Story
When you eat your Thanksgiving turkey- will you think of me?? I will be right next to you trying to get it... NOW will you think of me?? LOL, ok, I kid.... I do love turkey though :) I am Wishbone, and I am a bull terrier/beagle mixed boy with a story to tell! I am so smart like a bull terrier- somewhat stubborn, like a bull terrier, but I follow my NOSE like a beagle! I am super cute, only about 40# and I am pretty active. I love to have a hard playing buddy, no small animals (like kitties) as I have a prey drive- like a bull terrier.. you see where I am going with this, right?? I would love have an active family, kids older than grade school as I love a moving target and smaller ones don't quite understand that. I am a love bug, and once tired out I am the bestest cuddler! So, what are you waiting for? Look me up, take me on adventures when you apply to adopt me! ADOPT, DON'T SHOP!!!! MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

LAILA Available for Local Foster only FAST FACTSFemale, Bull Terrier, 30 pounds, 1 year oldSweet, Loving, Cuddly, Playful, HappyHigh EnergyPeople FriendlySelectively Dog FriendlyPotty TrainedCrate Trained Greetings from Layla the Lovebug. My brother Oriel and I were surrendered to CARE by our previous owners. Being left at the shelter was a traumatic experience, but I’ve settled into my new surroundings and have wiggled my way into the hearts of the staff and volunteers. They tell me I’m an eternal puppy who makes friends with everyone (a bit hesitant with certain men) and never runs out of energy. I crave attention and affection, especially pets on my head, chin, and neck. I like being as close as possible to people and am at my calmest when being shown love. Walks—I call them “sniffs”—are another favorite activity. My walking style is erratic, as I like to move from side-to-side to make sure I don’t miss anything. So I’ll definitely need you to work with me on my leash manners. I’m always up for a game of chase the ball or squeaky and am really good about returning my toys and dropping them at your feet—anything to keep you playing with me. I don’t seem to have had any obedience training and am just starting to learn some basic commands. But please keep teaching me, because I’m very treat-motivated and will work for rewards. I’m potty trained and tolerate my crate, although I do bark when left alone.  So…are you looking for a loving shadow who will keep you company through thick and thin and make you smile even when you’re feeling down? Then your search is over. Please fill out an adoption application right away and come and meet me. I’ll be waiting for you! I have been spayed and microchipped and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325.00. For more information or if you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption survey at carenorthshore.org/dog-adoption-survey Love & licks,LailaMay 27, 2024, 9:40 am

Story
Meet Chucho, a 2-year-old pocket pittie (plus mystery breed?) with an extra-curly tail, a mastery of lounging on the sofa, and a shameless quest for snacks and snuggles. He's eager to please and once he feels safe and familiar with someone he'll be your dedicated sidekick. He loves rewards (of the food or praise variety), making it a breeze to teach him commands and your expectations. He likes to be mentally engaged as much as he likes to be physically engaged, but also enjoys hanging out in the sun, in front of the tv, or looking out a window. He thrives with a slightly older, well-balanced dog sibling in his house, respects cats, and excels at the role of little brother. He plays well with dog friends of all sizes and ages at daycare. Chucho is a quick learner but he's also a determined student. This helps him build strong bonds with the people in his life. He gets a little nervous in loud environments or unfamiliar settings but finds comfort in his human and animal friends. He has some leash/barrier reactivity, but his foster family has noticed huge improvements in his self-control and emotional regulation through patient guidance and consistency. He's a very empathetic dog with a huge heart and he picks up on the vibes of the people and animals in his home. Positive reinforcement and structure are the name of the game for Chucho! His perfect forever home would be one with at least one active human who likes to spend quality time working/playing with Chucho, and ideally another dog sibling for company and partner-in-crime-time. Socializing is important for Chucho, so a forever home that's willing to put him in daycare once or twice a week or have regular playtime with trusted, familiar dogs will make him a super happy boy. He's also VERY good-looking, so his future family must be comfortable getting constant compliments about how handsome he is and be prepared to spend hours adoring his adorable, jowly face.

Story
Alpine is sure a unique-looking young boy; he is thought to possibly be a mix of Jack Russell, Rat Terrier, Bull Terrier?? However he’s on the larger size, for being a Jack Russel or Rat Terrier mix!! We believe that Alpine’s full, adult weight will be around 50 lbs. It is most important to note that we do not know just how big Alpine will become as an adult…his new family must be willing to accept him, no matter what his adult size! Alpine’s estimated date of birth is June 5th 2023. He’s a typical puppy, very energetic and playful. He likes to jump and can sometimes forget himself and be a little too rough with other dogs. But….…he is young and needs to learn boundaries and manners in order to evolve into a wonder family member with a forever family he so deserves.. Alpine likes playing with other dogs; he’s great with dogs and would enjoy the companionship of another dog in the home. Most likely, a young or middle-aged adult dog would prefer his company more so than a senior dog. An ideal family for Alpine is one able to assimilate the enthusiasm and playfulness of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Alpine to be his best self! A secure fenced yard is required; another younger or middle-aged pup in the family could also be advantageous. Alpine is crate-trained and is working hard to improve his house manners (housebreaking). He is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. His neuter is included in his adoption fee. For information about adding this adorable boy to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Note that BAARK is located in Barrington and adopts primarily within the Northwestern Suburbs of Chicagoland.

Legend - HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS ADOPTION SPECIAL $100 Legend is a 2 year old, 48.5 pound, altered, male, Bully mix that came to us as a stray. He was found running loose on a golf course, and he had lots of fun evading animal control. When Legend first came in, he was very stressed being in his kennel. After he had some time to decompress, he started feeling much better. Legend is a happy guy that loves cuddles, hugs, and people. When he first gets out of his kennel, his main priority is to be near you. Once he’s had time to play, he calms down quickly and does his own thing. He enjoys being by his people and chewing his toys. Legend has been completely vetted, neutered and utd on all shots, hw neg. His adoption fee is $100.
