John Jacob

Cairn Terrier

Male, 9 yrs
Portland, OR
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
Spayed or Neutered,
This is sweet John Jacob! He is a 9 year old white scruffy weighing about 15 lbs! John Jacob really is an easy little dog! His foster leaves him free roaming and he is great, does not damage anything. She says he is potty trained and well behaved. John Jacob loads in the car on his own and rides quietly in the back or front seat. He is easy on leash- according to his 87 year old foster mom. He will sometimes bark if he hears something outside the door, and wants to protect you, but does not bark incessantly. He stops if you tell him. He has a scruffy coat and as you can see he is missing hair down his back but that will come back. It was because he was covered in fleas when he came to us. He is such a SWEET little dog! He loves people, loves to sit next to you and just be your best little friend! Would make an awesome companion for a senior person!! John will bark at new people so slow intros are highly recommended for this little guy! He is very good motivated so training should be a breeze! He is very cat friendly! He has met a few dogs with us, just wags his tail and sniffs them and wants to say hello. He is a great dog! We are just guessing on his breed, we cannot be sure since he is a rescue. Does John sound like the right guy for your home? Adoption Link: Questions? Please email: Available for adoption in NV, UT, ID, OR, WA and Canada! Brought by USDA licensed semi-truck transport. The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes. Follow along on our rescue journeys through the links below! *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $42 surcharge.
