Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thanks to a generous donor who wants to help her get adopted - he will pay her adoption fee in full. She also comes with Tractive GPS free for 1 year.   Amber had a very hard start in life. The people in KY who had her left her tied to a tree from the time she was a pup until she was about 1 year old, with no shelter. Thankfully, one of our KY rescue friends heard about her & went to the house & said she would take her and find her a good home. They said, 'Going ahead, take her!' Amber is a petite, athletic girl weighing about 40 pounds, with the spirit and agility of a much bigger dog. She once proved she could clear a 6‑foot fence in pursuit of her very serious squirrel‑watching duties — not to escape, but because she’s convinced she’s faster than gravity. For her safety, Amber needs to stay on‑leash outdoors, and she has good leash manners with someone attentive who monitors her prey drive. To me she looks like a mini-Chocolate lab with a red hue in the sun. She is very pretty and also incredibly smart. On a recent walk, Amber encountered a black snake. She was curious at first, but once she realized what it was, she calmly gave it a wide berth and moved on. She knows when to steer clear of trouble — such a good girl. Inside the home, Amber is pure love. After greeting everyone on her neighborhood walks with a happy tail and a friendly wiggle, she likes to spend her day relaxing on her favorite perch — a big doggy bed in front of a window — where she can dream about birds and squirrels. At sundown, when her foster mom finally sits down to watch TV, Amber quietly comes over and lies next to her, just barely touching, and stays that way until it’s time for her last potty break. She is perfectly housebroken and will come find you to let you know she needs to go out. Amber is a devoted cuddle buddy who sleeps in bed with her foster mom every night. She doesn’t take up much room and settles in beautifully. And best of all — Amber is a bona‑fide kid lover. When she sees children on her walks, her whole body lights up with joy. She wiggles, she smiles, her tail goes into helicopter mode, and she wants nothing more than to greet them. She would thrive in a family with kids who enjoy a sweet, affectionate, silly companion. She also has an adorable shoe-collecting hobby, or maybe we should call it a fetish? She gathers them from the closet but has never chewed a single one! It’s just part of her charm. (see photo of her collection) Amber is a wonderful mix of cuddly, funny, athletic, gentle, and smart. She’s ready for a family who will keep her safe on‑leash outdoors and give her all the affection she adores.   We accept Venmo, Zelle, PayPal & Credit Cards for the adoption fee.   About LNF Dogs/Puppies: All dogs and puppies have undergone temperament testing. They live in foster homes. They are housebroken (puppies are paper-trained) and crate trained. They have been microchipped for identification purposes. They have been tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, and Lyme disease. Each dog is on year-round Heartworm medication while in the rescue's care. They are up-to-date with Rabies, Bordetella, Distemper, Parvo, and Leptospirosis vaccines. They have been de-wormed. Adoption Fee: The adoption fee includes 30 days of FREE pet insurance, with an option to purchase additional coverage. The rescue strives to provide the best medical care to ensure the health of the dogs, including spaying or neutering. Adoption Requirements: A minimum physical fence of 4 feet in height is mandatory and must be installed. Some dogs may require a 6-foot wood or vinyl fence, as noted in their profiles. Electric fences are not accepted under any circumstances. These requirements and procedures are in place to ensure the safety and well-being of the adopted dogs and to provide potential adopters with healthy and well-cared-for pets. It's important for anyone interested in adopting from this rescue organization to meet these criteria and provide a suitable and safe environment for the dogs.   Click here to watch a video of Amber.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 17, 2026, 5:43 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Bella is about 10 years old, but certainly does not act her age! She has been in a loving home for almost 8 years, and is now in need of a home in which the owner is home more often. Bella has been through extensive training, and knows many commands including sit, stay, down, wait, touch, come, place, and crate.  She is house-trained, crate trained, and great on a leash. She is up to date on vetting and presently has a clean bill of health. She is great with people and children. She has only been around a baby once, and seemed reserved and a bit scared of her. The reason Bella was returned to our rescue is because of her anxiety when left alone for long periods of time. Several medications have been tried, but she may still bark when left alone in her crate. Her foster has one medication which does help her for 2 to 3 hours before she gets anxious. Given her owner moved into a townhouse, and works full time, this will not work with neighbors potentially hearing her barking.  Presently, Bella stays with one foster, and another one helps if the present foster is gone for a long day and evening. If you are interested in either being her long term foster or adopter, the foster that has her is willing to provide you with support or free boarding for anytime it is needed. This foster lives in Eastern Baltimore County area and says she is just the perfect loving companion for someone who is home most of the time.
