Story
Meet Miles — a young, scruffy puppy currently estimated to be 3 months old and weighing around 10 pounds. We believe this little one may be a Cairn Terrier mix, but as with many rescue pups, their exact breed blend is unknown. What we can say for sure is that Miles is 100% deserving of a loving home. Miles is currently thriving and is beginning to explore the world through play, naps, mealtime routines, and gentle socialization. While he has that adorable, wiry, scruffy coat, his personality is incredibly lovable and chill for a pup his age. Like most puppies, life right now revolves around eating, sleeping, learning, and building bonds with people. Every day brings a new experience, and with it, Miles is developing the foundation for becoming a confident and well-adjusted adult dog. You can see his sweet personality in action here: https://youtu.be/UpFE-bk0Z5s We understand that bringing a puppy home is a big decision, and we want to set both you and Miles up for success. Puppies require time, patience, and consistency. Miles will benefit from Crate Training & Structure, helping him feel secure in his own space, continuing to build his relaxed, teaching him important life skills like potty training, leash walking, and basic manners. It’s important to keep in mind that puppies may grow into active, intelligent dogs who thrive with regular mental and physical stimulation. Even a chill pup like Miles will need adopters who are prepared to meet those needs with training, play, and engagement—not just now, but through adulthood. If you’re ready to invest in the journey and build a lasting relationship with a sweet, scruffy best friend, Miles might be the perfect match. Story
Miss Fleur is a beautiful 2-year-old Cairn Terrier Mix who takes a little time to open-up, but once she trusts you, you’re in for life. She is a sensitive soul looking for a patient human to show her how wonderful the world can be. Watching her take those first brave steps and wiggle her tail for you is the most rewarding feeling in the world. She loves sitting on the couch next to her people and getting soft pets. She will be your quiet shadow as you move throughout your day. She sits very still during bath time and is quickly learning how to walk on a leash. She is very treat motivated and a great eater. She also comes with a solid record of zero potty accidents in her foster home. Miss Fleur sleeps through a long night and waits patiently for you to tell her it is time to start the day! She is able to run loose in the house while you’re away and will keep watch out your front window by sitting on whatever will get her the best view. She may be mistaken for a cat as sometimes she can be found standing in a windowsill or on a table if it affords her the best view while you are away from home but no worries she will keep your house safe until you return. She's been attending some training classes to get comfortable in settings outside the home and we'd love for her to be able to continue classes for her and her new companion.  Did we mention she loves to go for walks? Its her favorite past time!  Ideal Home: A quiet, low-traffic household (preferably adult-only or older kids) with someone who understands that good things take time. She would do well in a house or an apartment due to calm quiet nature. Having another confident dog to show her the ropes would be a huge plus but she would also be fine being the only dog. She is good with cats as she will completely ignore your feline companion. If you have a little extra patience to wait for her to open-up and a lot of love to give, Mrs. Fleur is your girl! Underdogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption fee is $380. She is being fostered in Vancouver, WA You MUST have an Underdogs Rock Rescue application on file to request a meet with an Underdog. An online Underdogs Rock adoption application can only be accessed at  https://underdogsrock.org/adopt-a-dog  . You must be available to meet an Underdog in their foster's location and dogs are not held for applicants or shipped outside of the Portland metro area. Story
Meet Tonka! Tonka is a 4-month-old Cairn Terrier/Blue Heeler mix weighing just 11 pounds, and he is packed full of personality, affection, and charm. This sweet boy loves nothing more than being close to his people. Whether he’s curled up in your lap, soaking up belly rubs, or following you from room to room, Tonka is happiest when he’s spending time with his family. Tonka is a very social puppy who enjoys meeting new people and taking part in everyday activities. His friendly, confident nature makes him an excellent candidate for public outings, whether that means visiting a pet-friendly store, enjoying an outdoor café, or joining you on family adventures. He loves attention and is always eager to make new friends. Like any young puppy, Tonka enjoys playtime and would especially love a canine companion around his size to romp and wrestle with. He has an energetic, playful side but also knows how to settle down and enjoy quiet cuddle time with his favorite humans. Tonka is already off to a great start with his training. He knows the command “sit” and is both kennel trained and potty trained. His eagerness to please and affectionate nature will make continued training enjoyable and rewarding. Tonka is currently being fostered in a loving home in Seguin, Texas. While he resides in Texas, he can be transported out of state to the right forever family after adoption. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and social companion who will fill your days with smiles, Tonka may be the perfect match for you! You can apply directly for Tonka by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-855 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org.
