🐾 Meet Chloe Looking for a work-from-home supervisor? Chloe would like to discuss your lap availability. ❤️ At 8 years old, Chloe has perfected the art of companionship. She's a huge cuddler who loves settling into her foster's lap while work gets done—which means your productivity may occasionally suffer, but workplace morale should improve considerably. Chloe is affectionate, mellow, and past the stage of believing your curtains were installed for recreational climbing. She still enjoys playing and will occasionally chase a toy, but she's equally happy settling in for some quality time with her person. And then there's food. Chloe has only two teeth. Chloe does not care. 😹 Wet food, dry food, treats—this girl remains an enthusiastic participant in the culinary arts. Apparently nobody told Chloe that two teeth were supposed to slow her down. She's also beautifully reliable about her litter box and uses a scratching post appropriately, giving her some of the wonderful advantages that come with adopting a grown-up cat whose household habits are already established. Chloe has lived successfully around both cats and dogs. She's not necessarily looking for an animal best friend and is perfectly comfortable establishing her boundaries, but she can coexist with other pets. She's also done well with a 9-year-old child. Chloe does have some allergies that require a particular diet and a different approach to flea prevention. Her routine is manageable; she'll simply need a family willing to continue following the recommendations that keep her comfortable and feeling her best. What you're getting in return is pretty terrific: a mature, affectionate lap cat with an established personality, excellent household manners, a healthy appreciation for snacks, and absolutely no intention of letting a minor dental shortage interfere with enjoying life. 🐾 Meet Jake Jake apparently never received the memo that cats are supposed to be aloof. ❤️ This handsome guy is a people person in a cat's body. Jake is outgoing, playful, social, and genuinely interested in the humans around him. He enjoys attention, likes meeting people, and has the kind of friendly personality that makes it easy to understand why the people who know him describe him as such a great boy. What Jake needs now isn't more friends. It's the right environment. We've learned that although Jake can interact with other cats, living around them doesn't appear to be what makes him happiest. In fact, we believe the presence of other cats may contribute to one of the biggest challenges Jake has experienced: urine spraying. Jake has been evaluated by veterinarians multiple times, and no underlying medical cause for the spraying has been found. He was prescribed medication to help manage the behavior, and staff observed improvement when he was taking it consistently. More recently, Jake has become reluctant to take his medication, which has made keeping him on that routine difficult. There's another encouraging piece of Jake's history: he reportedly did better while living in foster care without other cats. Taken together, that tells us quite a bit about the kind of home we'd like to find for him. Jake's ideal home would be calm and predictable, with no other cats and people willing to work with their veterinarian on successfully maintaining his medication routine. Because his spraying has persisted, his adopter should be prepared for the possibility that urine marking may continue. We can't promise that moving into the right home will eliminate it. But we'd really like to give Jake the opportunity to find out. Because when you look beyond that one challenging behavior, there's an awfully lovable cat standing there. Jake likes people. He's playful and engaging. He enjoys attention. He uses scratching posts appropriately. And while a busy multi-cat environment may not bring out his best, a quieter home where he doesn't have to share his territory could give him the kind of life that suits him much better. Jake isn't looking for someone to "fix" him.
