturdy” sidekick—made for couch snuggles, movie nights, and being your constant little shadow. Justin came from a heartbreaking situation, He was left behind in an apartment with a bunch of other dogs in a hoarding environment, and he’s been starved for attention ever since. In the best way possible, Justin simply cannot get close enough to his person and wants to be right next to you. He’ll let you know how much he needs that connection. He’s affectionate, sweet, and genuinely happiest when he’s included in whatever you’re doing and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. Because of what he’s been through, Justin will not do well in a home where people are gone all the time. He’s looking for someone with a lifestyle that allows for steady companionship, the kind of home where he can follow you around, curl up beside you, and finally feel like he belongs. If you’ve been wanting a best buddy who’s always happy to see you and eager to share your everyday life, Justin is your man. Justin is heart worm negative and Chagas negative. Story
Izzie is a 6 year-old, 50-pound boxer mix with a remarkable story of love and resilience. Found under a porch with her puppies, she was rescued by children who crawled under the house to bring her and her little ones to safety. Since then, Izzie has been the mama to many dogs here, offering her nurturing spirit and playful energy—but now it’s her turn to be cherished. Healthy and amazing (she’s cured of Chagas!), Izzie is playful, affectionate, and loves people. She would happily leap into your arms for cuddles and attention. A puppy training class would help her polish her basic commands, but her eagerness to please makes her a quick learner. Izzie longs for her own forever family—one that will let her cuddle in the cool AC, run and play outdoors, and finally enjoy the love she’s given to so many others. She’s ready to leave her past behind and start her new life as the beloved companion she was always meant to be. Izzie is located at our shelter near San Antonio, TX and is available for transport to Chelsea, MI on June 20th with approved application and confirmed adoption. Her adoption fee is $450. Story
Jill’s story started in a ditch alongside her brother when she was just a tiny puppy. Despite such a rough beginning, this sweet girl has held onto her gentle heart. Jill is shy and a little nervous when meeting new people. At adoption events, when things feel overwhelming, she’ll simply curl up and go to sleep — her quiet way of coping with the big world around her. Because of this tender, cautious nature, she’s now over a year old and still waiting for someone to see the beautiful soul she truly is. But give Jill just a little time, patience, and kindness, and you’ll discover her real personality. 🌟 She blossoms into a happy, playful girl who loves zoomies in the yard, a good game of fetch, and romping around with other dogs. Once she feels safe, her nubby wags freely and her playful spirit shines. Jill doesn’t need much — just a calm, loving home willing to let her warm up at her own pace. In return, you’ll get the sweetest, most loyal companion who will quietly choose you as her person. Could you be the one to give Jill the safe forever she’s been waiting for? Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Hi, I’m Mr. Lavender.🪻 Yes, like the flower. Soft, gentle, and emotionally complex. I’m what you’d call a very sensitive soul. I feel things deeply. For example, if I ever get scolded—even just a tiny “no, Lavender”—I will slowly and quietly walk to my crate to process the heartbreak. I’ll curl up, sigh dramatically, and reflect on how I have disappointed everyone I love. It’s a whole moment. But the good news is, I’m very forgiving. All it takes is a soft voice and gentle pets, and suddenly I remember that life is beautiful again. And speaking of pets… once you start petting me, you cannot stop. I will gently place myself closer. And closer. And closer. If you stop, I will politely remind you with my eyes. If that doesn’t work, I will lean my entire body into you like a weighted blanket with feelings. Physical affection is my love language, my hobby, my life. Cuddling is one of my greatest talents. I don’t just cuddle—I commit to cuddling. I will curl into you, rest my head on you, and stay there like it’s my full-time job. Personal space? Never heard of it. If you move, I move. If you sit, I sit. If you exist, I’m next to you. I also love people-watching. Give me a window, and I will sit there peacefully, observing the neighborhood like a quiet little philosopher. I don’t bark or judge—I just observe and think my gentle thoughts. Loud noises, however, are not my favorite. I prefer calm homes, soft voices, and peaceful environments where I can relax and feel safe. I’m not into chaos. I’m into comfort, love, and cozy vibes. I’m wonderful with kids and other dogs. I’m gentle, patient, and kind. I don’t want any trouble—I just want friends and a place where I belong. I have a very sweet heart, and once I trust you, I will love you with everything I have. I’m not the loudest or boldest dog. I’m the soft one. The gentle one. The one who will quietly sit beside you and make everything feel calm and warm. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend, a professional cuddler, and a sweet soul who just wants to love and be loved… I’m the one.
