Story
Sway is one resilient girl who has overcome so much and is now looking for a home to kick back and relax in. She deserves it! She was found as a stray in Florida, where she was quickly treated for a broken back leg. Once she recovered thanks to a wonderful foster family, she made her way up to Massachusetts. It took her a few days to warm up, and her true personality and medical issues (unfortunately) began to unfold. We believe she has IBD and possible gut motility issues, and is currently on a special hypoallergenic diet and medications. She was experiencing a lot of regurgitation episodes, with occasional inappetence and lethargy. Thanks to the amazing Baypath community, we were able to get her testing and diagnostics, and she'll require lifelong care to manage her condition. In regards to her missing back leg, she is pretty mobile and can go up and down stairs (or take an elevator, she's a pro!) Despite her medical, her spirits have remained high. She is the sweetest girl who loves to cuddle up with her people. When she's super excited, she'll do the cutest zoomies and romp around. Sway also enjoys romping around with her canine friends too. She would be fine with or without a like minded dog friend in her home. Sway says no thank you to cats, they're too exciting! If you think you're the miracle home Sway's been looking for, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Story
We rescued Myla at 6 months old, she had a rough past and her previous owners were not very kind to her. She is now a little over 12 months old, potty trained, crate trained, basic command trained, spayed and up to date with all shots. Myla is high energy, lovable, sweet and affectionate to those she knows close or are recent visitors. She is hight energy, goofy and definitely has a personality that she owns deeply. She loves her chew bones and belly rubs are her favorite. She would thrive in a house with not many visitors, secluded yard where she can run in play, maybe even another dog to keep her company, someone with a routine, not a high trafficked area with people (city is bad) & no children. Myla does better around people she knows, and not so great around people she doesn’t know. She really loves other dogs/going to the dog park. She does great in long car rides and listens well off leash on trails. She never wants to leave your side.

Story
Meet Blitz! Blitz is a 5-year-old, 55 pound working dog. He's smart, food driven, and loves playing fetch. He sleeps through the night in his crate, is house trained, loves learning new tricks, and can be good with other dogs if they allow him to calmly greet them. Blitz would do best in an adult only home, with an owner who is active. He loves going on walks, runs, hikes and car rides. He can be wary of new people, and will need someone to continue to train him on confidence building. Blitz will walk in a heel when requested, he is a quick learner, super food motivated, and will LOVE his owners immensely. Update from foster Mom: With his people he is the BEST dog, and he's good with dogs if they aren't pushy. He's a quick learner, a cuddle bug, house trained, muzzle trained, e-collar trained. He LOVES hiking with me in the woods, has amazing recall, and loves playing fetch. I believe he would be the best dog on a farm, where he isn't forced to interact with strangers. I strongly believe that when he is off leash, he will choose to avoid strangers as opposed to confronting them. So why has this amazing already trained pup been with us so long? He doesn't do too well with strangers. We've gotten people interested, but seemingly they seem to ignore his "wary of new people" bit in his bio, and those who have applied want a friendly dog who is ok with meeting everyone. Are you someone who will allow Blitz to become comfortable with strangers slowly? Maybe an active outdoorsy introvert? Or okay with leaving your pup at home while you go out to be extroverted? Blitz is AMAZING. he just needs someone who understand he isn't too fond of people until he feels safe with them. This means not allowing others to approach him on walks and when out and about. NO trips to Home Depot or TJ Maxx for this guy. He only needs outings with his new parents! P.S. This means he will take time to warm up to you too! -- If you are interested in finding out more about Blitz, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://bit.ly/2JnZqK5 Blitz is being fostered in Worcester. The adoption fee is $250. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet happy, playful and goofy Marshmallow! This 46 lb. bulldog boy is super affectionate, loves to meet people, play with toys and go on adventures. Marshmallow has been down a rough road but has kept up an amazing, silly personality. Marshmallow's owner was unable to care for him, and he arrived at WARL with a significant skin infection that was painful and required lots of veterinary care, sutures, and daily treatments. It was a great day for staff and volunteers when his fur started growing back and he was clearly recovering. Words can't really describe how exceptional his resilient and kind heart shines through. Marshmallow was a gem throughout his skin care routine, and actually looked forward to being cleaned daily with medical wipes, because he knew there were some nice treats waiting for him after each step. Marshmallow is admittedly working on a humping issue, so he may be able to live with another dog, but they would have to meet first as he comes on a bit strong! Same with kids, he needs just the right energy mix. An important thing to know about this pup is that he will require several veterinary visits per year to keep current on his prescribed allergy medication. English Bulldogs have complex medical needs, and his new home has to be able to ensure that he will be able to get the continued care that he needs. That is super important for him to continue, and his new home must be able to support him with this care. Marshmallow will pay it back with lots of affection, and plenty of happy snorting bulldog noises! If you think Marshmallow would be a good fit for your home, please head to our actual website worcesterarl.org and click on his picture to fill out the Dog Adoption Inquiry Form listed below to request a meet with him. That is the first step! All adoptions are by appointment, thank you.
