Story
Hi everyone – I’m Lucy, a very mischievous 12 year-old.  I love my daughter Susie and we go everywhere together so I’m looking for a home where we can be adopted together. Why Lucy and Susie are such a perfect pair and will only be adopted together: They are bonded at the hip and literally don’t like to go anywhere without each other.  They love being together and caring for one another. They love everybody! They are great with other dogs and humans of all ages. (Ok maybe they love cats a little too much to share a home with them.)  Golden years but with loads of energy!  Don’t be fooled by their ages – while they are mature, sweet-natured, and well-socialized companion dogs, they both still have plenty of spunk and love to play, run, and explore even while they like their quiet time and snoozing by your side. They are Brittanys with the dial turned down just a tad.  Perfect for the Brittany lover. They represent all the classic traits of the breed. Cuddle masters? Check. Outdoor adventures? Yes please. Pulling on the leash? No way!  They have mastered good leash manners with their twice daily walks (mandatory for their well being and good manners).  Exploring their yard and lounging in the sun?  Absolutely.  Well-behaved and able to be left uncrated in the house when their parents are away?  Mastered.   These two will need a home with a good sized yard surrounded by a sturdy 5-foot fence that is secured at the bottom. They are spayed, current on their vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Lucy’s corner: Not to brag, but my foster parents say I am pure sweetness.  I like to think of myself as the matriarch of the house:  confident, curious, and tail always wagging.  You’ll often find me  waddling around the house checking on everyone in the family.  Who are you calling old:  The vet says I’m in excellent health!  Twelve years young. Did I tell you I’m rather adventurous?  I love to explore the yard and initially looked for escape routes to go on walkabouts.  My twice daily walks with my foster parents have tempered my desire to roam, although I do need a yard with a fence that is secured at the bottom. Lucy’s adoption fee is $250.00 (their combined adoption fee is $500.00).  Note Lucy and Susie are eligible for the senior-to-senior adoption fee of $150.00 per dog for qualified adopters ($300.00 combined senior-to-senior adoption fee).   If you are interested in making Lucy and Susie members of your family, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line application found under the Adopt tab. Once the application has been completed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator.  A phone interview, home visit and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.   Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs.  We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Lucy and Susie are eligible for our canine railroad and can be transported up to 1400 miles from Portland OR with the last leg (100) being driven by the adopter.      May 11, 2025, 4:07 pm

Story
Coconut is the cutest black and white brit mix (primarily setter) you will ever see. She is very intelligent, athletic, loyal, and cuddly.   She is a 3 year-old and weighs 35 pounds.  She LOVES people, and is really good on her leash walks.  Coconut’s foster mom has worked on Coconut’s social skills and Coconut is quite polite and well-behaved in social settings. She even walked politely through a nursery without knocking over plants or trying to eat them.  Coconut’s foster mom has even taken Coconut to work where she either lays quietly on the floor or talks to the other employees. Coconut is a high energy girl, very birdy, and will need a home with a yard that is has a 6 ft privacy fence so she can safely run zoomies and hang out in the sun.  She is going to need a home where her people understand her exercise needs and can take her on daily walks/runs.  Coconut also loves her toys although squeakies aren’t the best since she has been known to tear out the squeaker and you would want to avoid a squeakerectomy. Coconut would do well as an only dog or would be okay with another dog who is not a bully.  She is not timid with other dogs and will check aggressive dogs, will guard, but loves to play.  Coconut can get jealous when another dog tries to get her toys or treats and will tell the other dog off.  When she is corrected she responds appropriate and immediately.  She does tend to play hard so a small dog is probably not appropriate Coconut likes to get your attention by putting your hand in her mouth.  She doesn’t bite or pull but just gently holds your hand until you respond.  A little training should be able to transfer this behavior to just nosing your hand for attention.   Coconut also loves to herd her people.  Coconut does have a hip pin from surgery required after sh was hit by a car.  Her surgery was successful and she loves to run. Coconut needs a person or family that takes her with them for most everything.  A home where someone is home most of the time would also be ideal.  She just wants to be with people and wants to go with them. She is polite and great in every setting her foster family has tested.   She would do ok with a single person that needs a companion for adventures, or with a family that takes the dog with them for adventures Coconut is spayed, current on her vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $325.00.  If you are interested in making Coconut a member of your family, and have the time, energy, and love to give her, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process. If you have questions after you have completed the adoption application, contact Patti at 801.641.4053.   Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs.  We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Coconut can be adopted up to 1400 miles from her foster home to eligible adopters.June 15, 2025, 9:05 pm

Meet Figge — aka Figge Newton, the fun-sized firecracker with a heart of gold!  This adorable 2 year-old, 45-pound purebred Brittany is orange and white, neutered, long-tailed, and ready to leap into his forever home (possibly literally — wait till you hear about his squirrel obsession!).  Full of energy, joy, and love, Figge is your classic young Brittany: playful, athletic, and always up for an adventure. Whether he’s chasing squirrels, zooming around the yard, or learning a new trick, Figge lives life in full throttle. He needs an active family who can keep up with his fun-loving spirit and provide daily exercise and continued training. Got energy? You just met your match!   Important note: Figge can clear a 5ft fence if something catches his eye (especially a bushy-tailed squirrel), so his future home must have a secure 6ft fence (iron or cinder block preferred but not mandatory) or be a townhome with no yard. Safety first for this spring-loaded boy! Once he’s gotten his zoomies out, Figge becomes the ultimate cuddlebug. He’s one of the sweetest, mushiest Brittanys you’ll ever meet — happy to curl up with you on the couch, snuggle in bed, or just hang out while you binge your favorite shows. He’s all heart, and he LOVES his people (especially the teenagers in his foster home!). Because of his playful bounce, kids 10 and up are the best match. Figge thrives with a canine buddy who can keep up with his play style — he’s not picky about breed, just wants a friend to romp with! He’s smart and eager to please, already knows commands like sit, wait, down, an /d shake — and he’d be a total rockstar in agility or obedience. What else is awesome about Figge? Rides like a champ in the car  Fully potty trained and crate trained  Does great on leash and loves saying “hi!” to everyone — think: furry Walmart greeter!  Still a chewer, so he only gets the good stuff: Kongs, Goughnuts, Westpaw, Tuffy, ChuckIt balls, and supervised puzzle games Bonus quirk: Obsessed with ice cubes — he’ll sprint to the fridge when he hears the dispenser!    Figge is bright, bouncy, affectionate, and totally unforgettable. He’s ready for a forever home that loves adventure and cuddle time. If you’re looking for a furry best friend who brings energy, fun, and endless affection into your life — Figge is waiting to meet you!       The adoption fee for Figge, who lives in Highlands Ranch, CO is $400,  which helps offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making Figge a part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting  www.nbran.org .    Your state coordinator/volunteer will conduct a phone interview, home visit and vet check as part of the approval process.  Once all 3 have been approved, we will begin the matching process.        Transportation can be arranged up 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.   June 13, 2025, 2:17 pm

They are spayed, current on their vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Susie’s corner: They call me Susie the Snuggler! I love to squish my way onto your lap or melt into bed with my mom Lucy.  I do have some arthritis so I’m on daily medication that really makes me feel so much better and allows me move like I’m years younger than I am. My heart of gold has a slight murmur, but the vet says I’m ok and it just needs to be monitored. We did lots of tests so we can keep a close eye on it as the years go by! Story
Hi everyone!  My name is Triss.  I’m an adorable, one-year old weighing in at 30 lbs. I’m a very curious girl and love following you around the house to see what you’re doing and if I can help.  After an introduction I get along great with other dogs and love to play keep away and wrestle with my Brittany foster sister. I am good with all adults and well-mannered, mature children.  I haven’t been around cats so don’t know if I’d want them in my house. Like most Brittanys, I love hunt critters and will happily defend your yard by chasing and pointing out birds and squirrels.  My favorite toys are bones, stuffed toys, and balls.  After some daily exercise, I enjoy curling up on the couch next to you while you work, watch TV, or read a book.  I do occasionally grab a shoe to try and play with, but my foster family is helping me with my house/leash manners and training.  Despite my puppy tendencies, I am an excellent backseat pup and ride well in the car (properly tethered in, of course) and sleep in my kennel at night.  My ideal home would be somewhere I can stay active and busy. I need a home with a good-sized yard to play in that has a secure 6-foot fence. I also need someone who can give me attention, interaction, and mental stimulation. If I don’t have that, I can get a little mischievous.  I would love to have another pup to play with in my new home.  Daily exercise is a must! Overall, I have good instincts and am a quick learner. My perfect home would be an active family willing to show me patience and love as I work on learning to be the best dog I can be. The adoption fee for Triss is $400.  Triss is spayed, current on her vaccinations and microchipped. If you are interested in making Triss a member of your family, and have the time, energy, and love to give her, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab. Triss can be adopted up to 1400 miles from her foster home to eligible adopters. June 15, 2025, 7:15 pm

Story
Zena is a beautiful sweet girl that loves her humans.  Her foster parents stated she is a perfect angel in the house and loves cuddles.  She loves sharing a pillow at night and sleeping with the family.  As a young Brittany, she does need her exercise.  She must be walked on a harness and requires more training walking on a leash. She will require a playmate to help burn off some Brittany energy.  Also requires a 6 ft privacy fence for playing and sunshine. Zena is crate trained also. She is up to date on vaccines, Heartworm negative, spayed and microchipped. Cats are not recommended as she has a prey drive even though not a hunting dog.  Her adoption fee is $400.00.  If you are interested in making Zena a member of your family, and have the time, energy, and love to give her, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process. Brinley is the sweetest girl ever, just a cuddle bug that loves treats. A whole with kids or family would be great. She’s a well tempered dog, super mellow and sweet. She is 7 years old. My living situation is changing quickly and I won’t be able to give her the loving space she needs or time she needs with the hours I work. She loves running around in the backyard and laying in the sun.
