Story
Max is a lovable energetic goofball. He is four years old and is house broken, knows commands sit, stay, lay down, paw/shake. He loves to play fetch and run. He is a great walking buddy and good guard dog who will alert you when someone is at the door. He loves to snuggle and get belly rubs. Unfortunately he needs to be rehomed due to my pregnant (second) and I can no longer care for him the way he deserves . He is great with some dogs, cats, and older children. Max is looking for a home where he can run off his energy and then lay in a comfy dog bed or curled up on the couch next to someone who will scratch under his chin, somewhere he can be carefree and enjoy running and playing and lots of belly rubs.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Check Me out !Oh Miss Pollie Ann!  Have you ever seen such a happy smush face?  Pollie is a tank of a gal that LOVES humans.  She is still very active and spry at her age and has a lot to offer a family.  She gets along with other dogs peacefully but has a playful nature that might not be appreciated to those that are more of a couch potato, but it's not aggressive just goofy.  Unfortunately she is losing her home and her current family due to a loss of a living space and potential eviction.  She has lived her entire life with a family in a home environment and we are hoping to find someone to continue that life for her into her retirement.  If you would be interested meeting her, please submit an application through our website at www.amazingstraysrescue.org.  She is up to date on vaccines and spayed.  Her adoption fee includes her microchip and first dose of flea and tick prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 29, 2024, 11:51 am

Great semi energetic snuggly little boy!! Please contact us to submit an application directly at Kzyrnr17@yahoo.com or info@dogdiggityrescue.com or  https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTX/Exotic/Other Rubble is a 6 mos old  (DOB 8 Feb 2023) 40 lb Boxer/Retriever mix.  He will be a medium to large dog as an adult.  Rubble, his mom (45 lb) and littermates were found running down access road of a highway when they were 5 weeks old.  Everyone in litter and mom died of Distemper (due to owner not giving them shots).  Rubble is the sole survivor.  He will be special needs throughout his life.  He is a very special puppy that has tons of love to give and loves all humans, children, playing with other polite /low energy dogs, playing with toys and visiting with volunteers/staff getting chicken /treats. Did we say he LOVES his humans?  When he plays and does his walk abouts you do not see any affects of distemper.  He is crate trained, walks on a leash and loves car rides.  He will benefit from some continued obediance training and public socialization with new environmental objects.  He will play, then will hang out on the couch or your lap.  He requires an owned home with a securely fenced yard in a colder climate as the hot TX temperature is not conducive to his health.   He is looking for a special needs mixed breed dog experienced family.  He will do best with another dog companion and someone that works from home or caregiver (female) is home.    No apartments.   Courtesay post for the Helotes Humane Society. Story
Bug is a new addition to PAWS so we are still getting to know him. He is one of three dogs that got abandoned on our property. Because of that rough transition to life, he is scared of most things and timid around all people. We are slowly getting to see his true personality. He does best when he can go as slow as he chooses and nothing is rushed. His safe space right now is his room and if things are rushed, he rushes back in. He is now comfortable walking to our play yard and loves to hang out with Ladybug but still has a hard time if he is not accompanied by his friend. Please allow us to give Bug time to learn and adjust at the pace he is comfortable with, more info coming soon.UPDATE: Bug has made a few new human friends but is a slow process. He is getting to know most of our staff and a few of our volunteers but he is still pretty shy around them. Anyone that is interested in adopting may have to come for a few visits in order to create a friendship before taking him home. He is still not quite ready to meet any doggy friends so for now, it would need to be a no dog home but that might change later in the future. He is showing very friendly and playful signs when he sees other dogs but his fears win in most cases. He gets spooked when they get too close and feels the need to put up a guard. Baby bug needs a home willing to give him all the time he needs with no rushed experiences. He is a very sweet boy but still very timid outside of his safe space (his kennel room). Feel free to call us at 360-533-1141 or email adopt@pawsgh.org if you would like to talk to our dog care specialist about Bug and his special needs in a home! Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org

Story
Ruby is a new addition to PAWS so we are still getting to know her. She is one of three dogs that got abandoned on our property. Because of that rough transition to life, she is shy at first but will warm up to you if you're patient with her. She is not a fan of strangers approaching her so she will bark and make herself seem big and scary but she is the complete opposite of her first impression. What she really wants is someone to give her all the love and attention she deserves. All she needs is a few moments to go at her own pace. She wants to be a happy and friendly lil lady but has a hard time trusting right off the bat. Just a few sniffs and you're in! She makes friends very quickly and has accepted friendship from everyone she has met thus far. Ruby has adjusted very well with our routines here at PAWS and is now such a happy friendly girl! She has learned that new faces mean new friends, and new cuddle buddies. She loves to see our volunteers and she loves to go on walks with anyone willing to take a little adventure with her. She is still learning her leash manners so she does pull but that is a work in progress! Her favorite thing is zoomies in our play yard with a few go, go, go's for encouragement. She must have been a linebacker in her past because she gets going super fast and will sometimes use a human body to break and slow herself down. Be prepared to brace yourself because she will tackle anyone in her way when those zoomies come out! Her other favorite thing is nap time after a good zoom session. She is a hard sleeper and is not a fan of being woken up early in the morning. We are also still learning about personal bubbles and self awareness (on size). She is still learning not to jump up on people to greet and no one told her she's not a lap dog size so she might jump into your lap if you let her! Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org

MORE INFO COMING SOON! I'm entering the Freedom Tails program and plan to graduate on July 3, 2024! pawsgh.org/freedomtailsDiesel, is a new addition to PAWS, along with two other pups that got abandoned on our property. We are still learning all there is to Diesel but he is taking this new transition to life pretty well considering all the scary experiences he just went through. He is very curious of his surroundings and enjoys a good sniff session out on walks or in our play yard. He has been very calm and quiet in his kennel but lights up when he realizes it's his turn for some outdoor time. He would be the best of both worlds, safari man adventuring in the day and couch potato cuddler in the night.4/25 My name is Diesel. I am here at training camp, but am really confused. See, this is my problem, when I came here I was given to one trainer and his friend. We bonded, got really close and then he just gave me away! I hope they don't pass me along again. I still get to see my first trainer and his friend though. Everytime I do I get so excited! Anway, I guess the new guys aren’t so bad. I’m sure I’ll like them after a little bit of time, maybe if they gave me more snacks I would like them faster…..Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org
