Story
~DOB: 5/1/2021 Weight: 55 pounds Energy level: moderate Overall drive: low Location: Santa Clarita, California Meet Louie, happy boy with the perfect balance of silly charm and easygoing companionship. Louie has all the lovable Boxer personality you’d expect: goofy, affectionate, and full of heart; without the over-the-top energy. He’s playful and fun, but overall a pretty calm, chill guy who simply enjoys being around his people.   If Louie were human, he’d absolutely be the class clown - the one making everyone laugh while still being the friend you can count on. He’s a happy dog who loves attention, leans in for affection, and is known to give the sweetest hugs (especially to his foster dad, who he absolutely adores). Butt scratches are also very high on his list of favorite things. Louie is social and enjoys meeting people. He’s well-mannered in public, does great on walks, and has even impressed everyone during trips to the pet store where he happily sniffs all the toys. He knows commands like sit and leave it, rides well in the car once he settles in, and was a total gentleman at the vets’ office where the staff loved him. But the best part of Louie’s story might be his special friendships he forms with other dogs that come through his foster home. He seems to take comfort and give comfort in their presence and would absolutely love to have some canine friends in his new life. Louie may do best in a home without small animals or with someone able to manage, correct, and redirect some hard focus behaviors. He'd mostly love a family that appreciates a loyal, affectionate dog with a playful streak. He’s crate trained, not destructive, and thrives on love, praise, and a good meal. Louie is truly an outstanding dog who deserves a home of his own, and if that home could include a dog friend or even some dogs that he can have playdates, he'd be the happiest pup in the world!

Story
Blaze is a sweet senior boy with a gentle heart and an easygoing personality. From the moment he arrived, he has been friendly with everyone he meets, winning people over with his affectionate nature and loving spirit.Blaze recently had a medical evaluation after we noticed some stiffness and limping in his back end. Our veterinarian found significant arthritis in his hips along with old injuries to both of his cruciate (knee) ligaments. He is starting pain management, which he will likely need long-term, and his future family will need to help him maintain a quieter lifestyle to protect his joints. This means no rough play, wrestling, excessive running, or high-impact activities — Blaze is looking for a home where he can enjoy gentle walks, cozy naps, and plenty of love.Despite everything his body has been through, Blaze continues to be the happy, loving dog everyone adores. He enjoys being around his people, soaking up attention, and simply being part of a family. His days of wild adventures may be behind him, but his heart is still full of love to give.Blaze is searching for a forever home that will see the wonderful dog he is and give him the comfort, patience, and care he deserves. In return, he promises to be the loyal, sweet companion who is happiest just being by your side. Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org

Story
Meet Raymond — Still the King of Chill 👑☀️Raymond is an almost 11-year-old gentleman who was found as a stray, leaving his past a bit of a mystery. What we do know is this: Raymond has fully embraced the art of taking life slow and savoring the simple joys—preferably from a warm, sunny spot.A true senior soul, Raymond appreciates the little things: a cozy place to lounge, leisurely strolls, and a good scratch behind the ears. Rainy days aren’t his favorite (they interfere with his sunbathing schedule), and he prefers to be the only animal in his kingdom. While he’s not much for cuddling, he truly enjoys being petted and treated with the respect a king deserves.Raymond has been in our care for 394 days and counting, patiently waiting for his forever home. Despite the time that’s passed, he remains sweet, mellow, and quietly hopeful that someone will see him for the gentle companion he is.Please note: Raymond does have daily medications that will need to be continued—but he takes them like a champ. If your perfect day includes soaking up the sunshine with a calm, loyal companion by your side, Raymond is ready to rule your heart—one sunbeam at a time. Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org

Story
Bug’s story began a few years ago when he was abandoned at our facility in the middle of the night alongside his mom, Ruby. Unsure of the world and lacking early stability, Bug grew up learning to navigate life at his own pace. In time, he and Ruby were adopted together, and we were hopeful they had found their forever home.Due to unfortunate and uncontrollable circumstances, Bug has now returned to us and is once again looking for a patient and understanding home.Bug is a gentle, sensitive boy who is still learning to feel confident in new situations. While he may be unsure at first, he has made incredible progress and continues to grow braver every day. He no longer shuts down the way he once did—instead, he approaches new people with curiosity, slowly working up the courage to come over and offer a few cautious sniffs. He does best when he’s allowed to move at his own pace and thrives in calm, low-pressure environments. Bug has formed bonds with staff and volunteers over time and, once he feels safe, shows his incredibly sweet and soft personality. Treats are one of the best ways to earn his trust and help him open up.Bug is still very early in his confidence-building journey and is not yet ready for busy outings or fast-paced experiences. He continues to take things one step at a time, learning that the world can be safe and predictable when approached gently.Bug shares a very special bond with Ruby, and we would love for them to find a home together again. She brings him comfort and helps him feel more secure as he continues to grow.Bug is a tender, soulful boy who just needs time, patience, and understanding. For the right person, watching him learn to trust will be an incredibly meaningful experience. Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org
