Meet lovely Saiga! Born approximately July 26, 2021 she came to us via Tri City Animal Control. We initially treated her for parvo while in the care of animal control-she was lined up to go to a rescue in western WA when her former owners came forward and took her back into their care. Fast forward a bit and she landed back at animal control, we couldn’t let her remain in the shelter and so here she is! Saiga is amazing with people-she has the best kisses and loves human affection. Saiga's only weakness is that she's not good with other animals so will need to be in an only dog home. Even after training she is not safe around other animals so it's very important that she's adopted as an only pet. She will require a secure 6 foot fence - no chain link and no exceptions. This cream-colored boy is as handsome as they come, and he knows it! Arthur is the definition of a lovable, clingy, oversized marshmallow. If he could melt into your lap, he absolutely would… despite being roughly the size of a small horse. He just wants to be one with his person—is that really too much to ask? Arthur is mellow, sweet, and wonderfully clumsy, trotting around like a baby giraffe who hasn’t quite figured out where his legs end. He longs to please his people, be adored, and get all the belly rubs his big body can possibly soak in. And water? Oh, this boy LOVES water. He doesn’t just splash—he submerges his entire self like he’s auditioning to be a sea creature. A water-loving family would be his absolute paradise. HISTORY Arthur was found as a stray puppy with 2 littermates in Richland, WA. At the time that they were found, they were estimated to be roughly 4 months old. Since we don't know their true DOB, we have designated 3/27/25 as their DOB. Arthur is located in Kennewick, in Eastern Washington. We share information about our dogs in postings based in other cities to improve their chances of finding a great forever home. He is well worth a road trip, and we encourage you to come and meet him before you decide he should join your family! SOCIALIZATION, TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING Arthur is thriving in his foster home and is doing wonderful with the resident dogs (100lb Akita, and 20 lbs mixed breed). He enjoys playful canine friends and is growing more confident every day. He is also fostered with a toddler and has been pretty gentle with her—no jumping, no knocking over, just requests and appreciation for tiny human affection. Arthur is also fostered with a cat, but we do not believe him to be a candidate for a cat home at this time. While he does not mind the cat being in high spaces, he chases them as soon as they hop down to his level. Though his chase can be called off, we don't believe this to be his ideal environment. Arthur LOVES meeting new people and will gladly lean his entire body weight into anyone willing to pet him. He’s a velcro dog through and through. He would thrive in a home where someone works from home or is around often. Being close to his human is his love language. Arthur is around 8 months old, which means he is officially entering the doggy teenage stage—also known as the “I forgot everything I’ve ever learned but I’m still very cute” phase. Think of it as his goofy middle school era. He may test boundaries, get distracted by a leaf blowing across the yard, and have opinions about things he didn’t notice before. It’s all normal, temporary, and honestly pretty hilarious. With consistency, patience, and fun training sessions, he’ll grow right through it and come out the other side an amazing adult dog. HEALTH STATUS General info Arthur is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, sterilized, and dewormed. He appears to be in good health. Born, February 26, 2022 Styx is a Husky/Pitbull mix who weighs about 75 pounds. He is very sweet, snuggly and playful. He loves all humans and just wants to be near people. He will roll over to get his belly rubbed or try to sit as near as possible - which might be in your lap. He can get exuberant and be a little pushy so we are working on boundaries. Styx is potty trained and kennels well but would welcome an invitation to sleep with his people. He walks well with a front clip leash, and doesn’t react to other dogs behind fences or walking by. He would love a home where he gets lots of exercise walking, running, hiking, camping however, he also settles down and will take a nice nap on the couch. Van Haagar is doing so well in his foster home but he would love to lay down some roots in a forever home! Van Haagar was born 9/27/2022 and is a pitty mix. Here is what his foster mom has to say about him: He LOVES food and is very treat motivated, which is amazing for training. He is very sweet, and I think he just needs a lot of love and patience as he gets used to a new home. He truly just wants to hang out and spend time with his humans and doggy friends. Other fun facts: He loves his bed and the couches…anything soft! He loves to snuggle - he makes the perfect coach potato. He is hesitant of loud noises. He is kennel trained but prefers the couch. 🛋️ He is house trained. He does get curious of the trash can because he is so food driven so a trash can with a lid is recommended. 😂 He enjoys car rides-especially if a pup cup is involved He is working on leash training because he does tend to pull but he does pretty great with recall. He gets along well with his foster dog siblings- but he can play rough sometimes. He would live a sibling that matches his energy and play style Cats would be a big NO 🐈🐈‍⬛ Kids are unknown but his foster would recommend kids 8+ just because he is a big boy and could easily knock over a little one. Cooper is one of those amazing pups that has been waiting for his forever home since he was only 8 weeks old. “Everyone wants a puppy!” Is the common thought, but if that is true, why is Cooper now a year old and still not in his forever home? Cooper is good with kids, other dogs and he find cats interesting. He has been to training classes, likes learning new things, doing new things and requires regular exercise (not just a back yard to hang out in). Being a bully breed, Cooper does have allergy issues and is on a daily medication. His foster is awaiting test results to learn what all he is allergic to. He may even require a special diet to keep his allergies at bay. If you are committed to meeting the needs of this amazing pup, please fill out our adoption questionnaire.
