Story
Meet Blitz! Blitz is a 7-year-old, 55 pound working dog. He's smart, food driven, and loves playing fetch. He sleeps through the night in his crate, is house trained, loves learning new tricks, and can be good with other dogs if they allow him to calmly greet them. Blitz would do best in an adult only home, with an owner who is active. He loves going on walks, runs, hikes and car rides. He can be wary of new people, and will need someone to continue to train him on confidence building. Blitz will walk in a heel when requested, he is a quick learner, super food motivated, and will LOVE his owners immensely. Update from foster Mom: With his people, he is the BEST dog, and he's good with dogs if they aren't pushy. He's a quick learner, a cuddle bug, and house-trained. He LOVES hiking with me in the woods, has an amazing recall, and loves playing fetch. I believe he would be the best dog on a farm, where he isn't forced to interact with strangers. I strongly believe that when he is off leash, he will choose to avoid strangers as opposed to confronting them. So why has this amazing already trained pup been with us so long? He doesn't do too well with strangers. We've gotten people interested, but seemingly they seem to ignore his "wary of new people" bit in his bio, and those who have applied want a friendly dog who is ok with meeting everyone. Are you someone who will allow Blitz to become comfortable with strangers slowly? Maybe an active outdoorsy introvert? Or okay with leaving your pup at home while you go out to be extroverted? Blitz is AMAZING. He just needs someone who understands he isn't too fond of people until he feels safe with them. This means not allowing others to approach him on walks and when out and about. No trips to Home Depot or TJ Maxx for this guy. He only needs outings with his new parents! P.S. This means he will take time to warm up to you too! If you are interested in finding out more about Blitz, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO-A-67 Blitz is being fostered in Grafton. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
I’m looking for a very specific home for my dog, Titan—a 4-year-old boxer/bullmastiff mix (about 65 lbs). Titan is incredibly loyal, affectionate, and forms strong bonds with his person. Once he trusts you, he is calm, loving, and wants to stay close. He does best in a structured environment with clear boundaries and consistency. He is not a dog for everyone. Titan is wary of strangers and needs slow, controlled introductions to new people. He is most comfortable in a low-traffic home without frequent visitors. There was a past incident where he bit a family member’s hand during a high-stress situation when multiple people were around him and he was being handled near his face. The injury required medical attention but was not severe, and there has not been a pattern of repeated incidents. With proper structure and awareness of his boundaries, he has been manageable and stable. Titan would do best in:
• An adult-only home (no children)
• A low-traffic environment
• Someone experience

Story
Meet Millie – Adventure Buddy, Blanket Burrito, and Professional Snuggler! After a long journey through foster care and overcoming some medical challenges, Millie is more than ready to find the forever family she's been waiting for. This sweet girl has blossomed into the perfect combination of outdoor adventurer and couch companion. Millie loves making the most of every day. Whether she's hiking miles of scenic trails, playing fetch in the yard, joining the family for errands, or riding shotgun on a car adventure, she's always eager to be part of the action. She recently conquered a 6.2-mile hike at Wachusett Mountain like a champ and politely shared the trail with people, children, and dogs alike. When the adventures are over, Millie transforms into a world-class snuggler. She loves curling up on the couch, soaking up belly rubs, handing out gentle kisses, and settling in with her favorite chew toy. One of her most adorable quirks? She loves blankets and will happily tuck herself completely underneath one for a cozy nap. Sometimes she even perches on the back of the couch like a cat! Millie is fully house-trained, smart as can be, and eager to learn. She already knows sit, down, paw, and fetch, and she's working on adding even more tricks to her resume. Since she's highly food motivated, training is both fun and rewarding for her. She gets along well with other dogs and could also live with dog-savvy cats Like many dogs who have been through a lot, Millie has a few things her future family should know. Some unfamiliar men can make her nervous at first, but patience, treats, and positive introductions help her warm up quickly. She also takes her freedom very seriously—if she gets loose, she'll happily turn it into a neighborhood adventure! Because of this, her family will need to be diligent about leashes, doors, and secure outdoor time. What makes Millie truly special is her joyful spirit. Despite the challenges she's faced, she wakes up every day ready for fun, affection, and whatever adventure comes next. She is ready to start the next chapter of her life. Could that chapter be with you?

Story
Meet Jill! 🌸 Jill is a sweet, affectionate girl with a constantly wagging tail and a heart full of love. She thrives on companionship and enjoys being close to her people, whether she's relaxing on the couch, napping after a walk, or greeting you in the morning with one of her favorite squeaky toys. Her adorable morning routine includes happy circles, tail wags, and plenty of requests for pets and attention. Jill is a low-energy dog who enjoys a relaxed lifestyle. She loves short daily walks, naps throughout the day, and spending time with her family. One of Jill's favorite activities is going for car rides. Just mentioning a ride gets her excited. Jill is a smart girl who knows several commands, including sit, give paw (both paws!), and lay down. Because she is highly food motivated, treats are a great way to continue building her skills and confidence. Jill would do best with an adopter who understands that she can be selective around other dogs. She has made great progress with positive reinforcement training and treats, and would thrive with an adopter who can support her ongoing training. If you're looking for a gentle, devoted dog who will greet you every day with a wagging tail and a happy heart, Jill may be the perfect match for you. 🌸

I'm in foster care! **If you're interested in meeting Zoey, please email info.pawfectlife@gmail.com** Zoey **Currently Available for Adoption!** Good with Kids and Dogs! Meet Zoey! 7 yrs../68 lb./Female/Boxer Mix Name: Zoey Age: 7 years Weight: 68 lbs Breed: Boxer Mix Status: Loyal sweetheart seeking her happily-ever-after! About Me: Hi, I'm Zoey. For the last seven years, I've been exactly what every Boxer hopes to be—a beloved family dog. I had my person, my home, and a life filled with love. Unfortunately, my dad became seriously ill and could no longer care for me, so now I'm looking for a new family to love. The good news? I come with years of experience being an excellent companion. I'm sweet, affectionate, and happiest when I'm with my people. If you're familiar with Boxers, you already know we're experts at making ourselves part of everything you're doing. Watching TV? I'll join you. Working around the house? I'll supervise. Relaxing on the couch? Scoot over, friend. I'm currently being fostered with another dog and doing wonderfully. I enjoy companionship, settle in nicely, and have proven that my heart is still wide open despite all the changes in my life. At 7 years old, I've mastered the important things—loving my people, enjoying the simple moments, and appreciating a comfy spot to relax. What I'm looking for now is a family who will give me the same love and security I've always known. Because life doesn't always go according to plan, but every good dog deserves a family who will love them through the next chapter. Best Qualities: • Sweet, affectionate, and people-focused • Loyal companion who loves being part of the family • Past the puppy stage but still active and fun • Ready to devote my whole heart to my people My Ideal Match: • Someone looking for a loyal best friend • Boxer lovers (you know who you are!) • A family who understands that love only grows with age • A home where I'll be cherished as a true family member Deal Breakers: • Looking for forever this time around • I expect to be included in family activities • Love, companionship, and couch time are non-negotiable • Temporary relationships need not apply Fun Fact: I've spent my whole life perfecting the art of being someone's best friend.

HELP US FIND RYLO HIS PERFECT HOME 🐾 This is not an easy decision for his family, but they are looking to find the right home for Rylo before considering a shelter or rescue. Rylo is a handsome pit bull who will be 3 years old in July and is up to date on all vaccinations. He is incredibly loving, affectionate, and loyal to his people. He loves attention, enjoys being close to those he trusts, and has a big heart. Rylo does have some special needs that require the right owner. He struggles with anxiety, can be fearful of loud noises and certain objects, and is reactive around other dogs. Because of this, he would do best with someone who has experience with dogs or is willing to invest the time, patience, and training he needs to thrive. He also has some dietary sensitivities and would benefit from a home with plenty of space and a calm environment. Rylo isn’t being rehomed because he isn’t loved, quite the opposite. His family wants to make sure he has the best rest of his time!

Story
Meet Kane! He is the sweetest boy you will ever meet. Kane is generally a laid-back fellow who loves to lounge around, but when he gets happy, his whole body wiggles—which earned him the nickname "Wiggle Butt." He loves people and gets along beautifully with other dogs. We originally took this sweet boy in to keep him out of a shelter when his previous owner could no longer care for him in their apartment. He absolutely loves his food, head scratches, and belly rubs. Unfortunately, our schedules have become incredibly busy, and we simply can't give Kane the time and attention he needs. Because he is a big boy, his ideal home would have a house with a backyard where he has plenty of room to safely run and play. Kane is wonderful with other dogs and would make a fantastic addition to the right family. He deserves all the love, kisses, and attention in the world, so please only apply if you can give him the amazing life he is so deserving of.

Story
At first sight, you are sure to be smitten with this super sweet bulldog mix. His body is too cute for words! Virgil is about 5-years-old and weighs 53 pounds. He loves to get belly rubs, and show off his butt wiggle. He has been waiting awhile for his person and would love nothing better than to start his new life with you. Virgil has the traits of an American Bulldog, but somehow acts more like a water dog. He has an incredible love for water, especially when he can swim out to retrieve a thrown tennis ball or stick. It’s one game he never tires of. We like to say he’s a natural mer-man ‘wading’ for his forever family! Virgil is rather low maintenance. He is fulfilled by outdoor time, observing nature, and simply being with his people. He also enjoys walks and is good on the leash, though playing in water really makes his day. He has a funny way of turning meal time into fun time by batting around his Rolly Kong for kibble. Although he likes activity, he also has a lovely mellow side and enjoys quiet time. Among his many qualities, he’s also a dapper dude. Would you believe he loves being pampered and brushed? Virgil is very food-motivated and enjoys pleasing you. Since he is wary of strangers, his love of treats comes in very handy when introducing him to new people. If someone new approaches with a treat and lets him make the first move, voila! He’s a happy boy who will sit, lay down, or shake hands with you for more treats. Virgil has a sad background, but with the resilience of a champ he overcame abandonment. As a stray, he landed in a shelter with no ID tag, no microchip, very fearful, and left unclaimed. Because the staff gave him time and tender loving care, he started coming out of his shell. Soon after, Virgil attended a basic obedience class and then transitioned to a foster home where he is learning what a good, safe home is all about. Virgil now has a bouncy puppy-like strut and each day more and more of his personality comes through! He works with his foster mother daily. She reinforces all he learned in training and gives him new challenges as well. Virgil needs an adopter to continue providing direction and confidence-building activities. We know Virgil will thrive in a stable forever home with an experienced person or family who will help him recognize how special he really is. In this type of environment, he is such an easy dog. He just needs time to know things are A-OK so he won’t be fearful and anxious. With your gentle time and patience, you will earn his trust. Fortunately, Virgil provides all the companionship you’ll ever need. He doesn’t do well with other dogs, or cats, but he would be ok with older kids with dog experience. Since he alerts you to noise, he is not good for apartment or condo/townhouse living or tight neighborhoods. Ideal perks are a fenced yard and water access! Please complete an adoption application at https://www.brokentailrescue.org/adopt/ For serious inquiries, email maryloumaria@yahoo.com Thank you! Virgil is being fostered in Gloucester, MA.
