Story
Rex is a lovable, high-energy boxer looking for his forever family! He was born 2-13-2022. This handsome boy is full of personality—playful, affectionate, and always ready for an adventure. Like a true boxer, he’s goofy, loving, and always eager to be by your side. Rex gets along great with kids and other dogs, but because he jumps when excited, we recommend a home with children 5 and up. His ideal family should have experience with the boxer breed and understand their energetic nature. A fenced yard and an active household would be perfect for this bouncy boy! If Rex is the only dog in the home, he’ll need plenty of physical and mental stimulation to keep him happy and engaged. He thrives on playtime, training, and interactive activities that challenge both his body and mind. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, loyal companion who will keep you laughing and moving, Rex is your guy! His ideal home would be one with a securely fenced yard, and if there are kids in the home, over the age of 5. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

...Juanita is still here, and she’s been getting passed by.She is spayed and ready to go home today!Since arriving, Juanita had a cyst removed and has fully healed. She has settled into shelter routine, and in that time we’ve been able to learn that she is a very capable, very steady dog once she understands what’s being asked of her.Juanita is smart and already has a good base of training. She listens well, picks things up quickly, and does best when she has structure and direction from her handler. What she needs most is consistency. A home that can provide routine, clear expectations, and daily engagement will see her at her best. She enjoys having something to do and responds well when she is included and guided, rather than left to figure things out on her own.She is not a difficult dog, but she is a dog who needs someone willing to actively participate in her continued success.Since she was found as a stray, her history with other dogs or cats is unknown. Meet and greets are required.Juanita’s adoption fee is $50. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed. Animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time.

...Gabe was found as a stray by a good Samaritan on Helena Street in Pasco. He is neutered and ready to go home today!Gabe is one of those dogs who just feels easy to be around. At about 56 pounds, he’s got that young adult mix of confidence and goofiness, with a sweet nature underneath it all that shows up quickly once you spend a little time with him.He walks nicely on leash and tends to move through the world in a thoughtful way, especially when passing other dogs. Once he’s out on the trail, he really comes alive—sniffing everything, taking his time in the grass, and just enjoying being out and about like it’s the best part of his day.Gabe already knows sit, shake, and lay down, and he’s very food motivated and eager to please, which makes him fun to work with and easy to build a connection with. He’s the kind of dog who tries to figure out what you want from him and then happily leans into it.He’s got a medium to higher energy level, but it’s paired with a really sweet, willing personality. Like any young dog, he’ll do best with continued training, structure, and someone who wants to keep shaping all that potential into something solid.Since he was found as a stray, his history with other dogs or cats is unknown.Gabe is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. His adoption fee is $50.Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed. Animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time.If you’re looking for a genuinely good dog who’s ready to get out of the kennel and into a routine, Gabe is here waiting!

Story
...Rex first came through our shelter doors as a tiny 2-month-old puppy. He was adopted, grew up, and through no fault of his own has now found himself back here again as a young adult dog trying to figure things out all over again. He is neutered and ready to go home today!Rex is about 49 pounds and is one of those dogs that really pulls at the heartstrings for staff. After spending more time with him and having him evaluated by a behavioral consultant, it became clear that Rex needs more than just a home—he needs the right home. For the most part, Rex does very well with staff and volunteers and tends to warm up quickly to people he sees regularly. He loves playing fetch, tearing around the yard with zoomies, and spending time with the people he trusts. That said, Rex can be selective about who he is comfortable with, and because of behaviors observed both here and in his previous home, he is only available to an approved, experienced adopter willing to continue helping him succeed.Rex will do best with someone who understands the importance of structure, routine, continued training, and advocacy. He needs clear expectations, consistency, and someone willing to put in the time to help him continue building confidence and making good choices.Because of his history, Rex would not be a good fit for a home with children. His history with other dogs is unknown, though we suspect he may be selective about canine companions. His history with cats is also unknown.Rex’s adoption fee is $50. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed. Animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time. There is a really fun, goofy, intelligent dog in Rex, and staff would love to see him finally land with someone committed to helping him be his best self.
