Story
Sarong is a summer sensation with personality to spare! She’s a versatile gal who can go from pool-party social butterfly to lounging-in-the-shade sweetheart without missing a beat. Always ready to make a splash, Sarong brings sunshine wherever she goes and knows how to keep the good vibes flowing. Whatever the occasion, Sarong is ready to accessorize your life with a little extra fun, sunshine, and sass.
Here's some notes from her foster :
She arrived a little worse for wear, and with a little TLC, she's cleaned up beautifully and is looking and feeling like a whole new girl. Don't let the face fool you. Sarong has a permanent "don't mess with me" expression (RBF, dog edition) that has nothing to do with her actual personality. She is, without exaggeration, one of the sweetest, most devoted dogs her foster has ever cared for.
She greets her people every morning with a full downward-dog stretch and a paw pressed hopefully onto your leg, unmistakably asking for pets. She's a true shadow, she'll follow you from room to room, and has even paused mid-meal just to go check where you've wandered off to before trotting back to finish eating.
Sarong is playful and genuinely dog-like in the best way, she loves chasing squeaky toys, tossing them around herself, and going for a good sniffy walk (she's a polite leash walker who doesn't pull). Though Muttville estimates her around ten years old, her energy tells a different story, she jumps, sprints, and handles stairs with real agility, and she was even brave enough to work through an initial fear of stairs until she could take them like a pro. She's confident and friendly with every dog she meets on walks (you'll hear about it if she doesn't get to say hello), and we think she'd do wonderfully in a home with a canine companion.
One thing to know: Sarong isn't much of a cuddler. Between her dense, fluffy coat and a tendency to run warm, she prefers being nearby rather than snuggled up, her love language is presence, not lap time. She's whip-smart too, though "smart" doesn't always mean "eager to please," commands like sit, stay, and down are still a work in progress.
Sarong is a doll, funny, devoted, brave, and full of personality, and we think the right family is going to fall for her every bit as hard as her foster has. If you're an active, patient adopter (ideally one who's home a good amount, or has a second dog to keep her company) who's ready to help her keep growing into her best self, Sarong would love to meet you.
