Story
Rex is a lovable, high-energy boxer looking for his forever family! He was born 2-13-2022. This handsome boy is full of personality—playful, affectionate, and always ready for an adventure. Like a true boxer, he’s goofy, loving, and always eager to be by your side. Rex gets along great with kids and other dogs, but because he jumps when excited, we recommend a home with children 5 and up. His ideal family should have experience with the boxer breed and understand their energetic nature. A fenced yard and an active household would be perfect for this bouncy boy! If Rex is the only dog in the home, he’ll need plenty of physical and mental stimulation to keep him happy and engaged. He thrives on playtime, training, and interactive activities that challenge both his body and mind. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, loyal companion who will keep you laughing and moving, Rex is your guy! His ideal home would be one with a securely fenced yard, and if there are kids in the home, over the age of 5. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
...Deacon was found as a stray by a member of the community on West Nixon Street in Pasco. He is neutered and ready to go home today!Deacon currently weighs about 77 pounds, and this big guy is quickly becoming a staff favorite. While he may be large in size, he`s every bit the gentle giant. There`s just something about him that makes you smile, and we often find ourselves looking at him and wondering... what`s not to love? One of Deacon`s favorite pastimes is rolling around in the grass like the happy `pittopotamus` he was clearly meant to be. Watching him soak up the sunshine with a goofy grin on his face is enough to brighten anyone`s day. He also knows how to sit, lay down, and even crawl, showing that he`s already got a few tricks up his sleeve.Deacon does well on a leash, though his enthusiasm sometimes gets the better of him at the beginning of a walk. Being a strong 77-pound dog, he can pull at first, but once he settles in, he`s much easier to handle and enjoys strolling alongside his person. We`re still getting to know Deacon, but everything we`ve seen so far points to him being an affectionate, fun-loving dog who simply wants someone to share life with. Whether he`s showing off his tricks, rolling in the grass, or leaning into you for attention, Deacon has a way of making everyone around him fall in love.Since Deacon was found as a stray, his history with other dogs or cats is unknown. Meet and greets are required with any dogs currently in the home prior to adoption.Deacon`s adoption fee is $50. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed, and as a stray-intake animal control facility, animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time.Come meet Deacon today—we have a feeling you`ll be asking yourself the same thing we do: what`s not to love?

Story
...Grace`s journey to our shelter is a bittersweet one. After her owner sadly passed away, Grace`s life was suddenly turned upside down. She was briefly rehomed, but just a few days later she was found wandering near the Pasco Airport and brought to us by a good Samaritan. When we called the phone number on her microchip, we learned the heartbreaking story — and that no one was coming to bring her home. Most recently she was adopted into a home that wasn`t the right and to no fault of her own ended up back here again.Grace arrived to us already spayed and is ready to go home today! After everything she’s been through, she’s hoping her next chapter truly is fur-ever.It’s clear the shelter environment has been a little stressful for her, which is understandable after so many sudden changes. Even so, it doesn’t take long to see that she’s a really good girl with a sweet nature and a playful side that will likely shine through more once she feels settled and safe.On a walk, Grace shows that she’s had some training. She knows commands like sit, down, and shake, and she’s potty trained too. She walks well on a leash, though she may pull a bit while she checks out all the new and interesting smells along the way. She takes treats gently, though right now she seems more interested in exploring than working for snacks. When passing other dogs she’s generally polite, occasionally offering a curious little “woof” before moving along.Grace weighs about 55 pounds and absolutely loves people. Since she was found as a stray again her history living with other dogs or cats is unknown. Her adoption fee is $50. Grace is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed. As a stray-intake animal control facility, animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time.If you have questions about Karma or would like to check her availability, please stop by the front desk, give us a call, or send us an email!

Story
...Juanita is still here, and she’s been getting passed by.She is spayed and ready to go home today!Since arriving, Juanita had a cyst removed and has fully healed. She has settled into shelter routine, and in that time we’ve been able to learn that she is a very capable, very steady dog once she understands what’s being asked of her.Juanita is smart and already has a good base of training. She listens well, picks things up quickly, and does best when she has structure and direction from her handler. What she needs most is consistency. A home that can provide routine, clear expectations, and daily engagement will see her at her best. She enjoys having something to do and responds well when she is included and guided, rather than left to figure things out on her own.She is not a difficult dog, but she is a dog who needs someone willing to actively participate in her continued success.Since she was found as a stray, her history with other dogs or cats is unknown. Meet and greets are required.Juanita’s adoption fee is $50. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed. Animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time.
