Story
Oklahoma Joe was found as a stray and picked up by Animal Control on Tallahassee Lane in Pasco. He is now neutered and ready to go home today!Currently weighing about 46 pounds, Oklahoma Joe has a bright future ahead of him—we just hope the right person sees it too. It`s no secret that Joe is underweight. When he arrived, he was immediately placed on a carefully managed feeding plan to help him safely begin gaining weight. Dogs that have gone without adequate nutrition for an extended period can`t simply be fed as much as they`ll eat, as doing so can lead to a dangerous condition called refeeding syndrome. Instead, his meals have been carefully increased over time to give his body the best chance to recover safely, and he`s already making steady progress.Whatever Oklahoma Joe has been through, it`s clear someone spent time with him at some point in his life.He knows an impressive list of commands in both English and Spanish, including sit, stay, wait, lay down, shake, and speak. Some commands he`ll perform with verbal cues alone, and he absolutely loves showing off his skills for a tasty treat. Joe is very food motivated and genuinely enjoys working with people, making training sessions both fun and rewarding. He walks well on a leash with just a little pulling and has a wonderfully gentle demeanor. Like many dogs who have experienced food insecurity, he can become excited when he sees hands because he hopes they might have treats. For that reason, he may be best suited to a home without very young children or anyone who may have difficulty managing his enthusiasm around food.Oklahoma Joe is already beginning his glow-up, and it`s easy to picture just how handsome he`ll be once he`s filled out and settled into a loving home. More importantly, he`s simply a really nice dog who deserves the chance to leave his past behind and start the next chapter of his life.Since Oklahoma Joe was found as a stray, his history with other dogs or cats is unknown. Meet and greets are required with any dogs currently in the home prior to adoption.Oklahoma Joe`s adoption fee is $50. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed. Animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time.Come meet Oklahoma Joe and see just how m

Story
Rex is a lovable, high-energy boxer looking for his forever family! He was born 2-13-2022. This handsome boy is full of personality—playful, affectionate, and always ready for an adventure. Like a true boxer, he’s goofy, loving, and always eager to be by your side. Rex gets along great with kids and other dogs, but because he jumps when excited, we recommend a home with children 5 and up. His ideal family should have experience with the boxer breed and understand their energetic nature. A fenced yard and an active household would be perfect for this bouncy boy! If Rex is the only dog in the home, he’ll need plenty of physical and mental stimulation to keep him happy and engaged. He thrives on playtime, training, and interactive activities that challenge both his body and mind. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, loyal companion who will keep you laughing and moving, Rex is your guy! His ideal home would be one with a securely fenced yard, and if there are kids in the home, over the age of 5. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Hello this Is Luna and she is 4 yrs old. Me and my ex-bf had her since she was a puppy (5mons), she has been the only pet in the household. We lived in an apartment ever since, so she is house trained and potty trained. I’ve been very busy with work and life lately and I haven’t been able to give much attention she deserved. It is very hard for me to let her go but she needs a good home and family that can give her a lot of attentions, space to run around, and let her energy out, and specially love she needs . She is very vocal, lovable, and very silly dog. She can be very protective as she grow up alone.

Story
...Juanita is still here, and she’s been getting passed by.She is spayed and ready to go home today!Since arriving, Juanita had a cyst removed and has fully healed. She has settled into shelter routine, and in that time we’ve been able to learn that she is a very capable, very steady dog once she understands what’s being asked of her.Juanita is smart and already has a good base of training. She listens well, picks things up quickly, and does best when she has structure and direction from her handler. What she needs most is consistency. A home that can provide routine, clear expectations, and daily engagement will see her at her best. She enjoys having something to do and responds well when she is included and guided, rather than left to figure things out on her own.She is not a difficult dog, but she is a dog who needs someone willing to actively participate in her continued success.Since she was found as a stray, her history with other dogs or cats is unknown. Meet and greets are required.Juanita’s adoption fee is $50. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Story
Oatmeal, or `Oatty` for short, was picked up by Animal Control on 1/22/26.She is spayed and ready to go home today! At 40 pounds, Oatmeal is the perfect medium-sized companion. If you`ve been following Oatmeal`s journey, you`ll hardly recognize her. When she first arrived, she was in rough shape with wounds and significant skin issues that left her looking and feeling uncomfortable. Thanks to months of dedicated care, a loving foster home, and the guidance of our veterinary and medical staff, Oatmeal`s skin has healed beautifully. She looks absolutely amazing, and more importantly, she`s feeling so much better.During her time in foster care, Oatty continued to show everyone what a wonderful dog she can be. She walks beautifully on a leash, keeps a clean kennel, is likely potty trained, and absolutely loves people. She`s incredibly food motivated, eager to learn, and genuinely enjoys spending time with her humans.Oatmeal has so much potential. The foundation is there for someone willing to continue building her confidence through positive reinforcement and consistent training. We truly believe much of the dog you see today is a product of her past and the circumstances she came from, not who she is destined to be. Given the opportunity, patience, and guidance, we think Oatmeal will continue to blossom into an incredible companion.Because of what we know about her history and what we`ve observed, Oatmeal will likely do best as the only pet in her new home. We know that may narrow the search for her perfect family, but we`re confident that someone out there is looking for a dog just like Oatty and will love her exactly as she is.Oatmeal`s adoption fee is $50. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed. Animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time.Come meet Oatmeal and see just how far she`s come. We have a feeling her very best days are still ahead of her!
