Story
Meet Patrick! A small boy with a big personality! Patrick, a male Bull Terrier puppy, is 3 months old and weighs 17 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, crate trained, and housebroken. Patrick came to WAGS after being returned to the shelter due to his inability to walk on a leash; as a result, he would act aggressively toward the leash. He has been leash-trained here at rescue, and we have been very successful with Patrick. Patrick was not treated well before any of his shelter experience, showing great fear toward normal items like brooms, leashes, and mops. We believe that Patrick was abused, and therefore, we recommend ongoing training for Patrick throughout his life, not just for structure but also for bonding and love. Patrick is a darling boy, and with the right, dedicated person, he will grow to be an amazing companion.

Story
Meet Commissioner, a 2-year-old Bull Terrier mix who was found as a stray in Broward County and brought to Big Dog Ranch Rescue in hopes of finding the forever home he deserves. This fun-loving boy is full of personality and high energy, making him a great match for someone who enjoys staying active. Whether it’s running around in the yard, splashing in the water, or playing with his favorite toys, Commissioner is always up for an adventure. He also has a soft side and absolutely loves to cuddle once playtime is over. Commissioner is good with other dogs and has shown he can thrive in a home with canine companions. He knows basic commands and is eager to please, especially when there are treats involved. Thanks to his playful and friendly nature, he’d be a good match for adopters with any level of dog experience, including first-time dog owners—just be prepared to keep up with his energy! Due to his high prey drive, Commissioner is not a good fit for homes with cats. But if you’re looking for a dog who will keep you smiling, moving, and feeling loved, Commissioner could be your perfect match!

Story
Jett is a pocket pitty with a heart so big it barely fits in his compact little body - he goes from stranger to best friend in approximately 0.2 seconds. He loves snuggles, toys, treats, and a good case of the zoomies, all at a medium energy level that makes him wonderfully manageable. Jett does best as the only pet in the home, where he can soak up every bit of love and attention without competition. He is the kind of dog who makes every day feel like the best day. Story
Georgia is 13 months old. She is deaf and blind since birth. She loves all people and all dogs plays with my 8 and 10 year old grandchildren and my 2 recues-both 60 pounds, one is12 the other is 5. I adopted her from Peggy adams at 13 weeks. I have recently lost my husband and I need to go back to work. I would love to find someone looking for a special needs dog and looking to love her as much as she gives love. She is 65 pounds. She loves walks and other dogs that she can get to know and those would guide her. She will need to mentally map her new home in order to navigate it without injury. Georgia loves treats. She carries a stuffed animal around like it is her baby. I keep her crated at night and when I am not home with her to prevent injury. She spent 2 weeks at K9 diversity training and did well with other dogs. I would love to find a person that would give her love and nurture her. Geogia is facinated by rain. Georgia is a miracle and needs a miracle. Please help her.

Story
Ray is the sweetest Bulldog whose life was turned upside down when he was pushed out of a car and abandoned. A kind woman saw this horrific act and fortunately, Ray hopped in her car so she could bring him to Abandoned Pet Rescue. Ray is about [age] old and in overall good health besides having normal senior traits like arthritis. Ray does have dry eyes, but he's very good for his eye drops and this qualifies him for APR's Medical Adoption Program, which means the drops will be covered by APR. Ray weighs [weight], but he looks smaller and he walks slow and gentle on a leash. He is potty trained and this happy boy is always wagging his tail and snuggling up for kisses. Ray is a volunteer favorite so he's gone on several day outings with them and everyone raves how sweet and well-behaved he is! Ray is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Story
Hi, I’m Andy! I’m a [age] old, [weight] purebred English Bulldog with lots of love (and snorts) to give. I’m looking for an adult-only home where I can be the center of attention. My perfect day includes napping on the couch, giving you my best “feed me” stare, and zooming after a tennis ball. I may be a bulldog, but I’ve got some surprising moves! Because of my breed, I’m not into long walks or hot weather. A few short strolls and some playtime at home are just right. I walk well on a leash and can ignore other animals, but at home, I want to be your one and only. Andy is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. If you’re looking for snuggles, laughs, and a loyal buddy, I’m your guy. Apply to adopt me at AbandonedPetRescue.org

Story
Smiling Sammy! Meet this [age] old, [weight] Black Mouth Cur / Boxer mix with a sweet, people-oriented nature. She is very tuned in to the energy around her and takes her cues from her humans — calm environments bring out her relaxed, gentle side, while playtime brings out her happy zoomies. She would thrive in a low-key home with adults where people enjoy a balanced routine. She doesn’t need heavy exercise, but she does enjoy daily walks and the occasional burst of play to get her wiggles out. Once she’s had that, she’s content to settle and be close to her people. She is very smart and knows many commands plus she's potty trained and crate trained. She’s best suited to someone who understands that dogs like her do well when humans set a calm, confident tone. She is an affectionate, steady companion who wants to belong and be part of everyday life. You can follow Sammy's adventures and fall in love with her on Instagram at @sammy.apr. To meet sweet Sammy, please fill out an adoption application at abandonedpetrescue.org Sammy is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and ready for adoption at Abandoned Pet Rescue - a no-kill shelter in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
