Story
Alpine is sure a unique-looking young boy; he is thought to possibly be a mix of Jack Russell, Rat Terrier, Bull Terrier?? However he’s on the larger size, for being a Jack Russel or Rat Terrier mix!! We believe that Alpine’s full, adult weight will be around 50 lbs. It is most important to note that we do not know just how big Alpine will become as an adult…his new family must be willing to accept him, no matter what his adult size! Alpine’s estimated date of birth is June 5th 2023. He’s a typical puppy, very energetic and playful. He likes to jump and can sometimes forget himself and be a little too rough with other dogs. But….…he is young and needs to learn boundaries and manners in order to evolve into a wonder family member with a forever family he so deserves.. Alpine likes playing with other dogs; he’s great with dogs and would enjoy the companionship of another dog in the home. Most likely, a young or middle-aged adult dog would prefer his company more so than a senior dog. An ideal family for Alpine is one able to assimilate the enthusiasm and playfulness of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Alpine to be his best self! A secure fenced yard is required; another younger or middle-aged pup in the family could also be advantageous. Alpine is crate-trained and is working hard to improve his house manners (housebreaking). He is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. His neuter is included in his adoption fee. For information about adding this adorable boy to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Note that BAARK is located in Barrington and adopts primarily within the Northwestern Suburbs of Chicagoland.

When you eat your Thanksgiving turkey- will you think of me?? I will be right next to you trying to get it... NOW will you think of me?? LOL, ok, I kid.... I do love turkey though :) I am Wishbone, and I am a bull terrier/beagle mixed boy with a story to tell! I am so smart like a bull terrier- somewhat stubborn, like a bull terrier, but I follow my NOSE like a beagle! I am super cute, only about 40# and I am pretty active. I love to have a hard playing buddy, no small animals (like kitties) as I have a prey drive- like a bull terrier.. you see where I am going with this, right?? I would love have an active family, kids older than grade school as I love a moving target and smaller ones don't quite understand that. I am a love bug, and once tired out I am the bestest cuddler! So, what are you waiting for? Look me up, take me on adventures when you apply to adopt me! ADOPT, DON'T SHOP!!!! MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

ORIEL Available for Local Foster only FAST FACTSMale, Bull Terrier, 25 pounds, 1 year oldLoving, Sweet, Cuddly, Playful, HappyHigh EnergyPeople FriendlyDog FriendlyPotty TrainedCrate Trained Hi everyone.  I’m Oriel, and my sister Layla and I were surrendered to CARE by our previous owners. I won’t sugarcoat it—being abandoned was sad and scary.  But thanks to the kindness of the staff and volunteers and my naturally upbeat, affectionate personality, I quickly started making friends and adjusting to my new circumstances.  I’m assured these are temporary, and that I’ll soon be moving on to my forever home. So let me tell you a few things about me.  First and foremost, I’m a lap dog who thrives on attention, particularly chin pets and cuddles, and being as close to a human as possible.  I also like action, including walks (I’m a little strong on the leash but easily redirected), playing with soft toys and my sister, and working food puzzles.  Although I don’t seem to have had any obedience training, I’m very treat-oriented and will work for rewards, so I’m ready and willing to learn.  Lastly, I’m starting to get the hang of potty training and can be crated, although I’d sure rather be with you!According to everyone at CARE, I’m a sweet and snuggling cutie pie who will make some person/family a loving, devoted sidekick. Could that be you?  If so, please fill out an adoption application right away and schedule a meet and greet.  I have a feeling we’re destined to be together! I have been neutered and microchipped and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325.00. For more information or if you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption survey at carenorthshore.org/dog-adoption-survey Love & licks,OrielMarch 26, 2024, 7:40 pm

LAILA Available for Local Foster only FAST FACTSFemale, Bull Terrier, 30 pounds, 1 year oldSweet, Loving, Cuddly, Playful, HappyHigh EnergyPeople FriendlySelectively Dog FriendlyPotty TrainedCrate Trained Greetings from Layla the Lovebug. My brother Oriel and I were surrendered to CARE by our previous owners. Being left at the shelter was a traumatic experience, but I’ve settled into my new surroundings and have wiggled my way into the hearts of the staff and volunteers. They tell me I’m an eternal puppy who makes friends with everyone (a bit hesitant with certain men) and never runs out of energy. I crave attention and affection, especially pets on my head, chin, and neck. I like being as close as possible to people and am at my calmest when being shown love. Walks—I call them “sniffs”—are another favorite activity. My walking style is erratic, as I like to move from side-to-side to make sure I don’t miss anything. So I’ll definitely need you to work with me on my leash manners. I’m always up for a game of chase the ball or squeaky and am really good about returning my toys and dropping them at your feet—anything to keep you playing with me. I don’t seem to have had any obedience training and am just starting to learn some basic commands. But please keep teaching me, because I’m very treat-motivated and will work for rewards. I’m potty trained and tolerate my crate, although I do bark when left alone.  So…are you looking for a loving shadow who will keep you company through thick and thin and make you smile even when you’re feeling down? Then your search is over. Please fill out an adoption application right away and come and meet me. I’ll be waiting for you! I have been spayed and microchipped and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325.00. Story
Meet Indiana, a one-year-old male Shepherd mix with striking features and a charming personality. With his big, stand-up ears and handsome appearance, he is sure to catch the attention of anyone who crosses his path. Weighing in at a friendly 50 pounds, Indiana is the perfect size for those seeking a medium-sized canine companion. Favorite Things: Morning belly rubs! Long sniffy walks He loves stuffed toys and bones equally He really enjoys stuffing himself in a tiny dog bed Treats! Lots of them and all of them! He's not picky He loves to give hugs Snuffle mats and puzzle toys Car rides Snuggling on the couch Cues: Sit Down Stay (working on this) Leave it Come (we have been working on this and he's doing really well) Muzzle training Potty trained Loose leash walking How have I been doing in foster? "He has been an absolute joy to foster. He's such a good boy and someone would be so lucky to have him. We have been working on his socialization and he's doing very well. He's extremely intelligent and eager to learn new things. He loves it when his small foster brothers chase him around! " Although Indiana displays guarding tendencies towards other dogs, it's essential to emphasize that he does not exhibit guarding behavior towards people. He is affectionate and loving with his human companions and eagerly seeks their company. Indiana's devotion and loyalty make him an excellent choice for individuals or families seeking a companion who will provide unwavering love and companionship. Considering Indiana's specific needs and history, it's recommended that he be placed in a home without young children. To ensure safety and minimize any potential triggers for guarding behavior, a home with children aged 12 and above would be the most suitable match for Indiana. Older children who can understand and respect his boundaries will create an environment where he can thrive and feel secure. Indiana's future home should also provide outlets for his physical and mental stimulation. Regular exercise, interactive toys, and engaging activities will help channel his energy and ensure his overall well-being. Indiana is an all-star dog, and his adoption appointment includes a discussion with the training team, as well as a few enrichment goodies to help get you both off to a good start. To learn more about Indiana or to schedule an appointment to meet him, please email info@ahconnects.org (including your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to assist you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
