Story
Meet Chocolate Chip 🍪✨ At around 5 months old and only about 9 pounds, Chocolate Chip is approximately two apples tall and fully convinced she is a 90-pound adventure dog. This scruffy little Chihuahua/terrier mix has absolutely NO idea she’s tiny, and honestly? We support the confidence. First of all, she is RIDICULOUSLY cute. Like unfairly cute. She has adorable scruffy blonde fur, tiny little legs, and giant ears that stick out like she personally studied under Dobby from Harry Potter. She trots around with this hilarious tiny confident strut like she’s late for an important business meeting nobody invited her to. And despite being itty bitty, Chocolate Chip is BRAVE. This girl met big dogs and immediately acted like she was one of them. No fear. No hesitation. Just tiny puppy confidence and the overwhelming desire to play with literally everyone she meets. Watch Chocolate Chip's video here! https://youtu.be/11uoBwaArAQ?si=--3kKAY1iend46Rw She absolutely LOVES other dogs and would have the best time with playful dog friends. Watching her bounce around trying to keep up with dogs four times her size is honestly one of the cutest things ever. She has a rough-and-tumble playful style and can be a little pushy in that classic overexcited puppy way, but she also has wonderful social skills and handled all of her dog introductions beautifully. Honestly, her entire personality is: “HELLO BEST FRIENDS!!!” immediately launches into play mode Chocolate Chip is also super affectionate and confident with people. She loves attention, doesn’t mind being picked up at all, and handles new environments like a tiny fearless explorer. Nothing really phased her during her assessment (loud noises, new dogs, new people, new places) she was basically ready to party the entire time. She’s also surprisingly great on leash for such a tiny baby and would absolutely love adventures, walks, patio hangs, road trips, hikes, or honestly just dramatically trotting around the neighborhood pretending she owns the place. And while she would LOVE a yard to zoom around in, an apartment would probably feel like a full luxury estate to this tiny little creature. She is an active puppy though, so continued exercise, structure, and training will be important as she grows up. Underneath all the tiny cuteness is still a smart energetic terrier baby who’s going to want things to do. She currently lives with other dogs and does wonderfully. She can also go home with dog-friendly pups who are okay with a playful little tornado. As for cats, Chocolate Chip actually did really well! She was very excited and gave the kitty kisses and puppy play signals, so calm dog-savvy cats or slow introductions would be best while she continues learning boundaries. She hasn’t officially been around kids yet, but she’s still a young puppy who seems very adaptable, and we can absolutely kid-test her for interested adopters. Honestly, Chocolate Chip feels like somebody shrunk down a giant goofy adventure dog into a tiny scruffy body. She’s playful, snuggly, hilarious, social, confident, and impossible not to adore.
