Story
Callie was pulled from an East Texas shelter the day she was to be euthanized. Ater two minutes in her new foster home, it seems like she has always been there....she fit right in, a total team player, easy going, calm, patient. She demonstrates no annoying puppy behaviors, she is so grounded and just so happy that she is loved. She does not jump up on people so sh's a great candidate for families with younger children. She will play bark when romping around with her dog friends but everyone should be entitled to cut loose of energy, and all dogs usually have the same behavior. We are working on leash training, she does well in a harness, no collar, she doesn't pull but will stop walking when she's done. She is totally house broken and NEVER has destroyed or chewed up anything in the house. She is a true joy! and a perfect candidate for a first time dog owner!

Meet Soto!A Resilient Soul Ready for His Second Chance! Soto is a Pit Boxer mix with a big heart and a brave spirit. He came to us under tough circumstances—tied up at our front gate after his previous family could no longer care for him. Despite everything, Soto is holding onto hope for a new beginning with someone who will give him the love and patience he deserves. Soto can be wary of new people at first, but once he learns to trust you, his playful and affectionate side shines. He’s a total goofball when it comes to water, toys, and treats—those are definitely the way to his heart! Because of his cautious nature, Soto would do best in a calm, adult-only home (no kids under 16) and as the only pet. He thrives with structure, gentle guidance, and people who understand that good things take time. Soto is ready for someone who sees him not for his past, but for the amazing companion he can become. If you`re looking for a loyal friend to grow with, Soto is waiting to meet you.To make an appointment to meet Soto, please complete your application at this link: https://PetsFurPeople.org/pre-application/ Follow it up with a phone call. Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted on 10/13/23, and the pictures were taken on 10/6/23.  Adilynn was at the Smith County, TX Animal Shelter almost 30 days, so we tagged her, and picked her up on 9/28/23.  She has an underbite, is a sweet young dog that is gentle, but playful.  We don't know if she is house or crate trained, she does well on a leash, and is good with other dogs.  We have not seen any signs of her trying to dig or climb over the fencing.  We don't know how she is with cats.  She was estimated to be 1 year 6 months old on 8/30/23.  She was spayed on 10/18/23, and his heartworm negative.  She was 48 pounds on 9/28/23, and on 7/5/25 she weighed a chunky 73 pounds since she was spayed.  She could lose some weight in a home of her own that can control what she eats. $25 adoption fee, since donations were made for her vet care.July 7, 2025, 8:35 pm

Jacoby is a guard dog.  He would be perfect for a single person that he can protect and give lots of love to.  He does not like my husband or teenage son when they try to come to the fenced area that he is in, but if I bring him out of the fenced area on a leash, he will let my husband hold his leash with no problem.  He is great with the other dogs (both genders), good on a leash, loves to be pet, crate trained, and does not dig under or climb fencing.  We don't know if he is house trained. $25 adoption fee, since donations were made for his vet care, and he was already neutered.November 6, 2024, 12:13 am

Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted on 10/13/23, and the pictures were taken on 10/13/23.  Rory and his family of 3 other dogs were first spotted on our trail camera in June 2023 starving and looking for food.  Rory was the first to get trapped in our live trap.  He is a gentle giant that likes to give bear hugs over my arms when he feels a little frisky, and I have his huge sweet face in my hands praising him.  He is extremely sweet and very sensitive to any hand movement, and lowers his head as if he thinks I'm going to hit him.  He lowers his head a lot, and I've been working on getting him to keep his head up.  He did dig under our fence twice at night until we laid hog panel on the ground, and then he climbed over our 4 foot fence to get to one of the females he was found with while she was in heat after we separated her until she was spayed, but he has stayed inside the fence since his neuter.  He does have a hunting instinct to go after night time wildlife, and has wanted to go after a feral cat we have.  He's not very active, and lays around a lot.  He is good on a leash, and sometimes growls at the other male dogs he is with, but he is good with them.  He should not be with other dominant male dogs though.  We don't know if he is house trained, but he is crate trained.  He does not have a micro-chip, and no owner was found.  He was heartworm positive, is on prevention, and received heartworm treatment on 10/26/23 and 10/27/23.  He was estimated to be 4 years old on 8/8/23 weighing 72 pounds, and he was neutered on 9/22/23 weighing 77 pounds. $70 adoption fee.November 6, 2024, 12:13 am

Story
Oliver found his way into my backyard a little over a year ago during the winter. He was very skinny and scared. I am not sure if he was abused, but it took him about a month before he was brave enough to come up to the patio while we were outside. He got along with my dogs right away. I took him to get checked out and get his shots, the vet said he was about 15 months at the time. He is great with kids, not a fan of our cat, and is kennel trained. He has only had a couple of accidents in the kennel, mostly when he doesnt want to go out because of storms. I have tried putting a leash on him and he does not like it at all, so I havent pushed it. It has taken him a long time to gain our trust. He will come up to us but I can only pet him for a couple of seconds before he start running around again. When he is inside, he is very calm. He needs a home that can show him lots of attention. Neutered about 6 months ago. He needs a home where he can have lots of attention.

🎄❄️ Christmas Adoption Bio – Meet Ice 🧊 ❄️🎄 All Ice wants for Christmas is you. 💙 Ice is an approximately 12-week-old sweetheart with the gentlest, most loving soul. She’s the kind of puppy who believes cuddles are a full-time job and will happily curl up right beside you for all the snuggles she can get. Calm, affectionate, and people-oriented, Ice loves being close to her humans and soaking up every bit of love offered. She’s already crate trained and doing wonderfully with potty training, making her an easy and joyful addition to any home. In the little over a week she’s been with us, Ice has proven herself to be one of those rare “old soul” puppies — playful when it’s time to play, and perfectly content to settle in for cozy moments. Her personality is pure Christmas magic: happy, loving, gentle, and eager to be someone’s forever companion. Ice is the kind of pup who won’t just grow up in your home — she’ll grow into your heart. 🎁 Ice’s Christmas wish: a forever family to cuddle with, love endlessly, and call her own. Could that be you? Adoption fee covers all vaccines and neuter at 6 months.

Story
Cash’s story hasn’t been an easy one. After his original owner passed away, Cash spent far too much time confined to a crate that was too small for him, with very little time outside. The other dogs in the home were semi-aggressive toward him, leaving Cash overwhelmed, stressed, and misunderstood. He was labeled “aggressive,” but the truth was much simpler: he just needed space, kindness, and time to decompress. And once he finally got that… everything changed. At the boarding facility, Cash slowly relaxed and revealed who he truly is — a playful, goofy, incredibly gentle big boy with a heart as soft as his back-scratch-loving soul. He’s strong, yes, but so good with people. He takes treats from a 3-year-old with the softest little nibble, melts under affectionate hands, and loves forming bonds at his own pace. Cash does best with slow introductions and thrives with female dogs or calm canine companions. He’s not a fan of intact males and can become overstimulated around them, but with the right match, he’s a wonderful playmate. Most of all, he’s deeply food motivated, loves to learn, and adores being included. Cash is waiting for someone who sees the beauty in giving a dog a second chance — someone who understands that love, routine, and time will bring out his very best.
