Dog Name: Dozer Age: 7 months Gender: neutered male Breed: Miniature Bull Terrier Weight: #35 Crate trained: yes Potty trained: yes Dog friendly: yes Cat friendly: unknown Kid friendly: 12+ Vaccinated: Yes Spayed/Neutered: Yes Heartworm: Negative Microchipped: Yes Energy level: high Location: Fostered in Medinah, Illinois. No out of state applicants, please. -Little dog, big personality. Dozer is aptly named in that he will bulldoze right through you while playing. 3 legs does not hold this little dude back…hardwood steps are another story. -Dozer is potty trained and has had no accidents even while he was at our vet! He is very comfortable in his crate and typically only vocalizes in it if he has to go to the bathroom or when you first come in the door. He is a very rambunctious puppy and still working on appropriate chewing habits and mouthiness. On the plus side, he is very food motivated (who isn’t?) and tries his best with his training. Typical characteristic of the breed, he has a very much “what’s in it for me” personality and is stubborn to boot, but with the right motivation will be a very successful pup! -Dozer would do best in a home that will be dedicated to furthering his training and committed to keeping him mentally enriched. If you’re interested in meeting Dozer please fill out an application at the link below. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DHDN/Dog

Legend - HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS ADOPTION SPECIAL $100 Legend is a 2 year old, 48.5 pound, altered, male, Bully mix that came to us as a stray. He was found running loose on a golf course, and he had lots of fun evading animal control. When Legend first came in, he was very stressed being in his kennel. After he had some time to decompress, he started feeling much better. Legend is a happy guy that loves cuddles, hugs, and people. When he first gets out of his kennel, his main priority is to be near you. Once he’s had time to play, he calms down quickly and does his own thing. He enjoys being by his people and chewing his toys. Legend has been completely vetted, neutered and utd on all shots, hw neg. His adoption fee is $100. When you eat your Thanksgiving turkey- will you think of me?? I will be right next to you trying to get it... NOW will you think of me?? LOL, ok, I kid.... I do love turkey though :) I am Wishbone, and I am a bull terrier/beagle mixed boy with a story to tell! I am so smart like a bull terrier- somewhat stubborn, like a bull terrier, but I follow my NOSE like a beagle! I am super cute, only about 40# and I am pretty active. I love to have a hard playing buddy, no small animals (like kitties) as I have a prey drive- like a bull terrier.. you see where I am going with this, right?? I would love have an active family, kids older than grade school as I love a moving target and smaller ones don't quite understand that. I am a love bug, and once tired out I am the bestest cuddler! So, what are you waiting for? Look me up, take me on adventures when you apply to adopt me! ADOPT, DON'T SHOP!!!! MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Chucho, a 2-year-old pocket pittie (plus mystery breed?) with an extra-curly tail, a mastery of lounging on the sofa, and a shameless quest for snacks and snuggles. He's eager to please and once he feels safe and familiar with someone he'll be your dedicated sidekick. He loves rewards (of the food or praise variety), making it a breeze to teach him commands and your expectations. He likes to be mentally engaged as much as he likes to be physically engaged, but also enjoys hanging out in the sun, in front of the tv, or looking out a window. He thrives with a slightly older, well-balanced dog sibling in his house, respects cats, and excels at the role of little brother. He plays well with dog friends of all sizes and ages at daycare. Chucho is a quick learner but he's also a determined student. This helps him build strong bonds with the people in his life. He gets a little nervous in loud environments or unfamiliar settings but finds comfort in his human and animal friends. He has some leash/barrier reactivity, but his foster family has noticed huge improvements in his self-control and emotional regulation through patient guidance and consistency. He's a very empathetic dog with a huge heart and he picks up on the vibes of the people and animals in his home. Positive reinforcement and structure are the name of the game for Chucho! His perfect forever home would be one with at least one active human who likes to spend quality time working/playing with Chucho, and ideally another dog sibling for company and partner-in-crime-time. Socializing is important for Chucho, so a forever home that's willing to put him in daycare once or twice a week or have regular playtime with trusted, familiar dogs will make him a super happy boy. He's also VERY good-looking, so his future family must be comfortable getting constant compliments about how handsome he is and be prepared to spend hours adoring his adorable, jowly face.

Story
Alpine is sure a unique-looking young boy; he is thought to possibly be a mix of Jack Russell, Rat Terrier, Bull Terrier?? However he’s on the larger size, for being a Jack Russel or Rat Terrier mix!! We believe that Alpine’s full, adult weight will be around 50 lbs. It is most important to note that we do not know just how big Alpine will become as an adult…his new family must be willing to accept him, no matter what his adult size! Alpine’s estimated date of birth is June 5th 2023. He’s a typical puppy, very energetic and playful. He likes to jump and can sometimes forget himself and be a little too rough with other dogs. But….…he is young and needs to learn boundaries and manners in order to evolve into a wonder family member with a forever family he so deserves.. Alpine likes playing with other dogs; he’s great with dogs and would enjoy the companionship of another dog in the home. Most likely, a young or middle-aged adult dog would prefer his company more so than a senior dog. An ideal family for Alpine is one able to assimilate the enthusiasm and playfulness of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Alpine to be his best self! A secure fenced yard is required; another younger or middle-aged pup in the family could also be advantageous. Alpine is crate-trained and is working hard to improve his house manners (housebreaking). He is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. His neuter is included in his adoption fee. For information about adding this adorable boy to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Note that BAARK is located in Barrington and adopts primarily within the Northwestern Suburbs of Chicagoland.

Hey, There-my name is Watson but my nickname should be Mr. Playful. I LOVE everyone I meet. Person-dog-cat- whatever…I’m going to follow you around and ask for all the pets! My favorite activities include chasing a ball around the backyard and going for walks with my foster dad. I’m one of the friendliest dogs in the rescue so I always get invited to all their fun events. I’m not only a master on a leash but also do great on car rides & in my kennel. I may be playful but I know how to read a room and when to chill. We asked my foster dad for a list of things about me- he did a pretty good job! He loves to share your pillow at night (or try to take it all) He chases his tail like a tornado. Gives you little love sniffs to the face. Rolls over on top of you for belly rubs. Like to lay against your legs while napping. Peeks his head in the shower and wants to lick your wet legs. Follows you everywhere. At ALL TIMES. He gives good hugs. I can’t think of one reason that would make you not fill an application out for me unless you hate fun.

Story
**HUGH HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING!!** Hugh, our resident cool dude, is currently accepting applications for his forever home. This guy is an absolute gem, and we encourage anyone looking for a practically perfect dog to submit their application today! Hugh found his way to Pal's Place from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. His breed and past are unknown but we suspect he's a combination of many breeds, a true super mutt! Cur, Shepherd, Boxer, Lab, Shar-Pei, and more all possible ancestors in his lineage. His exact age is also a mystery; there's some mileage on him, as evidenced by his distinguished gray beard and a wiseness in his demeanor and eyes usually reserved for dogs that have been around for several years. At the same time, he is still playful and spry without being hyper or wild and maintains a bit of a mischievous twinkle in his eye. Our best estimate for age is somewhere between 7-9 years. Hugh is the kind of dog we think will fit in most households easily and will make a great companion for a family looking for a dog that is still active, playful, and fun-loving but one that is past the puppy shenanigans, has some training, and also knows when and how to hang out and relax. An added bonus to his stellar personality is his size; just under 50 pounds; he's a medium-sized pooch, ideal for urban dwellings. Hugh is a confident, friendly dog who loves people and greets everyone with a smile on his face and abundant tail wags. He's got great house manners as well. Quiet, housebroken, crate-trained, not destructive or anxious when alone, walks nicely on leash, friendly with other dogs. What more could you possibly want in a dog?! You've probably noticed the cloudiness in his eyes and may be thinking of cataracts, but most clouding is scarring from ulcers left untreated until Hugh found his way to us. A veterinary ophthalmologist in Chicago diagnosed Hugh with indolent ulcers in both eyes, and they suspected he had been dealing with them for many months without treatment, causing some damage and scarring to the lenses of his eyes. He had a dremel debridement procedure when he first came to the rescue and completed a month-long course of eye medications to facilitate the healing of the ulcers. The ophthalmologist also noted nuclear sclerosis in both eyes, which is clouding or haziness often seen in the eyes of middle-aged to senior dogs resulting from the normal aging process of the eye. The doctor also noted a small insipient cataract in his right eye in the lower corner. Despite these three different diagnoses, the doctor was confident that his vision had not been impacted in a significant way and did not expect any progression to cause a significant loss of vision later in life. Hugh's behavior also shows no signs of vision impairment, but despite the ulcers now being healed, the scars will remain, and his eyes will always appear very cloudy. Hugh was recently neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative) and microchipped. With his clean bill of health, he's ready for his next chapter: a forever home of his own! Hugh's adoption fee to the rescue is $375. He is in a foster home on Chicago's north side and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly, and if it has been 48 hours without a reply, please follow up with an email to ensure your application was received. • Hugh's adoption fee is $375. This fee covers any necessary medical care to prepare him for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on adoption fees and donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation also helps save other dogs like Hugh from euthanasia. • Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application and put the dog's name in the subject line. Please check your spam/junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up there! We are a volunteer-run organization and do our best to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours. • All of our dogs are in foster homes and can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an approved application has been received. To receive more info, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. Unfortunately, we cannot hold our adoptable dogs for any reason. Please do not apply until you are ready to adopt.

Story
Nike is a 50-pound, seven-month-old, happy, fun, snuggly and playful male Bulldog/Terrier-mix puppy looking for a loving guardian. Nike is such a good-natured dog and has no idea that he’s differently-abled. His legs are extremely bowed with a front limb deformity. That doesn’t stop him from chasing balls and rough-housing with dog friends. Because he can injure himself on concrete, he is best playing in a soft grassy yard. His walks on sidewalks have so far been limited. This guy is as sweet as they come. He just loves people of all ages, and other dogs. We think he’ll be about 60 pounds full-grown. He is looking for a very special family who will take him into their heart and home. He is smart, loving and very eager to please. He might enjoy cats, more than they enjoy him. Nike is housebroken when taken out regularly, crate-trained, and learning his commands. He is very food focused and just loves belly rubs. He’s currently doing physical therapy and massage in Chicago. He is not a candidate for surgery. But, he may at times wear booties and braces to protect and guide his legs into the right position. Nike is otherwise very healthy, vaccinated for rabies, distemper and bordetella, microchipped, fecal-tested and de-wormed. He will be neutered in the near future. His adoption fee of $500 benefits K9EI RESCUE. To meet and possibly adopt Nike, please fill out an adoption application at https://k9ei.dog/foster-adopt/ and follow up to meet him by e-mailing info@k9ei.dog Nike is being fostered in Chicago, and must be adopted within 60 miles of Plainfield, Illinois. Currently, his therapy & orthopedic caregivers are located in Chicago.
