Calico kittens & cats in Atchison, Kansas

Briar Rose's Story Beautiful Briar Rose is looking for a new home! This much-loved kitty is back with us after being adopted as a kitten. Her person had a bunch of changes going on, including divorce and a move, and had to part with this sweet baby girl. Her last owner described her as super talkative and so much fun! She loves to be chased and will chase her person as well! Here is her backstory with the Fort Leavenworth Stray Facility prior to her first adoption in March 2025: Sweet little tortie! Came into the shelter in August 2024 so she has grown up a bit since she's been with us. She's been enjoying time playing with other kittens as they come into the shelter, and she loves "escaping" the playroom to investigate the rest of the facility. Featured as the Pet of the Week in the Sept. 23, 2026, issue of the Lamp. (Previously featured as the Pet of the Week in the Sept. 26, 2024, Nov. 21, 2024, and Dec. 12, 2024, issues of the Fort Leavenworth Lamp. (December 2024 was an adorable "Who Wore It Best" duel with kitty Sarina.) Visit the Fort Leavenworth Stray Facility at 510 Organ Ave. from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Muffin is around ten years old she was originally my mothers but took a liking to me and eventually became mine. She is a sweet heart, very affectionate and very vocal but she is also the living definition of a scaredy cat; she does best alone and in a quiet environment. I’ve had her for around nine years and honestly don’t have the drive or energy to give her the love she deserves anymore.

Penny is a 9 year old sweetheart who would prefer a quiet home. She loves to cuddle and be petted. She is very forthcoming with strangers and will participate in everything you do. She is insatiably curious and independent in a classic cat way.

Hello! Meet this sweet beautiful girl princess! She is so cuddly and so loving just looking for her forever home! I got her from outside in my neighborhood and have been fostering her for about 3 months. She is very young and such an amazing lady. I’d hope she could go to a home with someone who already has a cat because she just loves her kind! I’d looovveee to keep her I just have too small of a home and not enough money to take care of three cats (I already had two before I found her). Really want her to go to a loving safe home forever!

Hi! My name is Eloise! This is my second time at Purrfect Pets. :( Unfortunately I just cannot stand young children, so if you have anyone at home who is under 5 I just don't think it would work out between us.
