I'M LOCATED IN OH
From his foster:
He is the sweetest, has a wonderful temperament, always so happy to see us, loves to cuddle, likes to play tug with our dog Luna, crate trained, food obsessed, walks nicely on a leash. He has been friendly with all of our neighbors. I would say he prefers women and is cautious around men until he knows they are okay. Not fearful, just cautious until he feels safe.
He is good with other dogs, good with our cats, hasn't shown any prey drive towards squirrels or other critters in the yard. We have 3 cats- he either ignores them, wants to sniff them, or occasionally play bows to the one that's very social. Now that he's very familiar with them he mostly ignores them. He loves to play with our other bully Luna. He's very bouncy when he first goes outside so we wait for him to get his zoomies out before we let our senior dog out. He seems to get that Alfie is old now and enjoys walking through the yard with him and finding sticks together.
He is crated at night. He definitely needs a friend- he doesn't like to be alone. He sleeps in his crate next to Luna in her crate. I am usually not gone for more than 5 hours per day for work. During the day I will put him in our office by himself, but he is not crated. I would let him stay out with Luna, but she can be temperamental, so I keep everyone separated when I'm not home just to be safe. Timmy loves food and treats and snacks but has not shown any guarding behaviors. There have been times when I have removed a bowl that he is eating from and he is very tolerant even though he reallllly wants it! He just tries to speed eat as much as he can before it's out of reach. I give all of the dogs treats together and he does not show any possessiveness and does not fight over food or toys (or anything). Loves a stuffed Kong and will shred stuffies. I have a 7-year-old son and Timmy will occasionally chew up a toy that has been left out- random action figures or crayons and stuff. Otherwise, he is not destructive and loves his bed (has never chewed that even though it's stuffy-like). He is also good outside- no digging or escape attempts. He likes to chase tennis balls and he and Luna will steal the soccer ball from my son, which he finds hilarious.
He occasionally will try to bite his tail. Sometimes it's while he's sitting, sometimes he will chase his tail while doing it. I would not call this the typical bully type "spinning" as he doesn't zone out while he's doing it and is easily redirected. Usually, I will just pet him to get him to relax and stop, or he is easily redirected by switching activities- taking him outside, going for a walk, having him sit for treats, etc.
Timmy is great with my son and loves to run around the yard with him and his friends!
He is timid at first and seems to gain security and confidence through staying close to me or Luna. He is a Velcro boy for sure. He is a people pleaser and thrives on praise and treats and just wants to be loved. He knows a handful of commands and is very good at "sit" and "stay"! Overall, he is a sweet, darling boy who has probably not had a great life up until now. He loves to snuggle up while we are watching tv and will take a nap on top of you if you lay down. His favorite spot is right under your arm like he's hugging you. He is a wonderful boy and has been a joy to care for.
