*Meet Soto – A Resilient Soul Ready for His Second Chance! Soto is a Pit Boxer mix with a big heart and a brave spirit. He came to us under tough circumstances—tied up at our front gate after his previous family could no longer care for him. Despite everything, Soto is holding onto hope for a new beginning with someone who will give him the love and patience he deserves. Soto can be wary of new people at first, but once he learns to trust you, his playful and affectionate side shines. He’s a total goofball when it comes to water, toys, and treats—those are definitely the way to his heart! Because of his cautious nature, Soto would do best in a calm, adult-only home (no kids under 16) and as the only pet. He thrives with structure, gentle guidance, and people who understand that good things take time. Soto is ready for someone who sees him not for his past, but for the amazing companion he can become. If you`re looking for a loyal friend to grow with, Soto is waiting to meet you.*To make an appointment to meet Soto, please complete your application at this link: https://PetsFurPeople.org/pre-application/ Follow it up with a phone call. Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted on 10/13/23, and the pictures were taken on 10/6/23.  Adilynn was at the Smith County, TX Animal Shelter almost 30 days, so we tagged her, and picked her up on 9/28/23.  She has an underbite, is a sweet young dog that is gentle, but playful.  We don't know if she is house or crate trained, she does well on a leash, and is good with other dogs.  We have not seen any signs of her trying to dig or climb over the fencing.  We don't know how she is with cats.  She was estimated to be 1 year 6 months old on 8/30/23.  She was spayed on 10/18/23, and his heartworm negative.  She was 48 pounds on 9/28/23, and on 7/5/25 she weighed a chunky 73 pounds since she was spayed.  She could lose some weight in a home of her own that can control what she eats. $25 adoption fee, since donations were made for her vet care.July 7, 2025, 8:35 pm

Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted on 4/7/23, and the pictures were taken on 4/1/23.  Jacoby was picked up by the Smith County, TX Animal Shelter on 8/15/22.  We picked him up on 12/2/22, he was already neutered, estimated to have been born in 2013, and weighed 68 pounds on 4/1/23. Jacoby is a guard dog.  He would be perfect for a single person that he can protect and give lots of love to.  He does not like my husband or teenage son when they try to come to the fenced area that he is in, but if I bring him out of the fenced area on a leash, he will let my husband hold his leash with no problem.  He is great with the other dogs (both genders), good on a leash, loves to be pet, crate trained, and does not dig under or climb fencing.  We don't know if he is house trained. $25 adoption fee, since donations were made for his vet care, and he was already neutered.November 6, 2024, 12:13 am

Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted on 10/13/23, and the pictures were taken on 10/13/23.  Rory and his family of 3 other dogs were first spotted on our trail camera in June 2023 starving and looking for food.  Rory was the first to get trapped in our live trap.  He is a gentle giant that likes to give bear hugs over my arms when he feels a little frisky, and I have his huge sweet face in my hands praising him.  He is extremely sweet and very sensitive to any hand movement, and lowers his head as if he thinks I'm going to hit him.  He lowers his head a lot, and I've been working on getting him to keep his head up.  He did dig under our fence twice at night until we laid hog panel on the ground, and then he climbed over our 4 foot fence to get to one of the females he was found with while she was in heat after we separated her until she was spayed, but he has stayed inside the fence since his neuter.  He does have a hunting instinct to go after night time wildlife, and has wanted to go after a feral cat we have.  He's not very active, and lays around a lot.  He is good on a leash, and sometimes growls at the other male dogs he is with, but he is good with them.  He should not be with other dominant male dogs though.  We don't know if he is house trained, but he is crate trained.  He does not have a micro-chip, and no owner was found.  He was heartworm positive, is on prevention, and received heartworm treatment on 10/26/23 and 10/27/23.  He was estimated to be 4 years old on 8/8/23 weighing 72 pounds, and he was neutered on 9/22/23 weighing 77 pounds. $70 adoption fee.November 6, 2024, 12:13 am

Story
Athena is a very lovable dog, who absolutely loves pets from everyone she encounters. She plays fetch but her favorite game is playing tug. She's all about tugging toys with her owner. She's a confident dog who loves out door adventures. Shes a well tempered dog all around, has never bitten another dog or human and is not territorial. Shes been raised along side her brother who's shares the same training, while they are littermates they both have been trained separately to ease or remove any separation anxiety issues. Athena has been properly trained to walk in heel, she understands both Spanish and English commands. She's highly food motivated for easier additional training. Athena is also trained to potty on command as well as feeding on command. If kept up, she also knows to sit at the door and wait for the "okay" command before stepping out of the door. We've trained her to not jump on people for safety reasons. She's also trained to stay off of furniture. Athena is 1 year and 6 mo

Story
Meet Lovable Loo! 💕 Loo’s story began at Love’s Lookout near Jacksonville, where he was found all alone as a young pup. Despite his rough start, this resilient boy has grown into a big, goofy bundle of joy who’s ready to find a forever family to call his own. Loo had an adopter lined up, but that plan fell through — so he’s still waiting patiently for someone special to see just how amazing he is. With his striking dark chocolate brown coat and soulful eyes, he’s as handsome as he is sweet. At about five months old and 45 pounds, Loo is right in that fun, slightly clumsy “teenage” stage. He’s playful, loves attention, and will happily soak up all the affection you can give. He enjoys playing with toys, romping around in the yard, and snuggling up when the day is done. Loo is crate trained, house trained, and almost fully leash trained, showing what a smart and eager learner he is. He’s fully vetted and ready to step into his new life with confidence and love. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will grow up right alongside you — full of heart, energy, and endless affection — Loo might just be your perfect match. 💖

Story
Meet Chong – A Loyal Boy with a Big Heart! Chong is a terrier mix and the devoted brother of Shadow. Like his sister, he’s come through some tough times—but his resilient spirit and loving nature have never faded. Chong is calm, sweet-natured, and a little more confident than his sister, often taking the lead when exploring new places. He loves going for walks, lounging in the sun, and getting gentle scratches behind the ears. He bonds deeply with his people and thrives in a home where he can feel safe, appreciated, and included. Chong is dog-friendly and would do well either on his own or alongside another easygoing pup—especially if it’s his sister, Shadow. He’s looking for someone who understands that the best things in life sometimes take a little time and patience. With his warm eyes and steady heart, Chong is more than ready to be someone’s best friend.*To make an appointment to meet Chong, please complete your application at this link: https://PetsFurPeople.org/pre-application/ Follow it up with a phone call.
