Story
Meet our sweet girl, Dusty! She is a lovable and affectionate pup who craves attention and loves to be pampered. Despite her petite size, she has a big personality and is sure to capture your heart. This adorable dog is currently seeking a foster home where she can spend her days relaxing and receiving all the love and attention she deserves. Dusty has a heart condition that requires ongoing care and monitoring. But with the right care and attention, she can still live a happy and fulfilling life.Reason for Foster: HW+ / Heart Murmur Foster Time Frame: 4+ weeks Foster Care Plan: Dusty is currently undergoing treatment for Heartworm and heart murmur. Her care entails short walks and limit play time or anything that will raise her heart rate too high this very important due to her heart murmur to keep her calm as possible. A calm environment where her can take it is best. She will go home with medication along with a medical consult and rechecks with the medical team I am available through our Foster to Adopt program. This program helps pets awaiting or under medical treatment be placed in with prospective adopters before they are made available for adoption. If interested in fostering through our Foster to Adopt program, sign up to be a foster online and express your interest in Dusty. We can schedule a pick up and meet and greet appointment. https://www.operationkindness.org/foster/

Story
Col. Potter Cairn Terrier Rescue www.cairnrescue.comZap is 13 years 10 months old and has a level 4 heart murmur. This condition makes loud noises seem intense and unenjoyable. Zap will scurry and scuttle his way to safety whenever he feels threatened. If in public, he may freeze so you should be ready to scoop him up. Zap has a younger Foster sister doggo who is very patient and knows not to make too much noise with her stuffies. He loves to play with her because she is so submissive and yes, he is a secret alpha. When he hears his treats, he will come running out and devour the heart medication hiding inside. He takes 5 pills in the morning and 6 at night. The pills make him pee, a lot, so he loves to have lots of water bowls nearby. You may see his sock monkey near one of his water bowls. He will love and defend his sock monkey as he knows these are his dog-given rights. He’s not much for walks, but he’s happy to be carried and weighs a whopping 13.4 lbs. He is stable albeit he will always have an heart murmur, and most days he uses the puppy pads.FOR LOTS MORE INFORMATION ON ZAP ENTER OR COPY THIS LINK ONTO YOUR WEB BROWSER:https://www.cairnrescue.com/store/dogs/ Zap is being fostered in Ft. Story
Col. Potter Cairn Terrier Rescue www.cairnrescue.comWhat are boys made of? “ Snips and snails and puppy dog tales”. Roland is a ready for action kind of fellow. When he gets out of his crate in the morning he races to the toy box and grabs an item. His enthusiasm in latching on to the toy makes it seem like he has been longing to get the toy all night long. Roland will do best in a home with another dog. He likes the buddy system. He plays along side his housemates more than with them. He loves a lap cuddle with his foster mom but is not a fan of being picked up. Leash walking was a new experience for Roland when he came into foster care. He now troops along with his foster brother and sisters in a mannerly fashion but can be reactive when another dog is seen. Roland will bring a smile to your face (if not a belly laugh) with his joyous goofus antics. He likes nothing better than to toss a toy into the air and capture it. After he has played, he also loves a sunbath in the backyard along side his foster-sisters. Now that the weather is heating up in AZ, his foster mom needs to make sure doggie water bowl isn’t too full when he and the resident dogs return from an early morning walk since he likes to use his water bowl as a wading pool splashing a mess onto the floor.FOR LOTS MORE INFORMATION ON ROLAND ENTER OR COPY THIS LINK ONTO YOUR WEB BROWSER:https://www.cairnrescue.com/store/dogs/ Roland is being fostered in Casa Grande, AZ in a PRIVATE FOSTER HOME but we allow our dogs to be adopted out all over the United States and Canada!LEARN OUR 'ADOPTION FAQS': Any questions that you may have about our adoption process, fees, transporting a dog, and our policy not to adopt to families with small children, can be answered at our main website or going directly to this link: https://www.cairnrescue.com/service/faq/ IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU READ THE FAQ'S BEFORE COMPLETING AN APPLICATION. Story
If you have been debating about whether to get a small dog or a big dog, you need to look at Evie! This spunky gal comes in at 23 lbs, and about 5-6 months old. The best part? We call her a low rider because she is not going to get much taller than her current height. We think she may finish out at 40 lbs This gal loves to play and has true puppy energy! She is at the perfect age to start obedience training. Evie is doing well enough on her potty training, but she will get there with time and patience. She had not been introduced to children or cats yet, so the jury is still out on how she will do. Interested in learning more? Contact Liz 214-616-6128. Ready to adopt ?
