Shirley.. once a fun loving and rowdy kitten is now a fun loving, calm and affectionate companion who finds comfort with her favorite people. She may need just a little bit of time to adjust but in the right furever home she will not only adjust but she will thrive. Her personality is as soft as her beautiful calico coat. She loves quiet moments, cozy naps and following you around for attention. She is a cuddle seeker with a heart of gold, one who is more than happy to curl up next to you for a good snooze while her constant purr brings you comfort after the day is done.  She is very ready for her furever home! Are you ready to offer her one full of all the love and attention she deserves? Please note: Shirley would do best as an only childMore information & application [ts=1775170845&src=aap]

Story
Magpie is a very young Mom Cat. Magpie and her six new-born kittens were abandoned at a local firehouse.  When the firefighters returned from a call, they found a box of teeny, tiny kittens and a loving Mama Kitty.  The firefighters quickly went into rescue mode and contacted The Cathouse on the Kings.  The kittens and their mom, Magpie, have been thriving in foster care and are now ready to find forever homes.  Magpie has been a very loving and nurturing mom to her six kittens.  As a very young cat herself, she is quite energetic, likes to talk, and is loving and affectionate with her foster humans.  She did fine with young, school-aged children visiting the foster home.  She would do well as an only cat or with another confident cat if given some time to adjust. If you are looking for an entertaining companion, Magpie is the one for you! Please note: Magpie is ok with small childrenMore information & application [ts=1775170845&src=aap]

Story
? Sunflower’s Adoption Story ? Meet Sunflower, a stunning calico kitten whose soft coat glows with warm shades of yellow, orange, and cream—like the petals of a sunflower basking in the morning sun. Her name suits her perfectly—not just for her coloring, but for the gentle warmth she brings into any room. Sunflower is the definition of kitten curiosity and playful energy. She spends her days darting after feather wands, pouncing on toy mice, and leaping with surprising grace onto her favorite sunny spot: a cozy hammock in the window, where she watches the world go by between cat naps. She's a little athlete in the making, but also a professional napper. Though still learning to fully trust humans, Sunflower has a sweet and thoughtful spirit. She's not the type to rush into new situations—she prefers to take her time, watching and learning. A calm, patient hand will be rewarded with slow blinks, soft purrs, and eventually, gentle cuddles. She's blossoming every day and just needs someone who understands that love sometimes grows best with space and quiet care. Sunflower feels most comfortable with other feline companions and thrives in a multi-cat home. She has also been around respectful dogs and handled it like a pro. With the right environment—one filled with kindness, patience, and a sunny spot to nap—Sunflower is sure to bloom into a loving lifelong friend. Could your home be the place where Sunflower finally blooms? ? More information & application [ts=1775170845&src=aap]

Story
Snowpea’s Story: A Princess in Progress Snowpea wasn’t just any kitten—she was a vision. With her silky white coat brushed with the signature patches of calico coloring, she looked like royalty straight out of a fairytale. Her dainty paws stepped softly like she was walking on clouds, and her golden-green eyes shimmered with curiosity. Everyone who met her agreed: Snowpea was a fancy little princess. But don’t let her elegant looks fool you—Snowpea has the heart of an explorer. Her days are spent roaming corners, peeking under furniture, and claiming every high perch she can find. She’s a brave little adventurer, ruling her world one pawstep at a time. Mealtimes? That’s where her royal attitude shines brightest. If you’re not moving fast enough with her dish, she’ll give you a polite (okay, slightly impatient) swat to remind you who’s in charge. It’s not rude, really—just part of her charm. After all, a princess should never be kept waiting for her feast. Snowpea’s journey isn’t just about discovering new nooks and crannies—it’s about learning the world of humans, too. She *loves* people, but she’s still figuring out how much interaction feels just right. Sometimes she wants your company, sometimes she prefers her royal solitude. And that’s okay. Like all great things, building trust with Snowpea takes time, patience, and lots of love. In return, she offers the promise of becoming a truly loyal and loving companion—soft, sweet, and a little bit sassy. Snowpea is still growing into herself, but one thing is certain: whoever gives her a forever home will be welcoming a graceful little soul with a curious spirit and a heart full of potential. Will you be the one to give this beautiful calico princess her castle? ?? More information & application [ts=1775170845&src=aap]

Frankie is 13 years old. She has been raised with her best friend Jax since being adopted in Houston, TX. Unfortunately due to some recent health concerns in our home we can no longer keep our beautiful friends and we are looking for a loving home, family or individual for them to love with. We simply want them to be loved and cared for and hopefully kept together. Frankie is an old soul, she enjoys being curled up and hiding away. She loves being close at night and will typically sleep close by but enjoys her personal space. She's calm and reserved.

Jax is 13 years old. She has been raised with her best friend Frankie since being adopted in Houston, TX. Unfortunately due to some recent health concerns in our home we can no longer keep our beautiful friends and we are looking for a loving home, family or individual for them to live with. We simply want them to be loved and cared for and hopefully kept together. The best way to describe Jax is silly and peaceful. She enjoys bathing in the sun and rubbing against your feet when she can sense you are sad. She's a low maintenance, beautiful girl.

Story
M - 9 years old - Gray Tabby Shorthair - Carl may have a bit of a rugged look, but underneath it all is one of the sweetest, most affectionate boys you’ll ever meet. Life has thrown this senior gentleman some curveballs, including skin issues that are just now starting to clear up, and he’s feeling much better these days. He politely tolerates bath time like a true champ, even if it’s not exactly his favorite activity. Carl does love attention, being petted, and a tasty Churu treat. He leans right in for affection and soaks it up like he’s been waiting his whole life for it. He’s gentle, loving, and has that special kind of calm, comforting presence only a senior cat can offer. Carl is also positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). FIV attacks and weakens the feline immune system and is spread by bite wounds, so these cats should only be in a household where all the cats get along. There is little risk of transmission to a non-infected cat through food sharing and social grooming. ADOPT To adopt, come see us! We're open for walk-ins Tuesday - Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM with adoptions closing at 4:30 PM each day. Story
F - 7 years old - Brown Tabby Domestic Shorthair - This gentle girl was found navigating life on the streets while pregnant and blind, quietly doing her best to survive. Despite everything she’s been through, Libby has the softest, sweetest soul. She can be a little shy at first, taking her time to learn her surroundings and trust new people, but once she does, it’s something truly special. An ocular exam showed significant scarring and cloudiness in both of her eyes, and while she may have limited vision, Libby doesn’t let that define her. She relies on love, gentle voices, and kind hands. In turn, she responds with quiet affection that will absolutely melt your heart. Libby is looking for a calm, indoor-only home where she can feel safe, move at her own pace, and allow her true personality to shine! She co-exists well with other cats, mostly keeping to herself while being in their company. ADOPT To adopt, come see us! Story
M - 5 years old - Gray/White Domestic Shorthair - Like his namesake, Ray is completely blind but totally sweet! He had a hard time adjusting to the shelter environment at first, struggling with depression and loneliness, but after some tender love and care from staff and volunteers, he has become a whole new cat. He loves his chin scratched and goes nuts for Churu. He shows his love with head butts and the most wonderful, throaty purrs. He will make a perfect companion for someone who wants an indoor-only cat who has all the love to give! ADOPT To adopt, come see us!
