Darcee was a stray that was brought to PAWS after she went into a house with a man when he got home from work! No one stepped up to claim her so we had her vetted - Spayed, shots, microchipped, - and now she is ready for her forever home. She is a beautiful calico that is only about 1 1/2 years old. She is very affectionate but does have her "calico moments". She loves sitting on the office desk and lying up on the counter watching for folks to come in. She will make a great companion. Margo came to PAWS pregnant and gave birth to five beautiful babies the very next day. She had been living as a stray on the streets of Cairo, IL, for all of her life as far as we know. But a kind gentleman came to her rescue and began to feed her and provide shelter for her. He was sad to surrender her but said he just could not continue to care for her and just wanted her to be safe. She is THE sweetest cat I have ever known and she is beautiful. (Unfortunately, she is not very photogenic so her pictures really don't do her justice!) She is immediately friendly with everyone and just wants to love and be loved. She is very quiet and calm and has been an exceptionally great mom. Now that she has the babies old enough to go to their forever homes, it is her turn to have the love and comfort of her very own home and family. She has been spayed, microchipped and has a rabies shot. She did test positive for FIV but I pray that does not stop someone from giving this precious girl the life that she deserves. Most research shows that this can only be transmitted to other cats through a deep puncture wound. It is not a danger to humans. Lee is one of five kittens that Momma Liza managed to keep alive against all odds. They were found in an alley starving and covered in fleas.
