The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Story
Welcome Boscoe to CCPAL Rescue. Boscoe is a 2-year-old Cairn Terrier mix with maybe Schnauzer. He is a lower energy and a little shy. His teeth are white and clean as his adult teeth haven’t been in too long. He is good on a leash and bigger than the other two at 15 pounds. He has nice long legs so he would be a great walking companion. He is very content being beside someone and doesn’t have to be in your lap. He came from a homeless person that had about 6 dogs. The homeless person had rescued all as strays. A good Samaritan stepped up to help and called CCPAL Rescue. CCPAL took in all the homeless person’s dogs except one she wanted to keep. We will be vaccinating them and spaying them to get them ready for their forever home. This boy is not a shedding dog and is very very affectionate. He would probably look Schnauzer if he had the cut. His coat is a little course and not as soft as the schnauzer coat. He would be fine around kids but I think her best home would be with a home that someone wants a lap dog and a quieter home. He would be a great one or two person dog. He will be great company and will not require too much exercise. A small condo type yard would work for him. He is good in a crate and with other dogs. He is more vocal than his sister Merry. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transportation fee is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Tinkerbell is ready for the good life! This senior terrier is 14-15 years old and weighs just under 18 pounds. In October, she was left tied up outside an apartment complex in Providence. When we brought Tinkerbell to our rescue, she was scruffy, anxious, and suffering from a painful cherry eye and ear infection. Although presumably from a home, Tinkerbell seemed quite nervous around people. She was aloof and stayed on the perimeter, watching the action, but seldom participating. However, over the last several weeks, we've seen a notable change in her personality. Part of that is due to us addressing her medical needs, and part of it is a result of her learning to trust us. Tinkerbell is an independent senior. She enjoys having her own space and spends a lot of her time lounging in the various pens at the rescue, either sleeping or calmly observing. She isn't overly affectionate but is beginning to enjoy gentle pets and will even lean in for ear rubs. We imagine she'll only grow more confident and comfortable once she's settled in a home. She doesn't play with the other dogs, but she is fine with all of them. She just prefers to keep to herself. Tinkerbell had surgery to correct her cherry eye and had three teeth extracted during a dental. She was also given medication for an ear infection and antibiotics for her skin. Tinkerbell is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and recently had full blood work. She also has a few small lipomas on her chest and a small bump on her vulva. We would love to find an adopter who will allow Tinkerbell to come around in her own time and appreciates her independent nature. If you're interested in adopting Tinkerbell, please submit an application at: https://www.vintagepetrescue.org/adopt

Story
If you are looking for the most snuggly, adorable, unbelievably sweet, wonderful scruffy little muppet, you’ll no doubt fall in love with Woody! This little guy came into the pound and no one could believe how wonderfully adorable this boy is!! The perfect scruff, the most amazing little kisses and snuggles, it wasn’t a day before a fantastic foster home scooped this little angel up to care for until he finds his dream home! Woody is about 2 years old, and weighs a perfectly petite 12 lbs! He immediately began having all of his medical work done! He’s now current on vaccines, deworming, he’s heartworm tested negative, he’s current on preventative, microchipped and now neutered! He’s been given a clean bill of health and this boy is thriving!! Now he just needs to find love! In his foster home he immediately settled in with ease. He’s been reliably friendly and loving in all situations, and welcomes relationships with everyone he meets! He’s living with a cat now whom he is fantastic with! He’s also living with other dogs and he just loves to play and snuggle with them. He’s got medium energy and is a great balance of ready to join you when you’re on the go anywhere, but he’s also ready to spend the night snuggled in your yard watching movies. He’s fantastic in the car, great in walks, and loves being your copilot on all of life’s adventures! He’s excellent with house training and reliably going potty outside or pee pads, whichever you’d prefer! He’s not a vocal guy, just a tender, sweet, silly, easy going little fellow! He absolutely loves toys and has so much fun playing with little toys and balls, and is happy to share with his doggy friends! He’s such a friendly guy. He’s purely a social butterfly with a fantastic temperament, and his best trait is really that he’s the world’s best snuggler!!! If this absolutely adorable, perfectly scruffy, wonderful boy is your dream pup, please visit www.greatdivideanimalrescue.org and submit an application for adoption today!!
